MAH CET question paper breakup in detail and some tips to crack.

The paper consists of 200 questions and mainly divided into three sections

1) Verbal Ability / Reasoning consists of 50 questions

a) English Comprehension : 15 questions TIPS: Never leave the antonyms and synonyms questions of passages Never go through the entire passage word to word . Just catch the keyword in Question and scan through passage for the keyword and then read the sentence carefully.

b) English Usage: 10 Questions, mostly on finding/spotting the errors in sentence Tips: Pretty simple just check your grammatical skills and improve..... Solve as many questions as you can.

c) English Proficiency: 25 Questions a) 15 questions : May be questions on verbal analogies or Idioms and phrases questions . Tips : Solve as many as questions as you can .

b) 10 questions : Pretty simple " FILL IN THE BLANKS" TIPS: Solve the verbal ability quiz given on the site .

2) Quantitative Questions consists of 45 questions: a) Arithmetic : 16 Questions Nearly 10 questions from number systems based on BODMAS 4 Questions are from Time, distance and work

Tips: You need to be very fast in calculation and use approximation method wherever possible. Use quicker maths techniques to be quickly solve the calculations, you need to practice it very well.

b) Commercial Maths : Nearly 1 question on compound interest c) Algebra : Nearly 1 question on permutation and combination. Tips : Dont get confused between whether its probability question or permutation/combination question .

d) Probability : Nearly 1 question e) Data sufficiency : Nearly 5 questions , mostly carries the equations to solve.

TIPS : Practice this questions very well, you can do well f) Data interpretation : Nearly 20 Questions TIPS : You must make your calculation part very strong . Use approximate values where there is a big difference in numbers. Make your percentage logic strong as there are number of questions based on percentages. There are problems like percentage increase? Always use formula like (200 - 100 / 100) * 100 to calculate percentage increase. There are basically bar, line and pie charts come in exams and mostly given productions / earnings / output verses years.

3) Logical and Abstract Reasoning consists of 105 questions a) Reasoning : Nearly 60 questions , mostly divided into 1) Analogy : 5 questions 2) Seating arrangement: 5 questions 3) Odd man out in series : 5 questions 4) Coding decoding : 5 questions 5) Series test : 10 questions 6) Blood relations : 5 Questions 7) Symbols and notations : 5 questions 8) Alphabet test : 5 questions 9) Miscellaneous questions (based on degree of truths): 15 questions

TIPS : Draw diagrams wherever you feel necessary, depend on concrete information given.

b) Logical test : Nearly 15 questions 1) Syllogism : 5 questions 2) Statement and assumptions : 5 questions 3) Statement and conclusions : 5 questions . TIPS : Draw Venn diagrams where you feel.

c) Visual Reasoning: 30 Questions , mostly are diagrams given in series and needs to solve it. TIPS : Practice as many as we can from mock papers.
