Elimination [NEJMA (+) vs JPIA (-)] I. Proposition: "Resolved, that MORE FUN IN THE PHILIPPINES CAMPAIGN shall be Disregarded and Replaced" II. Arguments of the Affirmative side: They are in favor of the proposition because of the following: 1. It is a copy cat of the Swiss slogan in 1951. 2. The campaign received a lot of negative reactions from Filipinos and foreigners. 3. The budget for it is not worth the projectjust a waste of time and money. 4. There is no unity among Filipinos about our own campaign. 5. How can we say that Ito ay sariling atin when it is copied from other country. III. Arguments of the Negative side: They are against the proposition because of the following: 1. There is high rate of return on the campaign. 2. The budget to allot for replacing the campaign would be high. 3. It is not a copied ad but just a co-incident. 4. There are other cases that use the same words but isnt an issue. 5. The campaign is more comprehensible and it truly reflects our country. 6. Since the commencement of this campaign, there is a 12% increase in tourists. IV. The Negative team deserves to win because of the following reasons: 1. They are able to express what they really want to say and ask. 2. They are absolutely better during the interpolation. 3. The affirmative speakers are quite nervous so they cant construct their questions well. 4. There are more facts, figures and bases presented by the negative side. 5. The negative team made much use of their time unlike the affirmative speakers. 6. The confidence level of the negative speakers is evidently observable.

Final Round [NFINEXA (+) vs JPIA (-)] I. Proposition: "Resolved, that Death Penalty should be imposed/implemented in the Philippines." II. Arguments of the Affirmative side: They are in favor of the proposition because of the following: 1. Death is the natural fear of men and if Death penalty will be imposed, then there will be lower criminal rate. 2. There will be justice and more innocent lives can be saved. 3. The budget for imprisoned people can be lessened. 4. To improve security. III. Arguments of the Negative side: They are against the proposition because of the following: 1. Death penalty is murder and we must preserve human values. 2. Two wrongs cannot correct a mistake. 3. Imprisonment is already enough to serve as punishment and through that process, there can be a change of heart in the criminal. 4. Death penalty is just an easy way out. 5. Death penalty doesnt discourage or stop crimes (in heat of passion). 6. Innocent people can be sentenced to death because the verdict is susceptible of mistake or error. 7. It is expensive to adapt the death penalty. V. 7. Even though it is harder to be on the negative side without addressing religious perspective, they are able to do their parts well.
