DEHSCOFIX

High Range Water Reducer - Superplasticizer

Product Description
DEHSCOFIX series are a high range water-reducing admixture or superplasticizer, based on Napthalene Sulphonate Formaldehyde Condensate (NSF). They are very compatible with air-entraining agents, water proofing agents, and many other admixtures; however, each material should be added to the concrete separately and must not be mixed together prior to addition. They are suitable for use with all types of ordinary Portland cements and pozzolanic cements such as PFA, GGBS, silica fume and metakaolin.

Use and Application Ready-mixed and Pre-cast concrete where a low water/cement ratio or high workability is required. Concrete where normal, midrange, or high-range, water reduction is desired. Concrete where normal setting times are required. Concrete mixes with low permeability for durable structures.

Advantages
DEHSCOFIX is the latest state of NSF technology to improve the properties of fresh and hardened concrete. Reduces the water demand of a concrete mix without reducing workability, allowing greatly increased early and ultimate strengths without additional cement. Improves the workability of concrete without increasing water demand. Produces economic benefits to the concrete mix design through reducing amount of cement and water without sacrificing workability and strength of concrete. Reduces concrete permeability and thereby reduce water penetration and enhance durability. Increases productivity, resulting in reduced labour costs.

Typical Dosage
The application dosage is usually between 0.15 and 2% by weight of cement, and depends whether improved workability or water reduction is targeted. The optimum dosage of DEHSCOFIX to meet specific requirements should always be determined by trials using the materials and conditions that will be experienced in use. This allows the optimization of NSF dosage and mix design and provides a complete assessment of the concrete mix. Starting points for such trials, based on the primary use of the product, are to use a dosage within the normal typical ranges.

Performance Characteristics
Many variables in concreting materials and conditions can affect the selection and use of a superplasticizer. The example quoted is representative of results obtained and is provided as illustrations of performance in different situations. Because of the variability of concreting materials, the results should only be taken as typical of the performance to be expected. Results quoted in individual examples should not be taken as necessarily directly comparable with other examples given here or results obtained elsewhere for DEHSCOFIX or other products. Unless otherwise specified, all testing was carried out to the relevant parts of applicable European Standards.
