Annotations: The call of the wild (Book Reviews): This article discusses how Kiplings book is full of places,

times and events that are in the world. How the book increases the mind and knowledge of the people. People who read the book are able to learn about the jungle landscape in the 19th century, as well as India, they learn about many animals such as wolves, bears, panthers, tigers, and mongooses. The Jungle Book is a story that has the potential to broaden a readers mind. The Jungle Books (#1): The article talks about Kiplings life and how some of his personal experiences from India were put into the book. It also discusses the plot and characters. For example the protagonist is Mowgli. Another main topic in the articles is about the 1st and 2nd book in the Jungle Books. The first one is the best of all the tales and the second one tells about Mowglis real parents as well as more adventures with Mowgli, Shere Kahn, and Rikkitikki-tavi. The Jungle Books (#2) This article names all of the stories and chapters that are located in the book. It also names the theme of the story; Animal and human interdependence. Another theme is the similar strengths and weaknesses for both humans and animals. Along with this theme there is also the setting which takes place in India. The article also includes a small amount of information about the plot of the story. The Garden and the Jungle: The article talks about the setting, themes, protagonist and/or the hero. Once again the setting is India where the protagonist is from, to be more specific, Imperial British India. The protagonist in the story is Mowgli. In other words, he is the hero of the story. There are a couple of themes from this story. Childhood, education, and nature converge with those of national and imperial identity is one. The other theme is, the young protagonist develops physically, spiritually, and socially in classrooms of nature outside or parallel to mainstream culture. Rudyard Kipling and George Orwell: This is a shorter article that discusses where and what the book was based. The article says that Kipling celebrated the British Imperial ally presence in India, Burma, and South Africa, to children literature. Kipling believed himself to be a chronicler of British Imperialism. Imperialism is being of an empire of imperial means of an empire. The article also says that Kipling is a popular English novelist and shortstory writer and poet. The Jungle Book/Treasure Island/Around: This article is considered to be very critical for the Jungle Book. The article states that the story is filled with so much action that the morals of the book are lost or not payed attention to by the reader. The

author also thinks that the illustrations in the book may e taken offensively. Furthermore, the author thinks that the title is mistitled because the stories only reference to Mowgli. Rudyard Kipling: This article is a lot about Kiplings life. The most important piece of information is that he was born in Bombay, India. This is essential because India is the setting of the book. Not many other parts of his life are contributions to the story. The article also names the characters of the story. Some of these include Mowglie, Baloo, Bagheera, and Shere Khan. It also states that this is one of Kiplings best books due to its exotic settings. Kiplings Singing Voice: Setting the Jungle Books: This is an article with a lot of information but little on the actual book. It mostly discusses the music that goes with the book. Although, it does talk about some things such as the setting which is when the toddle Mowgli just learned to walk. It also talks about how the book is written. In this case the toddler Mowgli must be spoken for but the story skips through eleven years, by this time Mowgli is able to speak for himself in the book. Finally the article touches on the characters, a little bit more on the setting, and the details of Mowglis ability to speak
