Certification Course in DORN method A Holistic, Effective, Safe & Non-Manipulative Therapy to correct Misalignments in the Spine &

Joints from Germany Developed by Dieter Dorn some 30 years ago in Germany it is now fast becoming the widest used Therapy for Back Pain and many Spinal Disorders in Germany. The Method is featured in numerous books and medical expositions, taught to Medical Students in some Universities. Our skeleton should be symmetrical, harmonic and in a static-dynamic alignment equilibrium. When we 'upset' this 'bone order' then our joints may be moved out of place especially in the spine. The results of long-term 'bone dislocations' are as diverse as there are names for illnesses today.

The DORN Method is based on the correction of uneven leg length which can be diagnosed in almost every human today. Because of that the pelvis becomes twisted, or the twisted pelvis causes this functional leg length discrepancy, and this often results in a asymmetrical, crooked or displaced spinal column. The correction of joint or spinal misalignments is always done in a 'dynamic', a moving action. Our muscles and especially tensed muscles will always try to hold the positions of the joints and spine and when they are out of order the muscles assumes this 'wrong' position as the correct one and hold it there or in some cases even cause the blockage. A static correction e.g. chiropractic, is difficult since it needs to overcome the strength of the holding muscles and the patient is often quite tense since the treatment is done on him and not with him. The Dorn Method uses motion to divert the muscles tension and in this relaxed state it is reasonable easy to re-align the bones. The same principal as when getting sand through a sieve, you need to shake (move) the sieve in order to get the sand through it! Although the therapeutic pressure, which is actually a counter-pressure from the patients side, is encouraging the bones to shift position, the whole functional unit of bones-ligamentsmuscles and other tissues is treated at the same time because of the dynamic situation during this treatment.

Apart from spine, it also related to meridian. There is a special role in connection with the Dorn-Therapy plays the Governor- and the Bladder-meridian. Many such Healing results, achieved with the Dorn-Therapy, can be explained with the Help of the Meridians. Depending on the Location many problems can be connected with disruptions along the Bladder-meridian: Sound in the Ear (Tinnitus), Low Energy-levels (weakness), Neurodermitis, Psoriasis, 'open' legs, Pains in the lower sacrum, the knee, on the back of the legs or on the outside of the ankles as well as cramps in the calves. As soon as the Therapist finds the meridians an vertebrae that corresponds to the complains he will treat the vertebra connected to that organ area as well as all the vertebrae connected to the corresponding Functional Circuit. Positive results are often immediately achieved and with some easy exercises, that the patient does after the treatment, the Dorn Method can bring long lasting relief.

Testimonial As an osteopath who already treated spinal misalignments, The Dorn Method had a huge impact on my practice, because it gave me the tools to address spinal misalignments in a gentle non-invasive way. Wayne Sibson Osteopath, WA ............................................................................................. After just one treatment, my lower back pain for more than 10 years is Gone! 1. MP 53/female with generalized pain in multiple joints particularly in the lower back & legs which causes her to drag her left leg when climbing & going down stairs. The pain also cause

elevation in blood pressure for which she was only given pain relievers and antihypertensive medication. After 1 Dorn session she already doesn't drag her leg when using the stairs. And her pains were significantly reduced. This also caused decrease in her blood pressure. 2. BR 35/female with excruciating low back, buttock and right leg pain which has caused her insomnia for about 2weeks. She already underwent several physical therapy sessions and given steroids but these only afforted slight and temporary relief. After 1 Dorn session she could already sleep better with the pain reduced to only about 30%. 3. BM 63/female with difficulty breathing. She noticed that she cannot do deep breathing for about 2 months. She already tried traditional massage but this didn't afford any relief. After 1 Dorn session she could breathe easily and more deeply. 4. KL 18/male asthmatic with attacks of asthma occurring more frequent in the month prior to consult. After 1 Dorn session the attacks became less frequent and less severe. Regio Sales, MD, Bacolod I had been having on-and-off back pains for several years until I came across the Dorn Method of spinal alignment. During my treatment, I learned that my right leg was slightly longer than my left and performed a simple maneuver to equalize the discrepancy. The therapist then proceeded to work on my back from my pelvis all the way up to my neck until all the individual vertebrae were back in alignment. I immediately noticed a significant improvement after just one session. I also took my wife for treatment after she developed progressive tingling and numbness in her arm after playing badminton. Her condition gradually returned to normal after just one session. I am convinced that the Dorn Method is a safe and effective means of treating various muscular-skeletal disorders. Angel M. Gomez, MD
