Chemical resistance of the selected plastic must be verified with the chemical(s) being used. Compatibility not only varies by material and chemical, but also by other variables such as: stress level, concentration and temperature.

One should also pay close attention to cleaning agents that are used to wipe down dust and dirt from piping systems. Some common cleaners may attack the piping material causing premature failure.
