This electronic Service Manual supplements the printed Service Manual set for the Hicom 300/ Hicom 300 E PABX systems, and is valid as of Hicom 300 V3.4. The configuration options, and the features (CMs) implemented, can be found in the relevant, version-specific Release Notice and the Software Systems Service documentation.
Notes: 1. In order to avoid problems with the electronic service manual, please read the README.WRI file included on the disk. 2. You can install the service manual on your harddisk. An alternative is to download and install the manual from CD-ROM. For this, start the "setup.exe" file in the basic directory on the CD. The installation assistant guides you through the installation of of both the manual and the basic package of the electronic documentation. 3. After successful installation you can start the electronic service manual from your harddisk or the MO disk/CD-ROM (depending on the selected installation (see note 2)). Start the manual viaStart: Start/Programme/SIEMENS/E-Doku. 4. Alternatively, you can start the manual using the Windows Explorer: double click the file <drive where the basic package is installed>:\e_doku\_nti31\bin\search.exe. 5. Click on the blue terms to activate hypertext jumps. Words in ordinary (black) bold characters are not hypertext links. 6. Once you have found the required topic, simply click on the blue hypertext link, and the appropriate file will appear on your screen. (Note: all files on the appropriate medium are searched.) 8. If you already know the category of the information you require (e.g. Hardware), you can alternatively click the required category in the initial window, and then choose the topic you need from the list of files which appears. 9. If you need information on AMOs, simply click the AMO List. This calls up a list of the AMO "nouns" in alphabetical order. 10. The recent Telekommunikationsordnung TKO of the German Telekom has dispensed with the need for the previous configuration-specific nomenclature. Instead, ISDN telecommunication systems and normal telecommunication systems are differetiated by capacity. Thus, the system names are determined according to the number of ports, independent of the configuration parameters. Apart from the marketing terms, the technical terms may also be encountered in the texts (see also table below). System Program Nomenclature
System versions are defined throughout by using an abbreviated form of the system program number (SP). The value 'x' stands for any number. Example :SP300-V3.3-04.N02 stands for Version 3.3, SW-Version 04, supplement 02. Development Term Marketing Term
