bid
for

second
term
on

Linn
County
Board
of
Supervisors.
Rogers
was
elected
in
2008
on
a
platform
of
flood
recovery,
reducing
county
expenses,
investments
in
public
safety
and
improving
county
roads.
Since
the
flood,
Rogers
has
helped
secure
federal
and
state
resources
that
subsidized
over
85%
of
the
total
cost
of
rebuilding
$80
million
dollars
worth
of
damaged
Linn
County
infrastructure.
Rogers
has
been
a
leading
voice
in
finding
new
efficiencies
to
reduce
County
expenses,
has
helped
maintain
Linn
Countys
Aaa
bond
rating
and
used
his
private
sector
experience
to
streamline
County
operations
through
new
budgeting
processes
and
expanded
use
of
technology.
A
former
volunteer
firefighter,
Rogers
fought
hard
to
maintain
the
Sheriffs
Rescue
57
program,
a
vital
service
for
rural
fire
and
ambulance
departments.
Rogers,
a
strong
advocate
for
public/private
partnerships,
created
the
Urban
County
Coalition;
a
partnership
between
Linn,
Johnson,
Black
Hawk
and
Scott

in
Iowato

change

the
State
legislature.
Rogers
platform
includes
an
unwavering
focus
on
restoring
funding
for
vital
Mental
Health/Developmental
Disability
services
that
were
reduced
by
the
State
in
late
2011.
Rogers

fiscal
responsibility

Linn
County
has

lowest
tax
rate
among
Iowas
largest
urban
counties.
