I. COURSE DESCRIPTION: Study the Nature of information as an organizational resource; its significance in decision making and management; components of information systems; managerial implications and modern trends associated with the use and management of information systems in organizations. II. COURSE OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of the course, the students will be able to: Acquire the managerial point of view regarding information technology and information systems Assess the components of information systems Discuss the basic concepts and major applications of computer based information systems. Explain Data base processing and organizational data management efforts Analyze the impacts of using information systems in organizations Explain the procedures for successfully managing information systems Explain the context and process of formulating a strategic plan for the information resources and how it must mesh with the strategic plan for the firm
