All of you who must use FM 534 to get to gas stations, grocery stores or to any other place of business are probably wondering why you are stalled out waiting for road crews nearly every day. I wondered why FM 534 was being re- done for what seems like the 4th time in the past 15 years. I called and left a message with someone named Robin, who left no message other than my name and phone number, so I had to repeat my reason for calling to the man who re- turned my call, a man who only identified himself as Tomas. It sounded like DeMoss. (I dont know whether that is his first name or last name. Perhaps he only has one name.) This was a lot like visiting a doctor, where the nurse asks you a bunch of questions and then the doctor asks you the same questions because the doctor believes you wont tell the truth to one of them (probably the nurse) and they can catch you in a lie. Having worked for State of Texas agencies and school dis- tricts, heres what I have learned about budgeting. When an agency or any department of any government-funded entity prepares a budget for the fol- lowing year, always asking for ever-increasing amounts of money of course, if that entity of government has not spent every single cent of the current years budget, the future budget will be reduced, defi- nitely not increased. Therefore, you find ways to spend every dime, even if you do not actu- ally need to do so. Then the en- tity pads the new budget request by at least ten percent, hoping to get at least the cur- rent budget amount. After all, without money, your power is reduced. With more money, more power. So when Tomas called I ex- plained to him that it appeared that TxDot was widening FM 534 but not widening the bridges. I explained that I am sick and tired of dealing with this road work every two or three years and asked just ex- actly what the point is of widening the road and leaving the bridges just as they are. I told him how scary it can be to approach one of those bridges when an 18-wheeler is ap- proaching from the other side. He said he had spoken with Anthony Villareal who is in charge of bridges in the area and that Villareal said our bridges were not eligible for replacement. Apparently, from what Tomas said, a bridge is only eligible for re- placement when it can no longer support its load rating. So, as long as no huge heavy truck falls through a bridge ren- dering it unusable, it is not el- igible for replacement. (Thats funny. I thought a large portion of fees and taxes I pay were for bridges.) Then I asked Tomas what was the point of widening the road but not the bridges. He replied that there were reports of people going off the road and that by widening it the margin of error was im- proved. The only people I per- sonally know of who have gone off the road in the area where the work is being done were under the influence of drugs, alcohol or both. I know of another man who almost went off the road because of a slick layer of mud on the road. When I mentioned these issues to Tomas and explained it was driver error and not the fact that the road was too narrow, he didnt have the figures on the causes for people going off the road but agreed that most of them were probably drunk drivers. I asked him where the margin of error was on the bridges. He couldnt answer that. So, finally I told him I un- derstood. I understood he had to find a place to spend avail- able money so he could get more of it next year. It really has nothing to do with safety. It has nothing to do with anything but spending tax dollars to keep the bureaucrats in business. (After all, all government agen- cies at every level are in busi- ness to perpetuate themselves and for each agencys employ- ees to keep their highly over- paid jobs.) I closed with telling him that I did not know how a man could in good conscience work for such a non-sensical bureaucracy. Of course, I know the answer: He is being paid far more than he could possibly get paid using the same knowledge or skill set in the private sector. Valentines Day At Lagarto Community Club We Get Mail The Presidential election of 2012 has the political world in a battle between the GOP to nominate someone who could essentially beat Obama. The mainstream-media-complex has taken it upon themselves to present you with only two possible candidates: Mitt Rom- ney and Newt Gingrich. What the mainstream-media doesnt tell you is that Gingrich and Rick Santorum are not eligible for 564 of the 2,286 delegates awarded. 1,144 delegates will secure a candidate the Republi- can Nomination. Every four years our country focuses on the Presidential election, its usually the high- est voter turnout than any other election, national or local. Most folks pay no mind to who represent them in Washington, and it is mostly for those that I write these words. When I learned and could ac- tually understand the purpose of government, I saw how far beyond our Constitution we have gone. One under-looked aspect of the decline of our Re- public is the decay of the United States Senates job to preserve State Sovereignty. One way to preserve our State Sovereignty is through the original intent of the Constitu- tion as to how Senators are elected; disregarding the 17th Amendment. Senators were originally ap- pointed via State legislatures to represent a State as a whole. States lost that representation with the ratification of the 17th Amendment which allowed the direct election of a U.S. Sena- tor as opposed to an appoint- ment by the State legislatures. In the Texas U.S. Senate race there is a candidate who has fought tirelessly against the World Court to uphold U.S. Sovereignty and stop the pres- ident from enforcing the World Courts decision onto the State of Texas. In the Texas U.S. Senate race there is a candidate who fought for the State to have a Ten Commandments monument. In the Texas U.S. Senate race there is one candidate who has won in straw polls with an av- erage margin of 42%. This can- didate is Ted Cruz. Cruzs interest with politics began when he understood the greatness of America that his father worked hard to achieve. During Cruzs high school years, he was enrolled in a pro- gram where the participants had to write an abridged ver- sion of the Constitution from memory. Cruz was so intrigued with the Constitution and the original intent of the structure of government that his Prince- ton thesis was based on the 9th and 10th Amendments. Not only has Cruz fought for U.S. and State Sovereignty, he is an avid opponent to the United Nations Agenda 21 whose goal is to strip land from the population, housing the people in sustainable de- velopments where human ac- tivity is strictly monitored and restricted. Cruz stands in opposition of the 2011 NDAAs section 1021, where American citizens can be detained indefinitely if deemed a terrorist by the exe- cute branch. However, Cruz also supports some elements of the PATRIOT Act. Mr. Cruz feels that enemies and terrorist of the United States must be swiftly dealt with. During the 2000 Presidential bid for the White House, Cruz served as the domestic policy advisor to the Bush campaign. Mr. Cruzs thoughts on the PATRIOT Act worry me a bit, although I will say that his defiance of the NDAA goes to show his ac- knowledgment of the outra- geous breach of our Constitutionally protected Rights. In 2003 Cruz became Texas State Solicitor General, during which he defended States Rights to nullify an attempt by the executive branch to enforce the verdict of the World Court. It is quite impressive to say that someone who advised the Bush campaign on domestic policy would end up fighting the same administration on States Rights and the power of the executive branch. We can only hope that if we elect a candidate like Cruz that he would fulfill all his prom- ises, leading us to a more pros- perous Nation. There are many reservations to send another lawyer to Washington and I dont blame the reluctance; however, here we have a lawyer who doesnt lobby for more control by the federal government. I cannot say for sure if Cruz will stick to his campaign rhetoric if elected, but judging by his record I can give him the benefit of the doubt that he will accomplish many a great things if honored with the senatorial seat. The other major candidate in the race for Hutchisons U.S. Senate seat is Texas Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst. I must say that Lt. Gov. De- whursts infamous record of killing bills in the State Senate such as ending sanctuary cities or stopping the Transportation Security Administrations un- constitutional searches (pat- downs), does not sound like the record I would appreciate of my U.S. Senator. Dewhursts campaign is based on the idea that his multi-million net worth will assure him the Senate seat; however, when a candidate passes on many forums to meet-and-greet the voters, then the candidate loses credibility in a race. Over 90% of the straw polls taken for the Sen- ate seat have graciously fa- vored candidate Ted Cruz. The Cruz campaign sings a clear message of conservative beliefs and the determination to drive the conservative movement back to the Consti- tution. The Cruz Agenda has denounced Obamas unconsti- Dont Forget the U.S. Senate Election Challenges are opportunities to find out who we really are... Any candidate who campaigns with this sen- timent, and has a record of winning Constitutional battles, is a candidate who I would love to see as our Senator. It is these types of actions why I cast my vote for Ted Cruz for Texas United States Senator for 2012. Armando Conde Kingsville together weekly on Thursdays for crafting workshops; a few members participate weekly in soft aerobics; a few members break out the cards weekly for some friendly competition. All this is done at the Old Lagarto School on FM 534. BUT, you can use the school too. You can lease the building for that graduation party, that birthday party or even a wedding. Come and check us out any Thursday morning and one of our members will be happy to show you around. There are many Texans out there today who are very angry about Obamacare, Cap and Trade, NDAA, the Rural Council the Patriot Act and a whole host of other federal government abuses. Every day we hear about our rights being stripped from us, and we do not even know how many rights are taken away that we do not even hear about. Additionally, the entire re- districting battle on-going in Texas which has caused us unknown primary dates has essentially been caused by the federal government. Our re- districting is really none of their business! As a result of our anger, many have been talking of state nullification of such atrocities as the Obamacare bill and other abuses, but noth- ing has actually been done. Others speak in hushed and no- so-hushed tones about seces- sion of the State of Texas from the United States. People from other states also talk about se- cession. Texas, along with most of the south and much of the midwest have apparently entirely differ- ent concerns and beliefs about the federal government than do the west coast states and many northern states. If several states with common goals and inter- ests seceded, forming a very light union with minimal central government, all those Democrat states can have each other and continue to head to- wards bigger and bigger failed government with no rich folks left to pay out all the welfare to the rest. What might happen if Texas and/or other states were to se- cede? (First, realize that the se- cession of the Confederate States in the 19th century was over states rights and the north- ern states abuses of the south. The conditions were much like they are today.) More than likely, since Obama has al- ready stated that he thinks Lin- coln was great president and he likened himself to Lincoln, Obama would probably de- clare war on any state that se- Secession and Nullification ceded. Whether he would win or not is somewhat debatable. It would depend largely on whether Texas (and/or other states) active duty military would be willing to fight against their own people or would instead desert the U. S. military establishment and fight on behalf of their state(s). It would also depend on whether there enough real Tex- ans left in Texas to support such a move. There are presently a few se- cessionist organizations out there who insist that secession can be done entirely peace- fully. Maybe it can be. I cer- tainly would hope so. The Obama administration is cer- tainly afraid of Texas (except maybe Austin, certain parts of Dallas and certain parts of Houston) If it cannot be done peace- fully, Texas and/or other states might lose and face the same awful fate the south faced after the first War of Northern Ag- gression --evil and relentless martial law. Whatever might be the consequences, I think its time for Texans to draw a line in the sand and stand up against the thugs in Washing- ton, fire all Texas elected offi- cials and start over Elizabeth Wallace Houston March 2012 The Lake & Country Shopper - 3 www.lovechrysler.com Congratulations to Love Chrysler Dodge Jeep on behalf of Chrysler Group LLC. Well, Cowboys and Cowgirls the time is soon coming to where we will have over $6.00 per gallon ($5.99 is still $6 to me). Then what? Well, before we have the elections for a new president, those prices will drop and we will be such grateful to this Obama presi- dent, that you are going to run out and vote him in! Does that sound like you. Regardless of your party fa- vorite, the money runs out! It may not really run out cause that President still has some, your congressman still has some but you will have almost zero (even if you have $1000. For one weeks groceries, what are you going to buy?), be- cause either you cannot afford it, the food supply is so mini- mal you cannot buy it or it is rationed by the Federal Gov- ernment. Yes, I am making this statement, as I lived and re- member the days of what is re- ferred to as The Depression from the 1920's, lived thru WWII, and all the other crap that this Federal Government has had us go through, and it is time for We The People to go to that voting booth and vote for Freedom, Liberty for all, and for our government to get back in line with what our Constitution requires it to be! You deserve more, and you can have more. Just pick yourself up by the bootstraps and create yourself a job, and it can grow into a business to be so very proud of, and support your family, have some kids who can learn the business and keep it going. Not all of us have to go to college, just to a good school that actually teaches the basics of learning...example: how to comprehend what you have just read. Maybe that should be a requirement for voting. We have to do some- thing that will give us the ability to see that it is up to each one to chose what we de- termine to be for our life and go far it. You ask, What if I dont make it. I say keep trying! I know you are not a fool for try- ing just an idiot for not keep- ing on with your vision! None of this comes quickly to you and if it does, you may need to look at your resources and make sure you do not have some type of loan shark hiding amongst the dollars you have acquired. Remember nothing good comes easy, but then again you get to keep what is actually yours...so keep up the hard work! Do not become the fool! Back to this voting in No- vember 2012 for our officials. Have you ever checked how they have voted on any of the issues that may concern you? Did they vote for more money for food stamps, or any other TANEF benefits? Well, if, for example, you are on food stamps and they did vote for that and you had a big increase is your benefit. Guess you are really happy? But now look a little further down the street. What happens when all the people who pay into this fund (other taxpayers) also land on bad times and they go to get food stamps and they do and everyone is happy, right! Wait, it is now a year later and now who is putting money in cof- fers for your food stamps since the one who was doing it is also now on food stamps? Soon no one will be putting anything into food stamps or TANEF, and where does the money come from now? Great question! Since the governments only get funding from you and me and we are not putting any money back into the system where does the government get the money? (Meaning we do not pay any taxes). Right the government just prints up some more money. (That means here comes price hikes) and the cost of food is so high that even the increased amount the government has given you now buys much less food than before you got the food stamp increase, right! So, another year comes around and this country is in shambles, cause everyone is in need of food stamps, and the government can print more money but what does that mean? Well, just as any good com- munist infiltrator knows...It is time to take over this country, because the people are hungry, afraid of whatever, willing to lick the shoes of the invaders (also know as kiss the rear-end of the new Master) and will not even desire any FREE- DOM, or Liberty. They know that the masses of people will allow this horrible take over of your country. Do not stand by and allow that to happen to you, your family, neighbors, or Its Your Life, Your Money, Your Freedom by V. J. Regardless of the events that do unfold after the immi- nent Mayan apocalypse, the year 2012 will be one for world history books, if they do still exist. The calamity that is the Euro, our own fiat cur- rency being constantly devalu- ated by the feds setting interest rates leaving the economy in shambles, and of course, the purported threat of Iran acquir- ing a nuclear weapon. Much focus has been concentrated on a threat of a nuclear Iran; however, Iran has denied its research and uranium enrich- ment program as a move to- wards nuclear weaponry. Iran adamantly claims that their en- richment program is for the ad- vancement in cancer regiments and is in accordance with the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). The NPT is a United Nations treaty signed by nuclear member countries to promote cooperation of peaceful nuclear purposes; with a further goal of complete disbarment of nuclear weapons. Three of the four Republi- can Presidential Candidates subscribe to the idea that America must not remove from the table military action towards Iran in an attempt to stop the Islamic Republic from acquiring nuclear weapons. From the social conservative Rick Santorum to the Massa- chusettss moderate Mitt Rom- ney, and who can forget about Mr. I-want- a-moon-base Newt Gingrich; all three have called for more than economic sanc- tions on Iran. They seek more aggressive covert actions and the possibility of backing Is- raeli-led preemptive attacks on Iran. Now-a-days it has become quite convenient to join the ranks of the Republican estab- lishments idea of American Exceptionalism. It is now much easier to wrap ourselves in the Flag and simply de- clare our actions appropriate regardless of the conse- quences. The pride of any na- tion is held by the People; however, the sad truth is that governments no longer repre- sent the People. Today, most elected servants serve those that make major contributions to their cause. I point this out because it is imperative to re- member that the actions of a country do not always reflect the voice of the People. Also, that when I speak of a country, I am specifically referring to the government of the country and not the People. The main reason why the Republican establishment re- fuses to accept Ron Pauls for- eign policy is all due to the fact that, as Americans, we cannot bring ourselves to admit that our Great Country is capable of such horrendous acts. The strength that is the U.S. mili- tary has, over the past decades, been the means to overtake a country and secure its re- sources. Military action on a country, whether overt or covert, has led to many civil- ian deaths abroad. Your local news does not tell you that the U.S. is constantly bombing terrorist sanctuaries which have turned out to be every- thing from funerals to resident dwellings. They dont tell you this for the same reason why nobody likes to know how a steak gets to your plate. All we want is the bloody-sweet-and- savory taste of victory. I love my country as much as any other patriot, however, a True Patriot, a humble soul can decisively stand for liberty re- gardless of the establishment rhetoric. In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated, and scorned. When his cause suc- ceeds however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot, said Mark Twain. When you understand liberty and God-given rights, then you will understand that we, as a country, do not have the right to infringe on another coun- trys sovereignty. America and Israel have executed numerous covert missions against Mus- lim countries in the Middle From the Far West Side by Farris West Whats Wrong With this Picture by Gwen Guyser If I were ten years old today rather than in the 1950's, my mother would have been im- prisoned for child abuse, and my brothers and sisters and I would all have been sent off to foster homes. Why do I say that? Because my mother made our lunches each and every day, and those lunches did not have enough vegetables (ac- cording to the federal govern- ment), included mayonnaise and sugary homemade choco- late chip cookies and did not include USDA-approved Big Agra processed foods such as chicken nuggets. My lunch was exactly the same every day: one tuna fish sandwich, one salami sandwich, one boiled egg, two homemade cookies and a half an apple or grapefruit. Despite the fact that we were poor by todays fed- eral government standards, Mother gave us each 7 cents each day to purchase a half pint of milk and a 4 oz. cup of ice cream. There were no free lunches at school, no free breakfast. Why did she get up at 5:30 every morning to fix us breakfast and make our lunches? The food served at school by the cafeteria was 1) considered by my mother as being unhealthy, and 2) consid- ered by my siblings and me as some sort of strange and un- palatable food, nothing like what we ate at home, and 3) at 35 cents per lunch, it was far more than our family could af- ford when the total family in- come was about $250 per month before taxes, and there were five children. I would probably have been kicked out of school for trading my noto- riously good chocolate cookies for an extra ice cream cup. Other reasons the above sce- nario might have happened? We were allowed to play around the neighborhood, go to the park by ourselves, and ex- pected to respect all the bound- aries set out for us, such as Go to the park only with a brother or sister, or Call me if you get hurt. For about an hour and a half each day after school, we were HOME ALONE, with no adult super- vision and with me, at age nine and ten being the oldest child at home. Whats worse, we walked or rode our bikes to school because we hated riding the bus with all the hooligans. Even then, awful things hap- pened on school buses. School was a mile and half from home. Sometimes, while home alone, we injured ourselves, but we knew what to do. If it was serious, such as in a bro- ken bone, we knew to go to the mom next door and knew she would take care of us until our mother came home. If it was just a scrape or minor cut, we knew all about cleaning the wound, applying Campho Phenique and a bandage, usu- ally made from old clean rags and a piece of adhesive tape because ready-made bandages were too expensive. In todays world, the school would deem our lunches as not meeting federal standards. When my sister broke her arm jumping off a sawhorse and pretending to fly like Super- man, the school would proba- bly call CPS to investigate as to why my sister was unsuper- vised and hurt herself as an eight-year-old while our mother was not home. Now it gets worse: On school holidays, Mother gave us a dol- lar to buy hotdogs or ham- burger meat and gave us matches so we could go out to the woods behind the house, build a fire and cook out. She also gave each of us, both boys and girls, a pocket knife at about age seven or eight. We rode our bikes all over the place, playing cops and rob- bers and cowboys and Indi- ans on bicycles, with no helmets, yet we have all lived to tell about it. Sure we had our accidents, and I still have the scars, but the freedom we all had led to our becoming re- sponsible, creative, competi- tive and productive citizens. We were responsible. We were taught what the boundaries of behavior were and respected them. We were not allowed to play with children whose par- ents did not enforce or respect boundaries of behavior. In todays schools, there are no choices for truly healthy lunches. Who knows better? The federal government? or a childs own parents? The gov- ernment is simply pushing phoney food produced by Big Agra, leading eventually to poor health and subsequent in- tervention by drug-prescribing doctors and Big Pharma. What business is it of the government to tell you your child should be in a special car seat? What business is if for the govern- ment to force you buy a bicy- cle helmet for your child? What business is it of the gov- ernment to intervene in child- raising? What business is it of the government to order vac- cines for children? These are the decisions that should be made by parents alone. Sure, there are always going to be ir- responsible parents raising ir- responsible and damaged children, but government inter- vention simply makes these is- sues worse, not better. School Lunches Sense Why is it that people who call themselves "Christian" confuse marriage sanctified by their church and civil mar- riage? Why do they honor "Justice of the Peace" mar- riages of a man and a woman the same as they do "church weddings." Why do they seem to think the civil rights that come with marriage in this country are "ordained by God." Why does civil law give all sorts of rights to married couples (one man and one woman) to the exclusion of gays living in a committed, "marriage-like" relationship or to any same-sex life relation- ship? Lets see, a man and a woman living together seem to have more rights than any two same-sex pair living together, as the man and woman (in Texas, at least) may simply agree that they are married, tell others that they are married and receive at least one bill to Mr. and Mrs. and be com- mon-law married. Also, felons in prison, pedophiles, murderers and sociopaths can marry and receive the civil law benefits of marriage, but law-abiding gays cannot. Why do these folks think that what they perceive as sinful should be legislated? Worse, why is it that there are voters out there who seem to think that all our countrys woes are because of abor- tion/contraception issues and gay marriage issues, rather than the real problems of Pro- gressivism, the Federal Re- serve and excessive government spending? These are the people who vote for Rick Santorum in the primar- ies. These are people who can- not reason and perhaps cannot read or write and do not under- stand the huge problems this country faces in terms of eco- nomic issues, foreign policy, gargantuan government con- trol and rampant socialism and fascism. I am beginning to think that only people who can read and write English should be al- lowed to vote. In fact, I am thinking a reading comprehen- sion test should be required of everyone when first applying for voter registration. Why do we allow people who cannot read or write in English (and often not in any language whatsoever) the right to vote? How do they decide on which candidate to choose? The per- son who they think will give them the most government freebies? The person some guy who takes them to the polls tells them to vote for? The person some guy who buys them a BBQ dinner and beer tells them to vote for? The guy the mainstream media televi- sion tells them to vote for? Why is it that the 51% of Americans who pay no taxes can vote for how the rest of us have to allocate our money? Why does our government (and insurance companies, as a result) consider pregnancy an illness? Why do I pay, via taxes and high insurance rates, for pregnancy benefits? If you don't have the money to have a baby, do what is needed not to have one. Why do they want to use my tax dollar to provide birth control and abortion to women who live uncontrolled lives? "No" is supposed to mean "no," and I cannot be- lieve that all these women seeking birth control and/or abortions don't know how ba- bies are born. "If you are going to play, you gotta pay." Why do people who want the federal government to outlaw abortion and keep Catholic agencies from requirements of providing contraception con- sider this an infringement on their faith? After all, many Muslims in American want "honor killings" to be legal. What's the difference? Both are religious zealots wanting the government to pass laws that support their religious be- liefs or to be relieved of fol- lowing the law. Why does the government seem to believe it knows what is best for childrens lunches at school? Why do parents even allow their children to eat lunch served up by the notori- ously dreadful school cafete- rias, mandated by the USDA, heavily in bed with the huge conglomerate food production corporations. Why does the Obama Admin- istration say the economy is improving? Its cost-of-living indicators do not include food and gasoline, the two items that affect us most. The fig- ures do include such non-ne- cessities as electronics, washing machines and cell phones. Why does the Obama Ad- minstration say that unemploy- ment figures are going down, when they only count the peo- ple who have applied for un- employment benefits? They dont count people who have quit looking for a job, become self-employed or people whose unemployment benefits have run out, or people who are living on the streets? Of course, they are scamming the stupid among us into believing Obamas Good, Obamas Great, Let us thank him for our food. We should reword that: Obamas Bad, Obama thinks hes Great. Lets detest him for our FATE. Why did both mainstream and not-so-mainstream media not report that Ron Paul was in a statistical tie in the Maine primary? Could it be because the powers who want Neo- Con, RINO, Romney-Gin- grich-Santorum in office just in case Obama loses? The stu- pidest candidate is Santorum. The career candidate who has nearly no actual productive work experience is Romney. The candidate who could do better than both of them, but not much, is Gingrich. The only candidate who can some close to saving America is the unmentionable Ron Paul. The mainstream Republicans, the Democrats, the Socialists, the Progressive and Communists are terrified of Ron Paul. Why is health care called health care, when it is obvi- ously disease/symptom care or Big Pharma promoted by its drug pushers (doctors)? Why is it that the disease-ori- ented organizations, such as the AHA, ADA, ACS and Big Pharma spend so much money to keep true health-care providers, such as natur- opaths, from legitimately prac- ticing health care? Why do rich people get huge tax-payer funded rebates for buying a Chevy Volt when I cannot even afford to drive my pickup truck to the gas station and back? Why, when I go to the gas station in Orange Grove, do they limit my purchase to $75? Valero says its the fault of my bank. My bank says its the fault of Valero. So, who is re- ally behind this? It sort of smells like gas rationing. Why, when I make too much money to be on Medi- caid yet cannot afford Medicare Part B or Advantage, am I paying more for Medicare Part B, Medicare Advantage and co-pays than I have ever paid for any kind of insurance in my life? Nearly 25% of my Social Security income goes to pay for Medicare Part B. What am supposed to use for gro- ceries or my house payment? Somehow I had always be- lieved I was going to get better and cheaper medical care when I became 65 years old. "Whenever destroyers appear among men, they start by destroying money, for money is men's protection and the base of a moral existence. Destroyers seize gold and leave to its owners a counterfeit pile of paper. This kills all objective standards and delivers men into the arbitrary power of an arbitrary setter of values. Gold was an objective value, an equivalent of wealth produced. Paper is a mortgage on wealth that does not exist, backed by a gun aimed at those who are expected to produce it. Paper is a check drawn by legal looters upon an account which is not theirs: upon the virtue of the victims. Watch for the day when it bounces, marked, 'Account overdrawn.'" ---Ayn Rand, 1905 - 1982 East, yet when we hear that these countries have retaliated, the news is usually labeled as an attack rather than retribu- tion. Pauls foreign policy is not based on isolationism; it is based on the belief of diplo- macy and free trade. Perhaps if we were not constantly occu- pying other countries, then maybe, our country, and our name will not be spited. Paul and many like-minded libertar- ians endorse this view because non-aggression is paramount to diplomacy. Pakistan has nu- clear weapons and is accused by the U.S. as abetting Amer- icas number one enemy: Osama bin Laden. If the threat of terrorists is the reason why we must give up privacy and due process, then why has America not threatened mili- tary action on Pakistan? Could it be that Pakistan has nuclear weapons, and America is re- luctant to overtly attack Pak- istan? Paul has said that he does not want to see Iran get a nuclear weapon, but if they do, maybe they would get more re- spect. The act of aggression and taking the role of the worlds policemen has become the main cause of much hatred from Middle Eastern Muslims. How would we feel if the ISI was bombing an apartment complex on a corner block to eliminate Al-Qaeda members or if the Mossad were linked to the assassination of a U.S. nu- clear scientist? What would we think if we found ourselves under hostile occupation while being told that they are here to help? When Paul got booed by South Carolinians after he ad- dressed the old proverb: do unto others as you would want to be done to you; my heart sank for my country. The idea that any American agenda can be justified based solely on the fact that America is the most prosperous country in history, brings disappoint when the agenda does not advance lib- erty. Republican Presidential Candidate Rick Santorum claims that Iran has aggres- sively acted towards America ever since the 79 hostage cri- sis. Well the truth is that the U.S. has been involved ever since the overthrow of Mo- hammad Mossadegh in 1953. Dr. Mossadegh backed legisla- tion that would nationalize the Iranian oil industry, with the hopes of Iranians netting more than the 16% of the Anglo- Iranian Oil Company agree- ment. The British werent too keen on allowing Iranians more profits for oil production; this led to the British convinc- ing then Secretary of State John Dulles, that Irans coop- eration with the Soviets would lead to the expansion of com- munism in the region. With the threat of communism, Eisen- hower allowed for the ousting of Mossadegh. So, to rebut the former Sen- ators notions that Iran has caused the aggression seems a bit nave when you factor in every covert operation exe- cuted by our CIA, military, and proxy militant groups. The as- sassination of many Iranian nu- clear scientists can be traced backed to CIA and Mossad agents. As a matter of fact, the latest assassination (January 11, 2012) of a nuclear scientist can be linked to Mossad agents posing as CIA. A passing mo- torcyclist stuck a magnetic bomb to the car that the Iranian scientist occupied. February 13, 2012 Israel has blamed Iran for the attempted assassination of Israeli diplo- mats in India and Georgia. The attempt in Tsilibi, in the former Soviet Republic of Georgia, was unsuccessful when the driver noticed a black bag on the cars undercarriage which turned out to be a bomb. A paper published by the American Medical Associa- tion's Virtual Mentor is con- cerned that current enrollment in vaccine trials is extremely low. The proposed solution? Creating a federal law that would force each individual to make a "mandated choice" to participate in vaccine trials. Such a law would give drug companies a more or less guar- anteed supply of human guinea pigs. According to the featured paper: "... The lack of animal models that can reliably pre- dict vaccine efficacy means that development still unavoid- ably relies on testing of novel vaccines in healthy individu- als... In recent decades there has been a distressing decline in the numbers of healthy vol- unteers who participate in clinical trials, a decline that has the potential to become a key rate-limiting factor in vac- cine development. ... The modest financial remuneration commonly pro- vided often means that students and the unemployed make up the bulk of volunteers. As a result, the risks of de- veloping a health intervention that would benefit the whole population are carried dispro- portionately by some of soci- ety's most poor and vulnerable. This is a situation few would judge to be fair or ethi- cal. Compulsory involvement in vaccine studies is one alter- native solution that is not as outlandish as it might seem on first consideration. Many societies already mandate that citizens under- take activities for the good of society; in several European countries registration for organ-donation has switched from "opt-in" (the current U.S. system) to "opt-out" systems... and most societies expect citi- zens to undertake jury service when called upon... Mandatory involvement in vaccine trials is... perhaps more akin to military conscrip- tion... In both conscription and obligatory trial participation, individuals have little or no choice regarding involvement and face inherent risks over which they have no control, all for the greater good of soci- ety." Medical Tyranny of the Worst Kind! From my perspective, the idea of compulsory involve- ment in vaccine trials "for the greater good of society" is not only outlandish, it's a complete abomination. It's tyranny of the worst kind, and the epitome of a heartless system based on broken ethics. Sadly, there are signs that we're already sliding in that direction. For example, consider the fact that the US government has already ok'd the testing of the incredibly controversial and dangerous anthrax vaccine on infants. And the fact that when 14 ba- bies died in an Argentinean vaccine trial, the drug com- pany, GlaxoSmithKline, was fined a measly $250,000. Again and again, we see that life is not valued as highly as the prospects or promises of fi- nancial profits... Human ex- perimentation -- the practice of subjecting live human beings to science experiments that are sometimes cruel, painful, or deadly -- is a shameful part of U.S. history that you won't find in most history or science books. But it is a practice that is still continuing to this day, and if Susanne Sheehy and Joel Meyer, the authors of the featured paper, have anything to say about it, medical exper- imentation on ALL infants would not only be possible, it would be mandatory! Folks, this is an absolute nightmare; one that I hope will never ac- tually come to fruition. Know Your Rights! While you may one day have to opt out of vaccine trials for your child, we're not quite there yet. However, you do need to educate yourself about your rights when it comes to vaccinating your child. There are currently three different types of exemptions you can use to avoid vaccinations of all kinds: Religious exemption, Medical exemption,Philosoph- ical/conscientious exemption Unfortunately, the religious exemption is being targeted for elimination by lobbyists work- ing for pharmaceutical corpo- rations and medical trade associations funded by Pharma. In some states, like New York, parents are being grilled about the sincerity of their religious beliefs by state officials and denied religious exemptions to vaccination for the purpose of barring their partially vaccinated or unvac- cinated children from attend- ing public schools. All 50 states allow a medical exemption to vaccination if you or your child has a verifi- able medical reason to defer or avoid use of one or more vac- cines. However, the U.S. Cen- ters for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Ameri- can Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) have eliminated most of the officially recognized contraindications for vaccina- tion, to the point that almost no medical condition qualifies for a medical exemption to vacci- nation... Still, depending on where you live, you may have the op- tion of using a philosophical or conscientious belief exemp- tion. This exemption, like the religious exemption, is under attack by forced vaccination proponents. Only 18 states (listed below) still allow con- scientious, personal or philo- sophical belief exemption to vaccination. These states come the closest to protecting a citi- zen's right to exercise volun- tary, informed consent to vaccination in America: Arizona, California , Colorado Idaho, Louisiana, M a i n e , Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Wash- ington, Wisconsin. What You Can Do to Make a Difference While it seems "old-fash- ioned," the only truly effective actions you can take to protect the right to informed consent to vaccination and expand vac- cine exemptions, is to get per- sonally involved with your state legislators and the leaders in your community. Think Globally, Act Locally. Mass vaccination policies are made at the federal level but vaccine laws are made at the state level, and it is at the state level where your action to protect your vaccine choice rights can have the greatest im- pact. 800-861-1291 or 547-7500 On Lakeview Drive, Lake City, TX Call for direcons: 361-537-0503 Ask about our Farm Tours Fiber, Fashion and More! She is running for Congress under Get Out Of Our House, or GOOOH, a national program that encourages grassroots Americans to seek elected of- fice. Im not afraid to get my hands dirty Ill roll up my sleeves and show up for work, Jane says. I care about the people and will listen to what they want. I care about managing our money. I care about taking back America for the working peoplethe tax- paying middle class. I believe that Congress must set an ex- ample of the highest standards. I will not take advantage of the office as so many have done in the past. I will pay my taxes and my bills. I am not an elit- ist. Jane added, I am just like you and will not accept special treatment. I certainly will not demand it like so many in Congress do. I do not believe someone is special because they are a member of Con- gress. I believe a Congressman is a servant Of the people. That bell that you carry is not, believe me, any order of merit, but on the contrary a mark of disgrace, a public notice to all men to avoid you as an ill mannered dog." Moral: Notoriety is often mistaken for fame. A VERY LARGE OAK was uprooted by the wind and thrown across a stream. It fell among some Reeds, which it thus addressed: "I wonder how you, who are so light and weak, are not entirely crushed by these strong winds." They replied, "You fight and contend with the wind, and conse- quently you are destroyed; while we on the contrary bend before the least breath of air, and therefore remain unbro- ken, and escape." Moral: Stoop to conquer. Once upon a time, there were two families living in the same neighborhood, the Smiths and the Joneses. The Smiths had started their own business when they were first married. They worked hard every day and honored their commit- ments. They were honest in all their business dealings. After about ten years of struggling to make ends meet, they had all debts paid off, a nice home, two cars, a savings account and several luxuries such as a big screen TV, a spa, cell phones and computers. They contin- ued to prosper. The Joneses, on the other hand, held jobs, spent what they had on good times, beer and trying to keep the rent paid. Their rented property was always full of junk in the yard and overgrown weeds. They often had to ride the bus be- cause they didnt have enough money to get their rattle-trap old car fixed. The Joneses en- vied the Smiths and felt they should have their fair share of the wealth the Smiths seemed to have. So, when Mrs. Jones found herself pregnant, Mr. Jones went to Mr. Smith and asked for money to pay for her see doctors. Mr. Smith said, No, you go get an extra job or start a side business, and then you will have enough money. Jones had a brainstorm. He went back to Mr. Smith and announced that he had started his own business doing yard work. He asked Mr. Smith for work. Mr. Smith, proud of his neighbor for wanting to better himself, offered him a few hours work in his yard, mow- ing and weed-whacking. Mr. Jones showed up an hour late for the job, thinking it didnt matter since he didnt have a boss. Mr. Smith was miffed but decided to let it ride. Mr. Jones went right to work, beginning with the mowing. When he finished mowing, he went to work with the weed whacker. After a few minutes, he fell to the ground, writhing with apparent pain. Mr. Smith heard his cries and went to see what was the matter. Jones cried out that he had hurt his back. Mr. Smith suggested he go home and rest, paying him for the work he already com- pleted. Smith did not hear from Jones for quite a while. When he did, it was through a lawyer. Jones had filed a multi-million dollar law suit against Smith for his (bogus) back injury. Smith, who did not have lia- bility insurance, liquidated his life savings to pay lawyers to counter the suit. Meanwhile, Jones filed for and received food stamps, Medicaid, TANF benefits and many other gov- ernment benefits paid for by taxpayers like Smith. Soon the Smiths had to get a second mortage on their home to pay for mounting legal fees. When it was time to pay the IRS, the Smiths had no money left to pay. The Smiths lost their busi- ness, lost their home and had to lay off their ten employees, each of whom was eligible to draw unemployment benefits and many other government freebies. Since the Smiths could no longer afford lawyer fees, they settled with Jones for a few thousand dollars. Jones quickly squandered the money, and soon the Smiths, the Jone- ses and all the former employ- ees of the Smiths were on the government dole. Its a Dogs Life by Miss Daisy Duke I am telling you right now: My Mom has eyes in the back of her head and can see in the dark. My peeps were on to me about sneaking up on the sofas after they went to bed at night and sneaking back down when I heard one of them get up, so they started placing stuff on the sofas at night where I couldnt get up there. I havent the slightest idea how they knew Id been on a sofa, but somehow they knew. Boo-hoo! But one night I thought I was going to outsmart em. I got up to Moms easy chair in the middle of the night. I had no sooner gotten situated when I hear a booming voice shout, Daisy! Down! Believe you me, I was down out of that chair in a heartbeat! How in the heck did she know I was there? It was dark in the house! Now, I have heard Mom call that chair her Archy Bunker chair and no one but her can sit in it, but I thought she just meant people, not sweet little doggies like me. I dont know who the heck Archie Bunker is, but appar- ently he meant bidness about no one sitting in his favorite chair, cuz Mom was MAD! I tell you she was mad! But, why? After all, Im Queen of the World! Little Mom has started call- ing her chickens The Dixie Chicks. When Mom asked her why, she said they went for four or five days not laying enough eggs and that was downright Un-American! I wish I could lay eggs. Little Mom sure prizes those eggs. Mom says I dont have eggs anymore cuz Ive been fixed. Somehow that does- nt seem fair, I guess. One night Mom and Little Mom turned on that brightly lighted window-like thing they call a TV and seemed to pay- ing great attention to it. They both fell asleep in front it, though, so I guess it must have been really boring. Mean- while, I was outside, so when Mom got up to go to bed, she forgot all about me and left me outside all night without any water. Boo-hoo. Whine, whine! The next morning, though, she let me in and I got all the water and food I wanted, curled up on my day bed (nevermind the forbidden furniture) and slept and slept and slept. I guess I should be grateful for small favors. (Sigh) While I was out that night I barked and barked when a cat headed for chicken coop. No one is going to mess with my Dixie Chicks! They are mine, I tell you, all mine, even if Little Mom collects the eggs. At least Little Mom thanked me the next morning for doing my job by giving me one of her fantas- tic cookies. Yum! A little human boy visitor came over one day, along with his moms mom and dad. He was not much taller than me. I liked him right away cuz he smelled like dogs and he seemed happy and cheery. Him and me were out in my yard, and my peeps went through the people door to go out to the garage. That little boy followed me right through my doggy door to get to the garage, giggling as he went. I wasnt sure if I liked him using my door, but when all the grown-up humans started laughing I decided it best to go along to get along. I sure am glad all the rain has quit for now. I like playing out- side without all those water drops raining on my head. I get to play and play and then come in and sleep and then go out and roll in the dirt, chase cats. Whew! Its a great dogs life. Woof, woof to all my pals out there. Talk at ya next month! Isabelles Garden Tips Well, we actually had a little bit of rain. Amazing! Now we get to watch all those weeds start growing. I sure have had my fair share. Pulling those weeds is quite easy right after a rain. Have you checked on your seedlings? Mine for the most part seem to have made great plants. We will know more about 6 weeks from now. I have great salad greens grow- ing and will sometime this week (February 24) start re- planting so that I will have lots of great greens all summer. Hope it all comes out as planned. How are you doing? I have not heard from many of you this month, so I do not know what is going on. Are you making any new gardens around your place? I am thinking of planting a grapefruit tree, since I had to have my Orange tree cut down. Also my olive trees either have died or went into some type of hibernation for a few weeks. Still the bark is really in good condition with green limbs, so I just do not know what is going on but will let you know in April. Those trees were so beautiful but not all things go as I planned for them to. Guess it is up to the good Lord. I also want to plant a couple of avo- cado trees. I have great compost from the hay in my chicken coop. Those chicken play with one egg each day. Seems like they attempt to play keep-a-way. And another likes to play the drum which is a plastic red Folgers coffee can turned up- side down in the feeder. It ac- tually keeps those chickens from messing up their food server. Works well. Then I dis- covered that a piece of alu- minum screen wire cut with a hole in the middle makes a great barrier to keep them from messing up their water dis- penser. They are picking up in the egg laying department. Using the same food as al- ways. I do have a brooder light on them so that they should not molt to much (I guess that is what it is called.), I am really new to these chicken cycles. If you havent started your seedlings I would just buy plants from the nursery. But keep in mind here in this part of Texas you can grow just about year round. That means you can start seedlings for the fall that can carry you over the winter with all the fresh food you like. If we get a freeze, just have on hand some snow blan- kets they sell at the local nurs- erys. Also you can get a large piece of plastic that you can see thru and make a makeshift greenhouse if necessary should a freeze come up. The freeze shouldnt last more that a few hours but sometimes 2-3 days in a row. If you have been growing for a few years maybe it is time for you to buy two or three differ- ent vegetable plants to see if you like them. If youre just starting, stay with the plants you know you and your family will enjoy. Then work into new varieties and know what you are eating. Know what you use to keep the plants healthy, and in doing so you know what you are putting inside your body. That is very important! Try sending me some pic- tures of what you are doing. I am very interested in what you do in the gardening realm. Es- pecially the organic side of things. How do you keep pests from eating your food. I have heard of some very unusual ways. And will print any that even sound strange...so many of those do work. Like pouring beer in a lid and letting the slugs slide in and have a drink and then go bye, bye! Hope we get more rain as it is desperately needed in this area, well most of Texas even those places who have been having a lot of rain. Remember Texas is in drought. Have a fun Ides of March! Q U O T E TPCL No. 13874 Tips to Better Photos by Wayne Green In the past I have written about evaluating your image and how to decide whether it is composed of mostly dark areas or light areas or if it's balanced evenly between areas of light and dark. Throughout most of my career selling photos for use in magazines and other publications, transparency film always had to be used and ex- posure of the film had to be ex- actly right for any photo to be accepted and purchased. Now with digital cameras your ex- posure of the image can be quite a bit under or over ex- posed and still produce a usable image, however carefully ad- justing your camera for the most accurate exposure possi- ble will even with digital cam- eras achieve much better results and also cut down on any extra work in post expo- sure software attempting to im- prove your image after it's been shot. Your first step in learning how to achieve better exposure is to find out what kind of me- tering system your camera uses and to learn how your meter can be adapted to change the way it measures light coming into the camera. Some cameras have meters that can't be changed, so light is measured in one way only. Most of these cameras meas- ure the amount of light coming mostly from the central area of your composition. Finding out the exact area of the center that is being measured will go a long way to helping you create better exposed photos. For more sophisticated me- ters, you'll need to find out the system's different modes, how to switch to each mode and the area of the image that each mode measures. Often you'll have a spot mode, this mode only measures the light com- ing from a circle of a few de- grees of the image. As you look through your camera there will be a circle marked on the viewfinder to show you exactly what small area of the scene is being measured. The spot mode can be extremely useful because you can pick out any area of your scene that is a medium tone ( half way be- tween white and black ) set your exposure from the medium tone and you're very likely to obtain a well exposed image that includes some detail in the darker areas of your scene as well details in the lighter areas of your scene. If you set your meter at one of the modes that reads a large area of the scene, you will need to analyze the composition. If the image contains almost all medium toned areas or if it's composed of just about equal light and dark areas you can usually get by with exposing the shot according to what your meter reads( auto exposure ) However if the composition consists of primarily dark areas, you'll have to override what the meter indicates and set the camera to allow less light than the meter recom- mends so that the abundance of dark areas will look naturally dark and the few light areas will not be blown out with too much exposure. Just do the op- posite for a scene that has al- most all light areas and only a few areas of darkness. The meter in a general automatic mode will measure the light re- flected from all the light, al- most white areas and try to create a medium toned scene, making the light areas into greyish medium toned areas. If your camera doesn't have a spot mode, another way to get very accurate exposures is to buy an 18% Grey Card. These are sold at most places that sell photo equipment and are very inexpensive. To use them is as simple as placing the card in front of your camera to set ex- posure. Just make sure that the same amount of light is falling evenly across the grey side of the card as is falling on the scene you are about to photo- graph. They're every- where. March 2012 The Lake & Country Shopper -10 After all, I paid into that sys- tem for many, many years. In- stead, it is expensive and burdensome and consists mostly of treatment of govern- ment-approved disease, not of human health considerations. Why is it that one must qual- ify for Food Stamps before qualifying for any other gov- ernment benefits? And why is it that children seem to need a far higher dollar amount in food stamps than old women? If I had a couple of children under age 18 at home, I could pay my entire grocery bill with food stamps. An elderly un- married woman I know re- ceives about $55 per month in food stamps, up from $16 a couple of months ago. That is supposed to be enough to buy groceries for an entire month? Well, I guess it will buy Cokes, corn chips, bean dip, dried beans and perhaps rice. Why is it that FM 534 is being widened but the narrow ancient bridges are not? Is that not why we pay taxes? To im- prove the bridges? Every time I renew my registration on my pickup truck that I cannot af- ford to drive, there is a bridge fee. What is this all about? Why does TxDot hold up traffic for a vehicle of their own that is smaller than an 18- wheeler to cross a bridge in the name of public safety when 18-wheelers routinely cross those bridges while driv- ers of cars and regular pickup trucks simply have to pray that the driver of the 18-wheeler is both a skillful driver and sober? Why is Obama suggesting a budget that exceeds by more trillion dollars the amount of taxes that will be brought in? Why does the media ignore Ron Paul? Clear Channel Communications owns most of the media. Guess who owns Clear Channel:. Bain Capital, Mitt Romneys company. The Rush Limbaugh Show is owned by Clear Channel no wonder he is not allowed to support Ron Paul. Why does wall street guy Mitt Romney have so much campaign money? Mitt Rom- neys investment background, criticized by some of his Re- publican presidential rivals, is helping him build a financial advantage over them. Rom- neys support from Wall Street goes beyond donations to his campaign. Paul Singer, presi- dent and founder of the New York-based hedge fund Elliott Management Corp., donated $1 million to the pro-Romney Restore Our Future, one of the largest individual donations in the last six months to the super- PAC. Elliott employees also contributed $106,025 to Rom- ney in the last three months. AND Three hedge fund man- agers pitched in $1 million to the pro-Romney PAC: Tiger Managements Julian Robert- son, Elliot Managements Paul Singer and Renaissance Tech- nologys Robert Mercer. Why are there so many peo- ple living in America who do not want to adopt our language and culture? If they dont like it, why dont they just go back where they came from? Why has Fox News Channel moved gradually to the left over the past year? Aside from pressure by Van Jones and George Soros (Media Matters), is Rupert Murdoch forced to fight for survival by pandering to the left? Besides booting er- satz libertarian Glen Beck, Fox has now booted libertarian/con- stitutionalist Andrew Napoli- tano and seems to conveniently forget that Ron Paul is a can- didate for Republican nomina- tion. The idea that America is in trouble and needs saving is nothing new. Liberals have thought this for sometime and have continuously sought sal- vation by growing govern- ment. Conservatives have argued that what America needs saving from is liberals and their destructive policies. Yet the Republican Party has been equally as complicit in expanding government as the Democratic Party. This is what Rick Santorum says about Mitt Romneys big government policies. Its what Romney says about Santorums big gov- ernment policies. And both men are right. The difference between both men and Obama is one of margin, not method. Romney and Santorum simply think they can do a better job of managing big government than Obama. Only Paul actu- ally wants to dismantle big government. This is of particular impor- tance because the rising gener- ation now demands that the politics of old be challenged. As the media continues to con- centrate on the GOP horse race amongst candidates who rep- resent the same establishment consensus, it is Paul who is playing to packed houses at every stop and who continues to attract the masses based purely on the power of his ideas rooted in the American founding. Jack Hunter Why Paul is the Most Electable Against Obama from various sources around the Internet. That one must build coali- tions to win elections is poli- tics 101. The Republican presidential nominee must ap- peal to independents and dis- affected Democrats to be successful. Ronald Reagan did this handily. Barack Obama also did well with independ- ents and disaffected Republi- cans. For Reagan in 1980, much of his success was backlash against Jimmy Carter and Rea- gan capitalized on it. For Obama in 2008, much of his success was backlash against George W. Bush and Obama capitalized on it. Iowa was a perfect exam- ple of Obama benefiting from anti-Bush sentiment. In 2004, Bush barely bested John Kerry, 50% to 49%. Bush was not exactly Mr. Popular in 2004, but Kerry was also a weak candidate. By 2008, America was pretty fed up with Bush and the Republi- cans and Iowa was a micro- cosm of this, giving Obama a decisive 54% to 44% victory over John McCain. In an election where Amer- icans are now just as fed up with Obama as they were with Bush in 2008, where do Iowans stand? Reports The Washington Post: A new Des Moines Register poll shows Rep. Ron Paul (R- Texas) would best President Obama in the Hawkeye State if the general election were held today. In the Iowa Poll, which sur- veyed 611 likely Iowa voters over Feb. 12-15 and had a mar- gin of error of 4 percentage points, Paul would take 49 per- cent to Obamas 42 percent. He is the only one of the GOP White House hopefuls who would defeat Obama in Iowa if the election were held today, according to the survey. Former senator Rick Santo- rum (R-Pa.) would be in a dead heat with Obama, taking 48 Sense Continued from Page 4 Every Saturday Night ! Both candidates are within the margin of error in a potential matchup with Obama. The poll shows Obama with a wide lead over former House speaker Newt Gingrich (R- Ga.). Obama would take 51 percent to Gingrichs 37 per- cent in Iowa if the election were held today Obama is going to campaign against the Republican nomi- nee as a George W. Bush redo. Few if any Americans want to return to the big spending and endless wars of the Bush era. The problem for Obama is, few if any Americans want to remain in the current era of big spending and endless wars. Only Paul represents a re- jection of the bipartisan status quo. Only Ron Paul can change our government and politics in a substantive way that majorities of voters hun- gered for in the last election and continue to crave in 2012. Americans still want the change they were promised. This recent Iowa poll is but a small glimpse of this. All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent. --Thomas Jefferson Allways Chevrolet 02 8. |80NI 8I. dI8I8, IK |38J54I333 88839909I 2004 FORD F150 4X4 #131193A $ 1 2 ,8 8 8 2001 CHEVROLET 3500 FLATBED #183325A $ 9 ,9 9 5 2001 FORD F250 DIESEL #291915B $ 4 ,9 9 5 2011 CHEVROLET MALIBU LT #131193A $ 1 4 ,9 0 0 2007 CHEVROLET 2500 #125709A $ 1 1 ,9 0 0 2001 FORD F150 4X4 #282957B $ 6 ,9 0 0 2010 CHEVROLET 3500 #362420A $ 3 3 ,9 0 0 2008 FORD F150 LARIAT #248384A $ 1 2 ,8 8 8 2004 CHEVROLET 1500 EXT. I find it a lit- tle bit suspicious that this attack in India was executed in the exact same manner as the killing of the Iranian scientist in January. Put these facts together and, please, share them with your friends and loved ones. The group who killed the Iranian scientist is a group known as the Mujahedeen e-Khala (MEK). The U.S. State De- partment has the MEK listed as known terrorists to be re- sponsible for American deaths. As of this moment, there are lobbyists whose main goal is to remove the MEK from the State Departments list of ter- rorists. If terrorism runs ram- pant, then why have an advisor who lobbies for friends to be removed from the enemies list? Mitchell Reiss is currently listed as Romneys senior ad- visor, yet lobbies for the MEK to be delisted from the State Departments terrorist list. Of course, Iran has denied any involvement in the two bombings, and has accused Is- rael of attacking its own peo- ple. Does the statement coming from Tehran hold water? Is it possible that Israel would attack its own people? Is it possible that any revered country would cause harm, or plan to harm its own people? The answer, if observed from an honest unprejudiced per- spective, is regretfully yes. In early February 1933 Ger- manys parliament, the Reich- stag, was set ablaze catapulting Hitler into power. Hitler blamed the inferno on the communists and this helped to further his goal of his fascist regime ruling the world with an iron fist. The threat of com- munism, through propaganda, worried the German people; and through this fear Hitler was able to orchestrate and ex- ecute a false flag against his own country. Wikipedia defines a false flag as covert operations de- signed to deceive the public in such a way that the operations appear as though they are being carried out by other enti- ties. The name is derived from the military concept of flying false colors; that is flying the flag of a country other than one's own. June 5, 1967, the Six-Day War began when Israel launched attacks on Arab countries. The conflict did not involve U.S. interest; however, then, President Lyndon B. Johnson and Israel devised a plan that would draw the U.S. into the conflict. On June 8, 1967 the USS Liberty was at- tacked in the Mediterranean Sea by unmarked aircraft and torpedoes. When Johnson got the call about the attack he re- sponded by refusing aid to the wounded ship stating that he wanted that ship to be at the bottom of the sea. Why would a U.S. president want one of his own naval ships to be sunk? Well it turns out that the attack was perpetrated by Is- raeli forces for the U.S. to blame Egypt for the attacks to enter into the war. Of course this is just a conspiracy the- ory. The attack killed 34 members of the USS Liberty and wounded 170 others. It has also been declassified that Operation Northwoods was intended to kill Americans and blame Cuba to justify a war with the communist coun- try. False flag attacks have been used many times to draw support from the people to at- tack another country. In late 2007, Vice President Dick Ch- eney called for America to build speedboats, slap on Iran- ian flags, and assign Navy Seals to the boats to attack and kill U.S. personnel to substan- tiate a war with Iran. The plan was not highly regarded and was not utilized. The latest false flag attempt to sale the Iranian threat is the thwarted assassination of a Saudi Ambassador on Ameri- can soil. The accused, an Iran- ian-American, Manssor Arbabsiar from Corpus Christi, Texas; has an arrest record in Corpus Christi. Former Police Chief Troy Riggs, along with Nueces County Sheriff Jim Kaelin have both appeared on the local talk show Lago in the Morning. The FBI failed to make inquiries with the Chief or Sheriff. Both the Chief and the Sheriff expressed their ef- forts to contact the FBI with their records of Arbabsiar; only to get a voice mail that was al- ways full. Riggs and Kaelin cannot explain nor comprehend why, with the severity of the al- leged offense, the FBI did not attempt to contact them for in- formation on Arbabsiar. An attack on Iran has been forthcoming for years and Is- rael and America know that Iran will not strike first. Iran knows that the combined forces of the U.S and Israel are more than likely to defeat Iran; how- ever, China has announced that it would support the country that provides much of its en- ergy resources. Can America really afford a war with a grow- ing superpower? There are many reasons as to why the elimination of Iran would better the world, yet none have been credible enough to overthrow a Sover- eign nation. Many conserva- tives rely on the notion that Iran has vowed to wipe Israel of the map, conversely, there are many critics as to the actual translation of Irans President Mahmoud Ahmadinejads words. Some unbiased linguists have translated the speech to define Israel as merely a refer- ence to the regime rather than the Jewish people. Iran may be linked to ter- rorist organizations such as Hezbollah and Hamas, which have been the culprit of many attacks against U.S. and Israeli personnel, but one must hon- estly ask themselves if these supposed attacks are actual ter- rorists attacks, retribution for previous covert attacks, or the worst of all: a false flag attacks to justify military action. Prop- aganda has been building to- wards Iran and it is only a matter of time before the U.S. has a base in Iran and the Iran- ian central bank is under the control of the banking elite. I could go on for pages and pages about how the banking elite view the world as a chess- board and countries as chess pieces, but it would take a book version to describe what coun- try represents which piece on the board. It seems as if the Obama administration is preparing to follow through on Cheneys idea of Iranian boats attacking U.S. ships. U.S. Naval Commander in the Per- sian Gulf Mark Fox has stated that Iran is preparing suicide boats to attack U.S. ships in the gulf. When I hear Commander Fox blueprinting the reason for U.S. involvement, I cannot help but wonder if those supposed Iranian suicide boats are the end result of Cheneys plan to wage war on Iran. An attack of a suicide boat and the sinking of the evidence in the Arabian Sea [maximum depth at 15,262 feet], is the most assured ap- proach to both, disguise and deny a false flag. For most Americans, the words you have waded through may have been diffi- cult to digest. I would hope that my empathy resonates throughout the article and how taking a minute to evaluate the situation from every possible perspective can result in the prevention of another unjusti- fied war. World War III per- haps? While writing this article, the thought has not escaped me that I may be labeled as an anti-Semite, nonetheless, I will not let my criticism of a gov- ernment label me as a bigot. One thing I do not understand is how conservatives can re- fute the fact that if you oppose Obamas policies, Obamanites label you as a racist; although your criticism is based solely on the presidents actions and not on his race. I know as well as you do that anti-Obama does not mean anti-black. Well the same goes for criti- cizing U.S. and Israel policies and actions. Denouncing these policies should not label us as anti-Semite or worse, anti- American. Many people fear a Ron Paul administration as being the most vulnerable because Paul would take the diplomatic approach; which, in many of the republican establishments view, this act could and would be construed as a sign of weakness. A Paul administra- tion would eventually lead to, if strictly adhered to, a more prosperous nation where the common has the ability to cre- ate wealth for his/her family. A true free-market at work is what we strive for. Pauls campaign has col- lected more donations from in- dividuals serving in the U.S. military than all three Republi- can Presidential Candidates and Obama combined. If you really want to support the troops then you would be sup- porting the only candidate who receives more monetary con- tributions from enlisted and re- served U.S. military personnel than any other candidate com- bined. The troops just want to come home and there is a vet- eran vying for the Presidential ticket to bring all our troops home and help put an end to American Imperialism.
