Philippines: Remaining its Faith

The only predominantly Christian country in all of Asia is the Philippines. There will be no other greatest gift that someone could ever give except for the life that the Creator has given us. He has assigned to be the stewards of His creation. He has given us the power to rule over all things. But what is happening right now? We human beings are the one to be blame with all the ruins the world has today. But we dont realize it. Instead, we continue doing those things and worse, not just equalizing them but even making those acts the worst they can be. The Reproductive Health Bill is just one of the too many bills that the senate is currently working on. This aims to guarantee universal access to methods and information on birth control and maternal care. This has also been almost present on debates with the common people. Of course, the Philippines as a catholic country, the church cannot help but do something against this. In a way or other, birth control is something sinful and against the teachings of Christ. The RH Bill also contains abortion to be legalized. According to a certain group, the antiabortion stance of the bill is contradicted by the promotion of contraceptive agents (IUD and hormonal contraceptives) which actually act after fertilization and are potentially abortifacient agents. Meaning, in whatever way youll look abortion, it is still abortion or killing an unborn inside the womb of the mother. Another example is, even in times of struggle as well as disasters in life, Filipinos never lose their faith. Like for instance, the whether disaster Undoy, the death penalty for our accused OFWs, we never miss to pray for them simply because we have a strong faith and we always believe that nothing is impossible with the help of God. A strong faith in whatever situation we are facing. And not just only in times of struggles, as well as when we encounter victory. Being the only catholic in Asia, are we not proud of it? Or even not, are we not even afraid of the things that might happen if this bill will be imposed? Yes, we are where we are now because of our own eagerness to be here but does that define us to be immoral in that manner? If no, then prove it!

II.

Why?

I chose this topic because I strongly agreed that Filipino do have a strong faith. I can say that we, as the only catholic in Asia wont encounter problems that are beyond of our strength simply because of our faith that will never fade.

Philosophers Idea

All who call on God in true faith, earnestly from the heart, will certainly be heard, and will receive what they have asked and desired. Martin Luther Faith has to do with things that are not seen and hope with things that are not at hand. Thomas Aquinas That deep emotional conviction of the presence of a superior reasoning power, which is revealed in the incomprehensible universe, forms my idea of God. Albert Einstein God always takes the simplest way. Albert Einstein
