SUMMER MATH PACKET FOR STUDENTS HAVING COMPLETED 7th GRADE MATH

This packet consists of ten sets of exercises and problems that use skills practiced in 7th grade math. Suggested pacing is to complete one set per week for ten weeks or two sets per week for five weeks. An answer key is included at the end. Please use it to check your answers. Please refer to your notebooks if you need to refresh your memory about any of the topics. Another good reference, which some of you have at home, is the handbook, Math on Call: A Mathematics Handbook, published by Great Source Education Group. If you would like a copy, you can buy one on Amazon.com. This is a handy book to have even for high school. And for students who want some different math problems, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics web site, www.figurethis.org, has interesting mathematical challenges of all sorts for middle school students and their families. Enjoy! Mrs.Olt 7th Grade Math Teacher

P.S. You will need some extra paper on which to write your work. For some problems, you will need graph paper. Remember to reduce fractions. If the problem has a picture like this , you may use a calculator.

Do not use a calculator for any other problems.
