What is life without change?

What is change if its not for the better?
It is only when you exercise your right to choose that you can also exercise your right to change. Indeed life is one continuing series of decisions and resulting changes. In choosing to pursue a career in business management you have made a critical decision about your life. Congratulations, you have decided to transform your existence and live a life less ordinary. You have made the choice to lead.

Think > Learn > Imbibe > Innovate > Choose > Lead
A world of learning and a plethora of experiences await you within our campuses. Welcome to Jaipuria Institute of Management, welcome to your future.
At Jaipuria Institute of Management, we put you at the heart of the educational process. Knowledge and skills are not imparted in a top down manner from the teacher to you. The curriculum and teaching methodology at Jaipuria requires you, the student, to be an active participant in the teaching-learning process. Discussions, cases, assignments and guest lectures entail you to think and add your own perspective to every bit of theory taught in class. The understanding you develop by getting intellectually involved in the process, naturally, leads to true learning that will be with you for a lifetime. As you employ theories learnt in class to real life work situations you imbibe the nuances of management practices. You realize that one cannot apply principles ad hoc - actual industry challenges require out of the box application of management theory. Therefore, you start to innovate on what you have learnt and imbibed earlier. You choose one course of action over another; you take crucial decisions, change the existing and open up new possibilities. In short, you learn to lead. This is the Jaipuria advantage. We ensure a student who walks onto our campus, walks out as an enlightened and innovative new age leader.

Carving a leader in you

We believe that in order to be good manager, you need good balance between theoretical knowledge, practical experience and soft skills. Therefore, our two year PGDM programme is designed to not only equip you with management principles and experience but also help you develop your personality and soft skills. The four key elements of our educational model are:

Management Knowledge
The process of learning has to begin with active participation from you, the student. Mere memorizing of theoretical principles will not help you in understanding them or in applying them to actual situations. Therefore the in-class sessions at Jaipuria are designed keeping you at the centre of the teaching process. Teachers act as facilitators and mentors. The teaching methodology comprises integrated cases, business simulations, industry immersion and live/ field projects.

Industry Exposure
Your management education would be incomplete without industry exposure. A number of activities at Jaipuria will help you gain a better understanding of the way industry functions. The orientation programme at the beginning of the year will give you a basic overview of industry. Guest lectures and industry scenario sessions will help you understand key issues in the world of business and link theory to real life situations. Industry visits, live minor projects and summer internships are some of the other activities you will be involved in that will help you gain hands on business experience.

20

Managerial Skill Development

This involves class activities, quizzes, written assignments, group discussions, interviews and evaluation which give you ample scope to interact with your peers. Additionally we encourage activities like festivals and management conventions that are not only fun to participate in but also are invaluable in enabling you to develop your people and organizing skills.

Personal Attribute Development

We know that a true leader possesses much more than just a management degree. To be effective, a leader has to have superior soft skills and a way with people. After all, isnt a managers first responsibility to manage people? Therefore, at Jaipuria, we help you develop excellent interpersonal skills through a 360 degrees methodology encompassing everything a manager would need to deal with people. Group discussions, presentations as well as interactions with trained soft skill developers and counselors will help you hone your people and communication skills. You will benefit from regular one-on-one meeting with our trained counselors, who will help you identify your communication weaknesses and convert them into your strengths. We also encourage you to actively participate in campus activities such as events, student magazines, conferences etc. which will help you to develop a well-rounded personality. 21
