Jock Itch - Causes and Treatment

By admin on March 22nd, 2012

Everyone assumes that when we talk about yeast infections that were talking about women, but thats just not the case. You dont hear about men getting yeast infections very often but that doesnt mean it doesnt happen. Sometimes when its discussed, you hear it called Jock Itch. Of course jock itch is not always caused by yeast but that can be one of the causes. Following is a great article that actually explains what jock itch is in great detail:

What causes jock itch?

Jock itch is a basic problem with inflammation of the skin in the groin. This inflammation may be caused by simple mechanical irritation, infections like bacteria and yeasts, or other noninfectious skin conditions. Causes of jock itch include the following: moisture, warmth, and skin friction in the groin folds; tight, occlusive clothing and undergarments that trap in sweat; contact with fungus and yeasts; and contact with bacteria. Different skin infections may include

and does not come with the topical cream that soothes the burning and itching like the other cream products do. If you have used these medications and they did not get rid of your yeast infection or if the yeast infection keeps recurring, you may have a systemic yeast infection. Systemic yeast infection in men can range from mild to extremely dangerous. Our main advice here is DO NOT IGNORE IT. I suffered from systemic yeast infection for 10 years before I was able to successfully diagnose and treat it. I had many of the symptoms listed below including fatigue, toenail fungus and I could not fight off colds, etc.

Yeast Infections and Jock Itch

Jock itch is just one of the ways that yeast infections will present themselves in men. If you are having any of the symptoms above, you can get a diagnosis from your doctor as to what it is because treatment depends on the exact cause of the jock itch. As you can see from the list above, there are many other conditions that can mimic it. If you have had jock itch before, chances are you know how to treat it. If you have never had it, this is the time to have it checked. After all, you dont want to waste time treating something you dont have. Though its not all that common, it is possible to transmit jock itch to another person.

Yeast infection in men is much more common that you think. The reason is that men just dont talk about it like women do. Just because its less talked about doesnt mean its any less irritating for men. Some of the same causes of yeast infection in women apply to men but there are a few that are typically the main contributors of yeast infection in men. Here are those top reasons: Symptoms of yeast infection in men may closely resemble those of Balanitis, another common inflammation of the penis. Be sure to know what youre treating before jumping to conclusions about what condition you have. Yeast infections are not considered a sexually transmitted disease (STD), but it can sometimes be transmitted that way. If your female partner has a vaginal yeast infection, you should not have intercourse until the infection has been successfully treated, otherwise, you may be transferring the infection back and forth. Also, the use of condoms containing nonoxynol-9 may contribute to the female partners yeast problem so make sure you dont use those type of condoms if she is prone to yeast infections. Some lubricants can also be culprits in yeast infections in women. Even though this article is about yeast infection in men, this information is vital so that you know where the infection came from and why the two of you cant seem to get rid of it. Men can use the same over-the-counter medications as women for treating a basic yeast infection. These medications for yeast infection in men are readily available at most drug stores or grocery stores. They are also available by prescription from your doctor, though its no longer necessary. Monistat and other similar medications are very effective in the basic treatment of yeast infection in men. Your doctor can also prescribe an oral medication for yeast infection in men called Diflucan (Fluconazole) to treat the yeast fungal infection. This is not available over the counter

Systemic Yeast Infection in Men Treatment

For those with a systemic yeast infection, the treatment isnt quite as cut and dry as a basic penile yeast infection. The treatment is a multi-fold process that requires strict attention to several things: 1. Cut out Refined Sugar and Yeast from your diet. Yes, thats hard to do, but sugar and yeast feed the yeast infection and if you have a systemic yeast infection, this is the first step in getting rid of yeast infection in men. Continuing to feed the yeast infection will ensure that you always have it. Its a very stubborn condition to get rid of. Cutting out sugar is pretty self explanatory. Cutting out yeast is a little harder to do since so many everyday items contain it. Heres a List of things to avoid: Bread Beer Wine

Most people think of yeast extract as being something to make bread, cakes rise, but youd be surprised how many common grocery items contain it. READ LABELS!! Dont assume that because something is natural or sugar free or fat free, that its healthy. Try to eat unprocessed foods. I find that if I stop around the perimeter of the grocery store I can make the best choices fresh meats, fish, vegetables, eggs, etc. 2. Kill the yeast! Ok, now that you know what you should and should not eat, its time to kill the yeast. Ive never found that medical doctors are very helpful in diagnosing and treating a systemic yeast infection I relied mostly on the information and products supplied by naturopaths and homeopaths. The reason? I rely on natural products because they actually get to the root cause of the problem and give the body what it needs to heal itself instead of a product that simply treats the symptoms but never addresses the reason. The products supplied by medical doctors notoriously treat symptoms and mask the underlying cause of the condition. Thats why you never get rid of the symptoms because the condition itself has not been cured. Theres a product that I highly recommend Yeast Infection No More. It gives you a step by step process to rid yourself of yeast infection in men and its gotten rave reviews. I wish it had been available when I was looking for this information 10 years ago. Its everything you need to know about yeast infection treatment all in one place. Read about it here: Youll probably want to get a homeopathic product to help with killing the yeast infection in men. At the time I was battling this condition, I remember spending $100s each month on this pile of supplements. I took so many I dont even know what really worked, but something did. Now you can get one of the best products out there and it contains everything you need all in one formula so you dont have to do like I did and spend a

ton of money on a lot of different products. It gets incredible reviews Check it out: 3. Take A Pro-Biotic We all have yeast in our bodies and its vital for our overall health. Its when the yeast gets out of control that we have a problem. When youre killing the overgrowth of yeast, its important to maintain some of the good yeast or flora in your body. Taking a good pro-biotic is important. If youre not sure which one to choose, you can find a good selection here:

Yeast Infection in Men Conclusion

Thats a very quick and basic overview of yeast infection in men. Even though it seems like common problem thats more of a nuisance than anything, it can be indicative of a serious underlying condition such as diabetes, cancer or AIDS. This article is not meant to diagnose or treat your yeast infection. Its simply a guide to follow in the event you do have a systemic yeast infection. This is the protocol I followed when I was faced with a systemic yeast infection and it worked for me. As with any medication condition, we recommend that you visit your doctor for a correct diagnosis and treatment of yeast infection in men.

What Causes Oral Thrush?

Most everyone has heard of vaginal and penile yeast infections (aka candida fungus). But did you know that its possible to get a yeast infection in your mouth? Its really pretty common and its called oral thrush. We almost always associate oral thrush with infants but adults can get it, too. Though we all have a small amount of candida present in our mouths, skin and digestive tracts, this is almost always kept in check by our good bacteria in our bodies. Once the balance is disturbed, the yeast or candida can grow rapidly out of control, causing a yeast infection. This can be caused by many things. The most common causes of oral thrush are: Illness / Conditions Stress Medications A Few of the Illnesses and conditions that are known to cause outbreaks of oral thrush include: Diabetes HIV Cancer Dry Mouth Pregnancy (hormonal changes)

Male and Female Yeast Infection Symptoms

By admin on March 22nd, 2012

Yeast infection symptoms vary from person to person and can range from mild to very severe. Yeast infections affect both males and females and there are many causes for them. This article deals with the symptoms of yeast infection but not the causes. To read more detail into the cause of yeast infections, please read this article: Yeast Infection Treatment When found on the skin, the symptoms on men and women are the same but the yeast infection symptoms of the genital area may differ a bit. Lets take a look at the most common yeast infection symptoms of both men and women:

How Do You Know Its Oral Thrush?

Oral thrush can easily be diagnosed by your doctor or dentist by an examination. Sometimes it may require a culture to get the correct diagnosis.

Common Female Yeast Infection Symptoms

The most common symptoms associated with vaginal yeast infections in women are: The vaginal yeast infection can be both internal and external. The external yeast infection typically shows up as a red rash. A more severe external yeast infection can also include white bumps that can resemble small blisters. You should refrain from having intercourse until your yeast infections symptoms are gone. While yeast infections are not considered STDs (sexually transmitted disease), they can be transmitted during intercourse. If you have had unprotected sex while you have a yeast infection, your partner may need to be treated so that you dont pass the infection back and forth. Some condoms that contain the spermicide nonoxynol-9 have been known to cause vaginal yeast infections. If this is the case, try using a condom that doesnt contain it. Because vaginal yeast infection symptoms can closely resemble the symptoms of other conditions such as bacterial vaginosis or trichomoniasis, you should go to the doctor to get the correct diagnosis. After youve been diagnosed and the symptoms return, it is typically safe to seek over-the-counter treatment for your vaginal yeast infection. These treatments are readily available at the local drug store or grocery store and are available without a prescription. Oral medications can be prescribed by your doctor. If your symptoms persist or reoccur frequently, you may have what is termed a systemic yeast infection. You can read more about it and its treatment here: Systemic Yeast Infection

How is Oral Thrush Treated?

In a healthy individual, oral thrush is quite simple to treat by various antifungal medications over a 10 to 14 day period. For those with a weakened immune system, the symptoms can be much more severe and it can be harder to get rid of.

Chronic Thrush How Can You Get Rid of it Completely?

Since Thrush is another form of yeast infection, the same ways of treating systemic and chronic yeast infections of the genitals would apply here. If you are having outbreak after outbreak of any type of yeast infection, including thrush, please take a few minutes and look at the following information that gives great details about how to eradicate chronic and persistent yeast infections/thrush: Thank you for reading this article on oral thrush and we hope it has been helpful to you.

Common Male Symptoms

Yeast

Infection

Yeast infection symptoms for men are very similar to their female counterparts. Though it can certainly happen, a discharge is not as common in men as it is in women. The most common male yeast infections symptoms are: There are many ways of getting a yeast infection and one of the ways is to have unprotected sex with a female who has a vaginal yeast infection. If you find out your partner has a yeast infection, you should look for signs that you have one, too. Sexual transmission of yeast infections is not that common but it can happen. If either of you get treatment, the other should, as well, to prevent the infection from being passed back and forth. Men can also find relief from their yeast infection symptions from the OTC medications found at the drug store. The creams work very quickly to kill the yeast and they can be very soothing to the raw, irritated skin on the penis. There are also oral medications you can get with a doctors prescription if you dont want to deal with the creams. Both are very effective in alleviating yeast infection symptoms. If you have a recurring yeast infection or if you are having more severe symptoms such as toenail fungus, extreme fatigue, fever, constipation, bloating, you may have a systemic yeast infection. infection are mentioned, its typically associated with women. Because men dont always recognize the symptoms or talk about, the actual statistics are unknown as to how many men actually get male yeast infection. Its thought that about 3/4 of all women suffer from it at some time in their lives.

How Do You Get a Male Yeast Infection?

Getting a male yeast infection is easier than you think. It can be the result of many serious things such as diabetes, cancer, or HIV. It can also be the result of the following common reasons:

Symptoms of Male Yeast Infection

The symptoms associated with a male yeast infection are not always as obvious as with women. Women typically get a white discharge with a cottage cheese consistency. Men dont always get a discharge thats as easy to identify. Here are the most common symptoms of male yeast infection: Of course, some of these symptoms can be attributed to other things but if you have one or more of them, you may have a male yeast infection. If youve never been diagnosed with a yeast infection before, its probably wise to visit the doctor to find out if thats what you have. Once youve been diagnosed and at a later time have the same symptoms, its much easier to diagnose and treat yourself without going back to the doctor. Thats what most women do so that they can buy over the counter medications to treat the condition after its diagnosed the first time.

Yeast Infection Symptoms Conclusion

Most genital yeast infections are easily curable and can be treated by medications from the drug store without a prescription. However, if the yeast infection symptoms doesnt go away or if they quickly return or if they are accompanied by other more serious symptoms such as fatigue, fever, innability to fight off illnesses, etc, it could be indicative of a much more serious condition known as a systemic yeast infection. Systemic yeast infection symptoms are much more severe and harder to treat and if ignored, can lead to major health problems and even death. For people who want to take matters in their own hands to get rid of their yeast infection symptoms, we have two recommendations: 5 step program that gives you all the information you need to get rid of your yeast infection: A very popular homeopathic remedy that gets great results: We highly recommend you go to the doctor if youre having more serious yeast infection symptoms.

Male Yeast Infection Treatment

Men can use the same over the counter creams that women use, such as Monistat. These creams are available without a prescription and very fast in helping relieve symptoms such as itching and burning. You can also get the same medications from a doctors prescription. Another alternative from your medical doctor is Diflucan (Fluconazole) which comes in pill form. Its not available without a prescription from your doctor.

But What if Your Male Yeast Infection Doesnt Respond to These Treatments?
If you have a yeast infection and it doesnt respond to the typical treatments we have just discussed or if its chronic and recurring, you may have a systemic yeast infection, which is much more serious. I had what I thought was a normal yeast infection for 10 years. I could not get rid of it no matter what I did. It was embarrassing and depressing. I did not find that my particular doctors (3 of them) were very knowledgeable or helpful in diagnosing and/or treating my systemic yeast infection so I had to do the research and treatment myself. After I was far along the process, I did find an M.D. who was also a Naturopath who did the testing and verified that I had elevated Candida in my system and he agreed with me on my diagnosis and self treatment which Im going to share with you.

Heres something you should know about that. Systemic yeast infections dont respond to the basic medications because you are simply treating the symptoms of an underlying condition. The underlying condition has to be addressed in order to get rid of the male yeast infection. Systemic yeast infections can be mild or they can be extremely serious and even fatal. Ignoring this condition is detrimental to your overall health. If you have several of the following symptoms, you may have a systemic yeast infection: Or even if your condition just doesnt seem to respond at all to the medications, you need to check out this method of treatment:

Male Yeast Infection Conclusion

I hope this article was informative to those of you with male yeast infection. It can be embarrassing to talk about and to ask help for in getting rid of it. As you can see, its not hard to do but depending on the severity of it, you may have to take action to watch what you eat and to purchase a homeopathic product to get rid of it. You may also benefit from a program called Yeast Infection No More which outlines everything you need to know and to do in order to totally get rid of your yeast infection. Check it out here: We do not intend to suggest that you self diagnose and self treat any medical condition. In fact, we suggest that you visit your doctor to determine what condition you may have and the male yeast infection treatment you should follow.

Treatment of Systemic Male Yeast Infection

These is the steps I followed to finally get rid of my yeast infection: 1. Eliminate sugar and yeast from the diet. Its not easy but if you want to get rid of that pesky male yeast infection, youll find a way to do this. Eating sugar and yeast simply feeds the condition and as long as youre feeding it, its not going to go away. Cutting out sugar is pretty cut and dry, but the other foods that need to be eliminated arent always that obvious. Yeast is used in a lot of foods for flavoring so read the labels. Heres a basic list of foods to avoid: Avoid fast food restaurants nothing good comes from them and its a great way to feed the yeast. 2. You Must Kill the Bad Yeast Everyone has yeast in their body and its vital for normal health. But when the yeast gets out of control and theres an overgrowth, thats when the problems begin. In this process, you must help the process along by getting rid of the overgrowth of yeast causing the infection. This can be accomplished by addressing the root cause of the condition and not simply masking the symptoms. I had this condition over 10 years ago and at that time, there wasnt nearly as much information or products formulated to address this problem. Its much easier now. At the time, I spend $100s every month on various supplements and homeopathic remedies. Now theres a much better way of doing this by buying one product that contains a very effective formula for killing the yeast. One such product is Yeastrol. It gets incredible reviews and is one of the most popular products readily available for male yeast infection. Read more about it here: 3. Replenish the Good Bacteria Flora I know that sounds contradictive to what weve talked about so far, but yeast is vital to your bodys health so when killing off the bad yeast, the good bacteria gets killed in the process. Its important to take a pro-biotic to help the good bacteria survive. Its purpose is to fight off infections such as yeast. Heres a resource for choosing one:

Yeast Infections in Children - Answers to Most Common Questions

Questions that Parents Have About Yeast Infections in Children

Yeast infections in children are extremely common and can be caused by many things, primarily contracting the yeast from the mother during birth. Dr. David Perstein wrote an article for Medicine.net that I thought would be valuable to my readers, since its always great to have someone from a trusted source to give us some professional answers to questions that many parents may have about yeast infections in children. Here are some parts of that article that I wanted to share.

How do babies get yeast infections?

Many infants acquire Candida infections from their mothers during the process of birth. Yeast exists naturally in the mothers vagina. When the child is delivered through the birth canal, the baby comes in direct contact with the yeast. Many babies who escape this infection at birth soon acquire Candida from close contact with other family members.

What is oral thrush? What are symptoms and signs of oral thrush?
Thrush is yeast infection of the mouth and throat. Thrush can also be associated with yeast infection of the esophagus. Thrush appears as creamy white, curd-like patches on the tongue and inside of the mouth and back of the throat. As mentioned above, in individuals with impaired immune systems, yeast infections are more common. For example, in a noninfant population, thrush may be a sign of underlying HIV infection.

How do children (and adults) acquire thrush?

Outbreaks of thrush in child-care settings may be the result of an increased use of antibiotics rather than newly acquiredCandida infections. In children (and adults) taking antibiotics or steroids (such as cortisone-related asthma medications), the balance of microbes in the mouth can be disturbed. This may cause an overgrowth ofCandida, which in turn results in oral thrush.

transmitted through the air. And most of the time, a healthy individual wont get a yeast infection from being around a child who has one, especially if they take the necessary precautions by washing hands frequently, etc. I hope you enjoyed reading about yeast infections in children and that this article helped answer many of the questions that you may have.

Nursing mothers are at risk for developing Candida infections on their breasts (this is called mastitis) and can be treated with the same medication that is used for infants.

Should a child with yeast infection be kept out of child care?

There is no need to remove a child with yeast infection from child care. Since most healthy people already harbor Candida, children with thrush and Candida diaper rash do not have to be excluded from child care (as long they are able to participate comfortably). Child-care providers should follow good hygiene, including careful hand washing and disposal of nasal and oral secretions of children with thrush, in order to avoid transmitting the infection to children who may not already be infected.

As I have discussed in many of my articles regarding yeast infections causes, some detergents and fabric softeners may actually be one of the causes of recurrent yeast infections. Especially the products that contain dyes and perfumes. Many people are simply sensitive to these additives. I was reading the following article today and thought Id add it to our arsenal of information used to avoid and eliminate yeast infections. Avoiding scented detergents and fabric softeners to keep you yeast infection free, has much to do with the perfumes used within the detergents and fabric softeners. These perfumes can cause itching and rash with burning upon urination. Many women are sensitive to any unnecessary additives to the cleaning and softening of their cloths. The vaginal or genital area is a very sensitive area in many child, teens, woman and even men making it a more prone place for a yeast infection to become present. As self conscientious women, we are highly in tune with any offending oder from the vaginal area. When we feel uncomfortable we tend to think that we are producing an odor offensive to others. We like to have our clothes smell nice and fresh, when we can smell the freshness we tend to be more confident. Women tend to forget that the vaginal area is prone to yeast infections just by using scented detergents and fabric softeners we increase our risk of yeast infections. Women need to be aware that these perfumes and dyes can irritate the sensitive tissue

Are there other names for yeast infection?

Because yeast infection is due to Candida, it is referred to as candidiasis. Thrush is known as oral candidiasis. The old name forCandida was Monilia. The infection is still sometimes called moniliasis, and thrush is still at times known as oral moniliasis. Source

Yeast Infections in Children Conclusion

I thought the question about whether or not a child should be kept out of child care when they have a yeast infection was an excellent one and I thought his answer was very clear. Yeast infections arent like a common cold or virus that can be

of the vagina. When unnecessary fragrances are used women are at a great risk for irritation to the vaginal area the chances of a yeast infection are significantly increased. I agree with the author that we try to use these nice smelling products so that we emit a pleasant aroma. And I think that during our periods is when we get a little more paranoid. Women are very self conscious about being fresh. Studies show that scented detergents and fabric softeners cause yeast infections Similar studies have shown that yeast infections can be treated without harsh drugs or messy creams.Simple by stopping the use of scented detergents and fabric softeners, adding a healthy natural supplements and eat healthy foods, adding one serving of yogurt to the diet daily helped to balance the yeast within the vagina. Avoiding scented detergents and fabric softeners to keep you yeast free has been shown to be a superior and effective option over purchasing scented products.Yes, the scented products smell good and everyone likes to smell fresh and clean, many times the freshness you are looking for can be obtained by simply hanging your clothes on a clothes line out doors. Source So the gist of our story here is that if you are having recurrent yeast infections and you cant pinpoint the cause, try some simple measures like changing out your laundry detergent. Most of the major brands now offer Free and Clear versions of their detergents which are dye and perfume free. The same goes with scented toilet paper and feminine products such as tampons and pads. It used to be more difficult and expensive to find alternatives but Im starting to see a much better selection of these unscented products in the major stores. These minor changes in your daily life may be one of the best yeast infection treatments for your recurrent yeast problem.

be solely for the purpose of discussing the most common yeast infection causes in men and women. Yeast (aka Candida) is a fungus that lives on every surface of our bodies and only becomes a problem when the yeast gets out of control causing an overgrowth. This is referred to as a yeast infection or Candidiasis. Since yeast loves warm, moist places, these are typically the areas of the body that show signs of an infection such as: A yeast overgrowth can occur for many reasons. While many people have experienced many of the items on the list below, not everyone gets a yeast infection from them. Why some people are more susceptible to these yeast infections causes than others is not really known. The most prevalent yeast infection causes are: Lets discuss some of these yeast infection causes in detail: Antibiotics The overuse of antibiotics is number one on our list of yeast infection causes in women. When the antibiotics kill whatever they were intended to kill, the good bacteria that keeps the yeast in your vagina in checks gets killed as well. This means the yeast is free to flourish and when it does viola! You got yourself a vaginal yeast infection. Antibiotics play the same role in creating yeast infections in men (except for the vagina part . For those who are prone to getting yeast infections after taking antibiotics, you can ask your doctor to prescribe an anti-fungal pill (Diflucan) that you can take at the end of your antiobiotic regimen. This is the easiest thing to do to try to head off a full blown yeast infection. Ive heard that eating yogurt can help stave off a yeast infection but Ive personally never had luck with that. Its worth a shot. Cancer treatments (radiation, chemotherapy, etc.) are also main yeast infection causes because it kills a lot more than just the cancer when introduced into the body. Many times the good bacteria that is present in the body to keep yeast in check is killed when antibiotics and cancer treatments are administered. Any type of IV ports, urinary catheter or any device that is implanted directly into your skin can be a conduit for the yeast to enter your body. Drug addicts using dirty and infected needles often inject yeast directly into their deep tissues and blood stream. Clothing Clothing sometimes plays a part in yeast infection causes. Underwear that is not made of cotton is one of the culprits, as is really tight or dirty clothing these trap moisture and heat, giving the yeast a perfect environment to grow. Pantyhose should be avoided if possible. This is a great excuse for those who like to go without underpants. If you do decide to put some one, ideally they should be undyed and unbleached cotton. Also, did you realize that yeast can live in your underwear? Oh my! Yes, thats one reason many people keep getting recurring infections they keep putting on underwear thats infected. Many experts actually suggest that you go to the trouble to sterilize it somehow like ironing it or boiling it, etc. We dont suggest you put it in the microwave. Some of

our readers have told us the bad (but funny) stories about how they nuked their panties and they actually melted. Chemical Reactions Chemicals are one of the most common yeast infection causes. People dont think about how various chemicals in our clothing, perfumes, toilet paper, douches, scented tampons or pads, and detergents can totally upset the environment in our crotches or that can sometimes set off an allergic reaction, causing a yeast infection. If you find that certain detergents cause an infection, change to one thats unscented. Most of the major brands offer an unscented version now. Same with toilet paper switch to one thats either unscented or eco friendly. Women should never douche with any type of premade douche product. Douching was probably invented by a man. Its harsh to the vagina and does more harm than good. Condoms It has been suggested by more an just a few women that every time they come into contact with a condom containing the spermicide nonoxynol-9, they get a raging yeast infection. If you see this happening, switch to a brand that doesnt contain any spermicide and see if that makes a difference. Various lubricants may be yeast infection causes, as well. Hormones Many women get yeast infections due to hormonal changes. Hormonal changes are common yeast infection causes in pregnant women and women who are taking birth control pills. Its also a big problem for women going through menopause. Many girls get an infection every month during their period. Unfortunately, Im not sure of a fix for yeast infections due to hormones. Diet Its been said that sugar and foods containing yeast actually feed the yeast overgrowth and perpetuate the problem. While some people may disagree that our diets contribute to the list of yeast infection causes, I wholeheartedly believe that they do. After having a yeast infection for 10 years, I never got totally rid of it until I cleaned up my diet. I have written another post that goes into what to eat/not to eat so I wont repeat myself here. Symptoms and Treatment Chronic Yeast Infections

of

Anyone who suffers from chronic yeast infections knows how frustrating it is to think youve gotten rid of it and the next thing you know, its back. One yeast infection is bad, but having them reoccur time after time is maddening. Lets cover the types of chronic yeast infections that may be simple to get rid of first, then well cover the really hard chronic yeast infections.

Chronic Yeast Infections Which May Be Easy to Treat

Some yeast infections are chronic because of things we are doing that can easily be remedied. Underwear and Tight Fitting Pants. Wearing white, nonbleached underwear that isnt skin tight is a good start. You see, yeast loves a warm, moist area and tight fitting underwear and pants provides just that. You need to let your stuff breathe. Also, the dyes and chemicals found in colored underwear sometimes causes an allergic reaction that results in an overgrowth of yeast. Antibiotics. Probably the #1 reason for all chronic yeast infections. This is because the antibiotics kill all the good bacteria thats responsible for keeping the yeast population under control. Once this is destroyed, the yeast has carte blanche to take over and in most cases, it does. If youre under a doctors care and are having to take antibiotics, theres not much you can do but to ask them to also prescribe an oral antifungal medication called Diflucan. You should also be taking a good pro-biotic to help replenish the good flora the bacteria thats needed to help you combat the yeast. Steroids. Most people think of athletes and bodybuilders taking some black market steroids but there are many common medications that contain steroids as well. You may not be aware that many asthma inhalers contain steroids. Steroids are also used to treat other inflamations. If you are currently on steroids and have had chronic yeast infections, this is probably one of your problems. Ask your doctor is there are any alternatives to the steroids. If they say no, find another doctor that understands what youre going through. In my experience, doctors who take yeast seriously are not easy to find but they are out there. I lucked out and found an M.D. who was also a Naturopathic Doctor. Hormonal Changes. Many times, hormones cause chronic yeast infections. This can occur when women are pregnant, on

their period and during menopause. If this is the basis for your chronic yeast infections, this should be addressed with a very knowledgeable OB/GYN. Condoms and lubricants. Condoms that contain the spermicide nonoxynol-9 have been known to cause yeast infections. Lubricants can also be the cause. If you notice that youre having chronic yeast infections every time you have sex, try changing out these two things if you use them. Also, stop having sex during an active yeast infection. The infection causes that area to be very sensitive anyway and the friction doesnt help. For those who dont use condoms If you have a yeast infection and have gotten treatment but your partner has not, chances are that youre just passing it back and forth to each other. Both of you need to get treatment. Not all yeast infections come with symptoms. Its possible to be a carrier without any symptoms at all.

I was tired all the time. I had no energy even though I was only in my 30s. I had no sex drive at all that may have been due to the fact it was painful and embarrassing. Im not really sure. I was sick and tired of being sick and tired so I decided to do something about it once and for all! I took matters into my own hands and started searching the internet for any information I could find about chronic yeast infections. This was 10 years ago so the information wasnt as easily accessible as it is today. But I dug and dug and I finally found what I needed in about 10 different places. What I found was that my chronic yeast infections were basically a systemic yeast infection. In other words, my vaginal yeast infection, my toenail fungus, my immune disorders and fatigue were all part of this systemic yeast infection they were all just symptoms of a much bigger problem. My problem was system-wide. Systemic yeast infections are dangerous if left untreated. I understood this so I dug around to find out what I could do or take in order to get rid of it. What I found was that it was not going to be easy but it was do-able. A little side note here: Some systemic yeast infections that are due to HIV, cancer, organ transplants, etc. are much more serious than the one I had and these should not be taken lightly. We highly recommend being under a doctors care if this is the case. My first step was to stop feeding the fungus. I decided to go all out because I was so determined to beat this. I cut out all sugar and yeast from my diet. The sugar wasnt that hard, but so many foods contain yeast that was the hardest part. But I was determined to get rid of my chronic yeast infections. I researched healthy anti-yeast diets and I got on one and stuck to it. I found that shopping around the outside perimeter of the grocery store was the best place to buy foods that were whole and fresh not processed and canned. I stopped most of my drinking. Not that I was a big drinker but I do love to have a glass of wine or two when I get together with my friends. That was out so was beer. Next I had to find various homeopathic remedies that would help me to fight my chronic yeast infections at the source, not just mask my symptoms. I spent $100s per month on various supplements and I never missed taking them. There are much better alternatives available today that I didnt have access to then. These formulas contain the ingredients that help your body fight the yeast and they are very effective. Theyre inexpensive, too, which is great. It took months for me to start seeing and feeling the effects of my efforts and I was encouraged. In fact, I was so encouraged that I continued my very strict routine for 2 years. However, after only a few months, I was seeing improvement in my chronic yeast infections. My vaginal yeast infection was gone, my toenails were clearing up, my immune system was working correctly and I had more energy than Id had in years.

Chronic Yeast Infections Which are More Difficult

Chronic yeast infections are depressing and embarrassing. I know from experience I had chronic yeast infections for 10 years before I finally found a yeast infection treatment to get rid of it once and for all. This is my story. I happen to be female but what Im about to tell you also affects men, as well. I went to multiple doctors and tried various prescription medications, some over the counter products I found at the drug store, but nothing worked. I was miserable. Little did I know that some of my other problems were very much related to my chronic yeast infections. I had a toenail fungus for which I had taken two rounds of very strong medication to get rid of. It was so strong that I had to go in every month to have bloodwork done to see if it was affecting my liver. I finally had a doctor tell me they personally wouldnt risk taking it, so I stopped. The toenail fungus was highly embarrassing. I was very susceptible to any cold or virus going around. I was constantly sick and in the doctors offices. Most of the illnesses required antibiotics which I didnt realize at the time were big time culprits for causing yeast problems or making the situation worse. One illness required a steroid shot to open up my breathing passages double whammy antibiotics AND steroids!!

Chronic Yeast Infections Conclusion

Now Im certainly not saying it will take you 2 years to see results thats just what I did because I didnt want to regress before I got totally rid of my problem. I was over being sick.

a yeast infection for some time, it is possible for the yeast to be living in your underwear, even though youve washed them. Always wash your underwear in hot water. Some people say to put it in the microwave but that can melt some fabrics. If you want to ensure youre doing all you can to get rid of your yeast infection, you can always boil the underwear. 5. Perfumes, Scented Items. Im not sure why the manufacturers think its necessary to put scents into everything but they do. Sometimes yeast infections are due to allergies and reactions to chemicals in our detergents, perfumes, toilet paper, tampons, etc. This is something else you can do to cut down the chances of recurrent yeast infections. Lifestyle Changes to Help Get Rid of Your Yeast Infection

1. Sugar and Starchy Carbohydrates. Yeast loves sugar and the more you eat, the more it grows. Since this is counterproductive to our goal to get rid of your yeast infection, youll have to make some changes in your diet. This may seem hard at first because youll be pretty limited in your eating choices, but if you want to get rid of your yeast infection, youll have to make some concessions. For a comprehensive list of what you should/should not eat, click here: 2. Foods Containing Yeast. When you start paying attention to food labels, youll be shocked to find out how many processed foods contain yeast. Stay away from yeast. The best way to avoid yeast is to stick with unprocessed foods. Read labels! 3. Alcohol. This wont be easy for some people to do without. But think about how much yeast and sugar goes into making alcoholic beverages. And if youre into mixing liquor with something, the mixers probably contain sugar. Just be careful and if you have to drink, stay away from beer. 4. Underwear Made of Synthetic Fabrics. Yeast loves a good dark, moist place so if youre wearing underwear that doesnt breathe, then youre giving the yeast a great environment to breed. Being aware of this type of clothing choice will help you get rid of your yeast infection sooner. Also, if you have had

Yeast Infection During Pregnancy

By admin on March 22nd, 2012

Three out of every four women will have a yeast infection sometime during their lifetime. Those odds are even greater that you will have a yeast infection during pregnancy. The reason is that one of the major causes of yeast infections is hormonal change or imbalance pregnancy, menstruation, menopause, etc. But the good news is that most of these yeast infections are not serious and they can be very easy to treat. I ran across an article by Dr. Roger W. Harms of the Mayo Clinic that I thought Id share with you. Its always good to see what a highly regarded M.D. has to say on the subject of safety. The article from Dr. Harms does say that pregnant women can use the OTC yeast infection medications to safely treat their infection while they are pregnant. I know this is a subject that a lot of women are interested in hearing about so I included it here for you to read: You can safely treat a yeast infection during pregnancy with various over-the-counter antifungal creams or suppositories, including: Miconazole (Monistat) Clotrimazole (Gyne-Lotrimin)

These products can be used at any point during pregnancy and dont pose a risk of birth defects or other pregnancy complications. For best results, choose a seven-day formula. Home remedies or natural treatments generally arent recommended. Yeast infections, a type of vaginitis, occur when certain internal or external factors change the normal environment of the vagina and trigger an overgrowth of a microscopic fungus often C. albicans. Yeast infections are especially common during pregnancy due to hormonal changes. Signs and symptoms of a yeast infection typically include vaginal itching and a white, thick discharge that resembles cottage cheese. If you havent been previously diagnosed with a yeast infection and develop symptoms for the first time during pregnancy, consult your health care provider before using an over-the-counter yeast infection treatment. Its possible to mistake a yeast infection for other types of vaginitis or other conditions that need different treatment. Source While Dr. Harms is right about the safety of treating a yeast infection with OTC medications while pregnant, there is more to this subject that wasnt addressed here. In his defense, the question asked only about using OTC treatments. As many of you know, some yeast infections are chronic and systemic and respond to no types of treatment, not even the ones prescribed by your doctor. If you have one of these types of yeast infections, it may be time to do more than purchase Monistat. Read over the symptoms of systemic yeast infection here: Systemic Yeast Infection If youve tried repeatedly to get rid of your yeast infection during pregnancy and have had no luck, you may need to gather more information on the subject and follow some homeopathic advice to get rid of the infection. Of course, we always recommend you consult with your doctor before taking any medications prescribed or homeopathic while pregnant. Even though some remedies may be natural herbs, they can still have an effect on your unborn child. Another piece of advice I have is to have a look at Yeast Infection No More, a complete guide to getting rid of and preventing future yeast infections from happening. Its awesome and it really works. Go here to read about it: Yeast Infection No More Its hard enough to go through 9 months of being pregnant and if you are suffering from recurrent yeast infection during pregnancy, you are probably more miserable than normal. It doesnt have to be this way. Find out how to safely and effectively treat your yeast infection during pregnancy.

Vagisil Yeast Infection Screening Kits

Avoid Misdiagnosis by Using the Vagisil Yeast Infection Screening Kits

Youve probably seen the Vagisil yeast infection screening kits on the drug store shelves, right next to the yeast infection creams and suppositories. I think its really great that theyve made them available this way. Otherwise, you can either guess at your diagnosis and spend your money on something that is not going to help you. Unless, of course, you want to spend the afternoon in the doctors waiting room. And what is it about going to the GYN that we hate to do? Vagisil came out with this great little kit that you can do in the privacy of your own home. Other companies have come out with their versions, as well. I dont think it really matters which one you choose as long as they are reputable like Vagisil.

On the official site for the Vagisil Screening Kit, they say: This number is your vaginal pH. A pH of 4.5 with the symptoms of itching, burning, unusual odor or discharge may be a yeast infection. A pH of 5.0 -7.5 may indicate you have a different kind of vaginal infection. The chart below can be helpful. It is not for diagnosis since infections vary in the way they manifest, but it may be helpful when discussing your symptoms and pH with your doctor. They supply you with testing strips that you compare to a chart. The testing strip will turn a particular color and then based on that color, you know if you have a yeast infection or a bacterial infection. The yeast infection creams that you buy will do nothing for a bacterial infection except irritate it even more. They also say: Much like other parts of the body, a womans vagina has a pH. A healthy vagina is slightly acidic, with a pH usually in the range of 3.5 to 4.5. A normal vaginal pH measures 4.5 with this kit. The acidity of the vagina helps control bacteria and prevents the infection-causing types of bacteria that like a high pH from overgrowing. When vaginal pH is above its normal range, it may indicate a bacterial infection. There usually are symptoms with an infection. The Vagisil Screening Kit is intended for use by women who have itching, burning, unpleasant odor or unusual discharge. It does not identify specific causes or types of infections. Only your doctor can do that.

Conventional Cures?

Yeast

Infection

I guess the answer to the first part of that question could go either way Do conventional yeast infection cures work? If your yeast infection is a genital yeast infection and its pretty much contained there, then the typical yeast infection creams, suppositories and pills will more than likely take care of your problem. But then, if youre reading this article, chances are high that your yeast infection is not that easy to get rid of. If youve tried and failed to get rid of your yeast infection by using these conventional methods, then its time to step it up and get to the root of the problem. After all, if you continue to treat symptoms instead of the root cause, you will never get rid of it. If you read any of the other posts on this blog, youd know that I am not very conventional when it comes to yeast infections cures. I struggled for years trying to get rid of mine and was very frustrated and depressed that I could not get rid of it no matter what I did. I asked my doctor for help and all I got was a blank stare. I changed doctors several times and no one really went the extra mile to help me. After all, it was just a yeast infection, right? Non-Conventional Yeast Infection = Non-Conventional Yeast Infection Cures It was not until I started my own research that I decided that conventional methods were just not cutting it for me that I had to find alternative treatments to get rid of my infection once and for all. I looked to the homeopathic community for answers and boy did I find them.

Vagisil Yeast Infection Screening Kits Conclusion

I think this is an excellent alternative to going to the doctor for a diagnosis. Were busy and we tend to put off going so the problem just gets worse and worst. At least now you have the option to buy one of the Vagisil Yeast Infection Screening Kits and find out if what you have is yeast or bacteria before you waste your money.

Non-Conventional Yeast Infection Cures Finally Success!!

What I discovered was that I was suffering from a systemic yeast infection not just a vaginal yeast infection. My infection was system wide and was causing me a lot of other problems that I didnt even associate with yeast. For instance, I was tired all the time, dragging around. I had a toenail fungus that I had gone through two rounds of Lamisil to get rid of. It kept coming back. I was sick a lot. I couldnt resist any illness that was going around. I was miserable. My first order of business was to get the information from various sites, sort it and find the common threads in the advice. All of the advice I found said you had to stop feeding the yeast. This meant I had to clean up my diet and cut out sugar and refined carbs. There was a huge list of food I couldnt eat and a much smaller list of foods I could eat. You can get an idea here: Yeast Free Diet Then I had to find just the right combination of homeopathic products to kill the yeast in my body. I spent a bloody fortune and I was taking about 5 different things. I was determined to get rid of this once and for all so I didnt really care what it cost me. Having this infection was costing me much more. These days, there are much cheaper alternatives that I didnt have access to. I also started taking a good probiotic to replenish the good flora in my system that I was killing off, along with the yeast.

How Yeastrol Can Help You Get Rid of Your Yeast Infection
I am constantly telling people that you have to address the root cause of the yeast infection and not just the symptoms so thats why I thought Id add an article here about Yeastrol. Its an unfortunate truth that once you start having yeast infections, its likely youll keep having them until you figure out whats causing them. Which Candidiasis Should You Choose?

Treatment

You will most likely resonate with one particular yeast infection treatment or another and thats the one youll choose, but please beware of this. A yeast infection that has gone beyond just a genital or mouth infection is going to take some time to get rid of. The reason for this is that it may now be systemic meaning its in your system and its most likely throughout your body. This is why your symptoms more severe than just a vaginal or penile yeast infection. Its also

relief from the outward symptoms such as rash, itching, burning and discharge but they do nothing to get the yeast population in your body under control. In some cases, these creams are very harsh and will cause a chemical burn so any relief may be short-lived. Yeastrol is not another product that masks the symptoms, its a way to help your body rebalance itself and to get the yeast population back to normal (yes, we all have yeast in our bodies its the overgrowth that becomes a problem). Using a formula like Yeastrol is necessary in fighting the battle.

Try Yeatrol. Give it a few months to work its magic. You didnt get your chronic yeast infection overnight and it wont go away that fast either. Give it a chance. Give yourself a chance.

Buy Yeastrol from the Official Site

My advice is to buy Yeastrol from the source and not some third party outlet. You never know how old the product is or if its the real thing. As you are well aware, people will try to scam you with counterfeit products that arent safe. Buying direct assures you that youre getting the quality product youre wanting. Yeastrol also offers a return policy for the product. Check it out here: Here are the packages they offer. As you can see, the more you buy, the less it costs. Dont be fooled into thinking youre going to get rid of this in one month.

How Does Yeastrol Work?

Yeastrol is a homeopathic product comprised of 12 different all natural ingredients. Its a product thats been successfully used by both men and women to get rid of their recurrent yeast infections. It helps to balance out your body so it can do what it does best heal itself. Our bodies are miraculous and we have the innate ability to heal ourselves. When the body is out of balance, it cannot function as its designed to. If the yeast is left to overgrow, they cause very severe problems for us it goes well beyond a genital yeast infection. Yeastrol will not only help with your symptoms, it will address the root of the problem and will help to eliminate the overgrowth of yeast in your system. This will put a stop to the symptoms that you have been experiencing the burning, itching, discharge, rash, fatigue, toenail fungus, etc. Yeastrol literally works from the inside out.

Why Choose Formula?

Homeopathic

Before the days of modern medicine, everyone use homeopathic remedies. Everyone knows the Chinese are still masters at doing this. These homeopathic medicines actually assist the body in functioning as it should they do not just mask symptoms. When modern medicine took over, we started this terrible habit of treating outward symptoms a pill for this, a pill for that, but the cause of the problem still remains.

You Do Not Have to Live With Yeast Infections

I know from first hand experience how bad chronic yeast infections can be. I had one for 10 years and went to several different doctors for help. They werent all that concerned after all, it was just a yeast infection. But not once did they suggest it might be something more, that it might be a systemic yeast infection. When I brought up the idea, it was quickly shot down. I had to do my research online and at the time, there wasnt that much of it available. Also, finding the right homeopathic products we more difficult, as well. If you will do the steps I outlined in my post Yeast Infection Home Remedy, you will more than likely be able to get rid of your chronic yeast infection. You will need a product or supplement that helps you to fight the yeast while you do your part in making some lifestyle changes. It cant be avoided. What I found was that I was constantly treating symptoms but never really addressing the problem. By continuing to eat the wrong foods, I was simply feeding the yeast. You may think that the diet Im going to outline is extreme and it is. But an extreme yeast free diet is necessary in order to eradicate the yeast overgrowth and stop the symptoms from coming back. heres another one I did my yeast free diet in 3 different steps. I think these will make sense for you, as well. The 3 steps are: 1. Stop eating ALL sugar and foods containing yeast 2. Reintroduction of some foods check for any adverse reactions or signs of yeast infection 3. Maintain your yeast free lifestyle by only eating foods that dont affect you

Yeast Free Diet Step 1 Cut out ALL sugar and yeast
and one more from a man! This includes (but is not limited to) cutting out the following: Refined sugar Most fruits (yes, they contain natural sugar) Fruit juices Coffee (yikes) Soda

How to Use Yeastrol

Since Yeastrol is 100% natural, it is safe for all adults and children over the age of 12. As with any OTC product, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult a doctor before using. The same holds true for anyone with any type of illness check with your doctor to be sure. Yeatrol is a very simple product to use. Simply spray it underneath the tongue 3 times a day. Thats it! Thank you for visiting our site and we hope youll give Yeastrol a try.

Alcohol Black Tea Yeast containing foods (check labels) Refined Carbohydrates such as pasta, rice Starchy Vegetables Pork Most canned and processed foods Fungus mushrooms Fermented foods Smoked/Processed Meats Nuts Peanut Butter Dairy products Grains Artificial sweeteners use Stevia instead Vegetables pickled in white vinegar Condiments This is not a complete list for a yeast free diet, but it will give you a good idea of the types of foods that actually encourage the overgrowth of yeast.

Yeast Free Diet

A yeast free diet is a very important step in eliminating yeast infections, especially those that are recurring or systemic. This was a step I tried to skip when I was going through the process.

Stay away from fast food. There is nothing in the fast food restaurants that will help you here.

But What Can I Eat? Obviously, your selection will be very limited for a few weeks but there are still plenty of tasty meal options for you. You should focus on meat (almost any type), fish, vegetables, legumes and some nuts. Slim list, huh? Youll be surprised at how creative you get. For instance, if you have to go out to eat with friends or family, just try ordering a meat with vegetable on the side, no bread or starchy sides. You can even order a hamburger with no bun. Buy whole foods that have not been processed. I found that shopping around the outside perimeter of the grocery store was the best place to find foods that I could eat. There youll find nutrient rich, whole, and organic foods. It may seem logical that canned vegetables are good alternatives, but youd be surprised at how much yeast and sodium is in processed foods. If you have to have pre-packaged foods, try frozen vegetables instead. Here are a list of foods that are allowed in this restrictive phase of your yeast free diet: Organic Meat (not processed) Fish Eggs Whole grain oatmeal and pasta; corn, rice or spelt pasta. Legumes soaked and/or sprouted Organic fresh herbs Most Vegetables Some Nuts and seeds (unprocessed) Olive Oil Candida Die-Off As you get into your yeast free diet and start taking naturopathic or prescribed medications for killing the yeast, youll notice some things happening in your body. First of all you will get incredibly tired. Dont panic, this is totally normal. I can remember how I felt and it wasnt good but it will pass and when it does you will feel amazing. You should start feeling much better during this first phase after about 2 weeks but dont let that fool you into thinking youve got this beat. If you can just follow these directions, you wont have to keep starting at this extreme phase.

Heres a list of some of the foods that will most likely not be a huge problem if you re-introduce them into your yeast free diet. Since everyone responds differently, you will need to experiment with these. Sweet Potatoes Cooked Carrots Beets Pumpkin Peas Grains/Seeds Some organic fruits: apples blueberry peaches grapefruits pineapples pears raspberries strawberries Drink Water While you are on your yeast free diet, you should drink plenty of water. Make sure the water is purified so if you dont have some type of water purification system in your home, buy the bottled kind.

Yeast Free Maintenance

Diet

Step

After youve successfully used your yeast free diet to help get rid of your yeast problem and have started re-introducing foods into your diet, you should always be aware of any symptoms that might start creeping back. If you will pay close attention to your body, you will probably be able to pinpoint which foods are causing you problems. When you notice any changes, stop eating those foods immediately. If you simply start eating everything you did before you went on the yeast free diet, chances are really high that youre going to relapse and have to start all over. Theres no need in having to start from square one. And most people will be able to go back to a normal diet after several months of the yeast free diet. No one can predict how long it will take for your yeast overgrowth to be under control so youll have to monitor your progress. After all who knows your body better than you?

Yeast Free Diet Step Reintroduction of Foods

After a few weeks of being on the ultra restrictive yeast free diet, you can start re-introducing things into your diet to test your reaction to them. Start slowly and only add one thing at a time. That way youll know exactly which foods trigger your yeast reactions. If you notice any of your symptoms coming back, stop eating that food. Wait a few days and see what happens. If you are not experiencing any symptoms, try introducing a different food. Rinse and repeat.

Drugs, Smoking and Alcohol Usage

Alcohol is certainly on the list of foods to be avoided on your yeast free diet. Taking drugs and smoking are two other habits that tend to negatively affect the bodys immune system. It is

Prescription Drugs
Antibiotics and steroids (anabolic and corticosteroids) are two of the most common causes of yeast infections. Those who have been on either of these for an extended period of time are most susceptible. If you are taking these types of medications while trying to fight your yeast infection, youre probably fighting a losing battle. Talk to your doctor to see if there are any alternatives for you.

Find a Homeopathic Remedy

Im a huge fan of homeopathic medicine because the idea behind it is to give your body what it needs in order to function at its very best. After all, the body has the innate ability to heal itself. After weve abused it for years, that ability to heal itself has diminished, but we can get it back. When I was trying to get rid of my yeast problem that Id had for 10 years, I was on a very restrictive yeast free diet for quite a while. During that time I took several homeopathic remedies to help kill off the yeast. This combination was the only things that worked for me and Ive spoken to many others who say the same thing Kill the yeast and stop feeding it and do it at the same time. One of the best homeopathic remedies that I highly recommend is Yeastrol. You can do some research but it gets rave reviews from both men and women. Check it out here:

Yeast Free Diet Conclusion

One of the side effects of my yeast free diet was that I lost weight and actually stopped craving sugar. I didnt eat it for years but not because I couldnt, because I didnt want it. These days I can safely have a dessert after dinner if I want and I dont have any adverse reactions to it. If youd like to have a step by step guide to follow, in addition to tons more information, you can find a program online called . How do you get a yeast infection by taking antibiotics? The antibiotics you take for various conditions dont just kill the bad stuff, it also kills the good bacteria in your body thats responsible for keeping other things in control such as yeast. If the good bacteria is killed off, the yeast has the ability to grow without limits and this overgrowth is what causes your yeast infection. How do you get a yeast infection by taking steroids? Steroids (Anabolic steroids) are typically thought of as something that bodybuilders use but there is another type of steroid as well that is widely used. Those are Corticosteroids and they are typically prescribed to manage inflammation in the body. One of the main reasons that steroids of any type cause yeast infections is that they increase the sugar (glucose) levels in the blood. The increase of sugar in the body changes your natural ph balance, which makes a perfect environment for a yeast

infection. Steroids also cause hormonal changes that can also be responsible for yeast infections. Condoms can cause yeast infections. So how do you get a yeast infection from using condoms? Some women and some men have a reaction to various types of latex. Its also a known fact that condoms containing the spermicide nonoxynol-9 cause vaginal and anal yeast infections. If youre noticing that you get a yeast infection after having sex using a condom, try changing brands, types of latex, etc. You should also be aware of your lubricant choice and try other types if you think this could be causing the problem. Being diabetic can reason enough for getting yeast infections. Diabetics have an increased level of blood sugar and this is the main cause of yeast infections in people with diabetes. Diabetics may find that since their ability to fight off infections is stunted, that they have a hard time getting rid of yeast infections. The same protocols that are used to treat people without diabetes also work for those with diabetes. Diets high in yeast and sugar are one of the top reasons for how do you get a yeast infection. Most detergent manufacturers are making unscented detergents these days to meet the needs of those people who are having adverse reactions to the scented products. How Do You Get a Yeast Infection Men

Another important factor in why men get yeast infections is poor personal hygiene. Though poor personal hygiene can certainly lead to yeast infections in both men and women, it seems to really cause a problem in men. And those men who are uncircumcised are the most vulnerable. Yeast loves a moist, warm environment and the extra foreskin of an uncircumcised penis is the perfect place for it to live and grow. If youre an uncircumcised male, its imperative that you keep your penis clean and dry. Its more work for you than those that are circumcised but it will prevent yeast infections and also any pungent odors.

Eradicate Your Candida with Yeast Infection Home Remedy

Chronic / Recurring Yeast Infections

If you are having chonic, recurring yeast infections, you are probably desperate for an effective yeast infection home remedy because you know the OTC meds and the ones presribed by your doctor just dont get to the root of the problem. The biggest problem with these types of infections is that you can actually pass them back and forth with your sexual partner so you get in a vicious cycle of treating, reinfecting, treating, reinfecting, etc. Now, yeast infections are not considered STDs; however, they can certainly be transmitted that way. A lot of men just dont get them and were not sure why maybe their bodies are better at killing off the yeast. But when men do get them, they have many of the same problems as women itching, burning, rash and sometimes they get the discharge as well. Men can use the same medications as women to eliminate the problem, but on occasion, these medications dont work for them either. Thats where a yeast infection home remedy comes into play to find the root cause and stop it. If you simply continue to treat the symptoms, you will never get rid of it.

If youre sick and tired of having chronic yeast infections and if youve spent a ton of money on products that dont work, maybe its time for a yeast infection home remedy. A home remedy may seem a little too far from the norm, but if you open your mind to naturopathic medicine, you will see that you can actually treat the root of the problem and not simply treat symptoms as they occur. By doing this, you will stop having those recurring yeast infection problems. There are many yeast infection home remedy choices. Well cover a few in this article. Keep in mind that there are varying degrees of yeast infections that must be taken into account and each of these can be treated by using a yeast infection home remedy. First, theres the type that mainly causes problem in the genitals vaginal yeast infections and penile yeast infections. For the most part, these are easily treatable, either by OTC medications or by using a yeast infection home remedy. Then theres the recurring or chronic instances of yeast infection that never really seem to go away or come back right after having sex, your period, etc. These may still be considered normal yeast infections but, believe me, there is nothing about a yeast infection thats normal when its you having them. And the last type were going to cover are the chronic/systemic yeast infections that have more varying symptoms than just your run of the mill vaginal or penile yeast infection.

Systemic Yeast Infections

The next level of yeast infections is systemic or Candidemia A systemic yeast infection can sometimes be life-threatening, but its very possible to have a milder version of it, as I did. A systemic yeast infection is when the yeast overgrowth is throughout your body and is typically causing other problems, in addition to your genital yeast infection. You may have one or more of the following symptoms: My systemic yeast infection was what drove me to find a yeast infection home remedy because the doctors just werent getting the job done. Yeast infection home remedy advice centers around various herbs and supplements that will actually help to stop the overgrowth of yeast in your body. Most of the advice also includes various suggestions as to lifestyle changes you can make in order to eliminate the infection and stop the cycle. Im a fan of using both these yeast infection home remedy tactics in conjunction with each other. Thats the only thing that helped me get rid of my yeast infection that Id had for 10 years. First you need to find a good anti-yeast supplement that will kill off the overgrowth of yeast. When I was in the market for such a product, none existed. I had to do extensive research and find multiple products that did the trick. Now its much more convenient to only have one product to use. The most popular product right now is called Yeastrol. It gets really rave reviews and had helped a ton of people get rid of their yeast problem men and women. You can read about it here:
