Established on July 25, 1956 Authority to issue revenue bonds for the construction of government buildings and infrastructure Act as a developer with the ability to finance, design & construct government facilities 11 seat commission, chaired by the Mayor of the City of Chicago

Programs Include:
Bid incentives for the employment of apprentices Bid incentives for the employment of minority and female workers Contract provisions that require at least 50% of the labor force be residents of the City of Chicago. Contract provisions with regard for community hiring, helping to employ those closest to the work at hand Contract provisions that require minority- and women-owned business participation Contract provisions that require Chicago General Contractors awarded PBC projects to subcontract at least 25% of the contract worth to Chicago subcontractors. General Contractors not located in Chicago must award at least 35% of the work to local subcontractors

10 Fire houses totaling $136 million 10 Police stations totaling $307 million

Announced June15, 2006 MSAC comprises 27 projects city wide, including 3 renovations and 24 new buildings valued in excess of 1 billion dollars; utilizing a combination of T.I.F. financing and CPS bonds First project Miles Davis Elementary School was completed in 2008 5 schools opened in 2009 5 schools and 1 renovation opened in 2010

Developments and enhancements of the network security cameras and tie in cameras to the Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC) OVS system, supporting 911 Citys OVS network includes approximately $40 million of network infrastructure and public right-of-way surveillance coverage deployed since 2007 Additional clients include: CHA and CPS
For the CHA, surveillance systems at 4 properties and the PBC is in the process of deploying 2,800 additional surveillance cameras at 55 additional properties For CPS, the PBC has deployed surveillance cameras in the public right of way at 20 area high schools and is in the process of deploying units at 20 additional high schools in the third quarter of 2010.

Program includes the construction of new library branches as well as addition and renovation projects Up to 21 new or renovated facilities are envisioned, with total development costs estimated at more than $200 million Utilizes TIF funding where available

Library Stats
CPL is operating 76 library locations :
1 central library; 2 regional libraries; an extension of our Popular Library at Water Works; and 72 branch libraries.

All are located within mile of a CTA bus or train Some are within mile of a Metra train stop Harold Washington Library Center, Lincoln Park and Sulzer are accessible by both CTA train and bus HWLC is at the intersection of multiple el and subway lines and bus routes. In many cases, the bus stop is right at our front door Roosevelt, Beverly, Logan Square, Lincoln Park, Near North, Avalon, Woodson, Sulzer
