ABSTRACT
Internship program is an academic requirement for students of Master of Business Administration degree offered by Department of Management Sciences Islamia College Peshawar. The primary purpose of this internship program is to get the practical knowledge about business sector and corporate world. The main purpose of this report is to analyze the performance of MCB and to give recommendations. MCB is providing technology-based products and services through its large network of branches. This report also discusses that how MCB meets the standards of current market requirements through its diversified product line and investment decisions. For the past so many years not only the banking sector but also other organizations have been reshaped and redefined by the invigoration of complete technology and new innovative ideas. MCB has various departments in general banking, cash management, deposit management, establishment sector, clearing section, customer service, advances and credit management. The report covers all the areas of the bank that clearly show that how the bank is being excelling in many areas. Report also covers the analysis portion with the help of which we come to know that where it is strong and where it needs to be strong. MCB maintains its position as Pakistans premier bank, determined to set higher standards of achievements

Department of Management Sciences Islamia College University Peshawar is one of the leading institutes of the Pakistan. This institute is rendering invaluable services to the Pakistani nation by producing outstanding graduates who have aims to change the world. Internee himself feel proud as being a part of that superb institute and feel proud of his teachers because of their excellent teaching style and vast knowledge, as well as their scholastic approach. Preparing students to face the world confidently and courageously, Department of management sciences arranges an internship program during semester break in final semester. The purpose of this program is to give practical exposure about our studies. It is also helpful for understanding the organizational environment that how to deal with professional persons. For that purpose, he joined MCB Bank, which is one of the largest Banking Company in Pakistan. First of all he is thankful to Almighty Allah who gave his knowledge and power to make his able to complete his internship successfully. He is also thankful to Department of Management Sciences who provided me this opportunity to have an experience in a reputed organization and groom him for the future professional responsibilities. PREFACE
Being a student of Business Administration Internee mostly emphasized on functions of management, but due to shortage of time only touching become possible. Internee mostly avoided law and rules and put light on practice. The process of motivation and communication also slightly discussed, but these are only observed. This report is consisting of few chapters, like management organization, departments of MCB, functions like deposits, remittances, improvement in services after privatization and other general banking items. Advances are also discussed; since advances are wide spread technical subject, bet documentation is undertaken. The importance of foreign exchange can never be avoided he discussed a few aspects of foreign currency deposits. MCB is financial commercial institution. It works for betterment of public economy. Internee discussed its contribution toward countrys development and growth. Report writing is the last step of Internship Program. It is very important, because without writing report the whole training process will end in smoke. Computation and purification of data become fruitful when it comes in the shape of information. It is very hard to convert data into information, it requires wide span of time, but in this short time, Internee collected the rough data and shaped this report. Since banking is a wide spread profession, it is impossible to jot out each and every function, so he highlighted few functions of banking.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
MCB bank limited was incorporated in Pakistan and is engaged in commercial banking and related services. It is serving the nation as one of the leading Banks in Pakistan. The bank is listed on all the stock exchanges in Pakistan. MCB bank provided quality financial services in the country with profitability and responsibility and to be the best place to work. With a network of around 1026 branches and a team of dedicated professionals, MCB is Pakistan largest private sectors commercial bank. Internee was honored to work in MCB Cantt Branch Peshawar, where he found the staff very cooperative. He did his internship in all the departments of the branch. He worked in the Account Opening Section in two week, under the supervision of Operation Manager Mr. Sajid Hussain where He learned the methodology of opening of accounts, which is said to be as a contractual relationship between bank and customer, and about precautionary measures that are relevant to opening of an account. Moreover he got the idea that how these accounts are maintained. What should be pre-requisites of opening of account? For the next two weeks he worked in the remittances department where he got the opportunity to get familiar with different kinds of remittances, the bank deal in which are the Demand draft, Telegraph Transfer, Mail Transfer, Issuance of Rupees Travelers cheques, Posting of vouchers, Foreign Demand Draft. The Remaining part of his internship he spent with Mr.Asim in the Advances/Credit department, where he learned how the credit proposal is being made, how the loans are being approved and recovered. His focus was on credit department thats why he spent more time in credit department. After completing his internship in MCB, he comes to know that MCB is one of the leading banks in Pakistan and providing its customers quality services and products with surety and security. He also realized that education provided us in institute is very similar to the practical field. He would also like to conclude that this Eight-week internship has given him a great exposure. During his internship he enjoyed practically fieldwork and found it very challenging and interesting. However he realized that banking field is also boring up to some extent, so bank should develop such type of organizational culture in which employee feels comfortable, bank should rotate the employees job positions in order to remain them far from boring job at one seat for the long time. There should be also some extra development courses for the employees of the bank so that they could be able to increase their abilities according to market demand.
