First Reading: Exodus 20:1-17

1Then

God spoke all these words: 2I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery; 3you shall have no other gods before me.
4You

shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me, 6but showing steadfast love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments.
7You

shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not acquit anyone who misuses his name.
8Remember

the sabbath day, and keep it holy. 9For six days you shall labour and do all your work. 10But the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any workyou, your son or your daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock, or the alien resident in your towns. 11For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but rested the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day and consecrated it.
12Honour

your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. 13You shall not murder. 14You shall not commit adultery. 15You shall not steal. 16You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour. 17You shall not covet your neighbours house; you shall not covet your neighbours wife, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbour. Hear the word of the Lord: Thanks be to God Psalm 19 (said antiphonally) The heavens declare the glory of God: and the firmament proclaims his handiwork; 2 One day tells it to another: and night to night communicates knowledge.
1

There is no speech or language: Nor are their voices heard; 4 Yet their sound has gone out through all the world: and their words to the ends of the earth. 5 There he has pitched a tent for the sun: which comes out as a bridegroom from his chamber, and rejoices like a strong man to run his course. 6 Its rising is at one end of the heavens, and its circuit to their farthest bound: and nothing is hidden from its heat. 7 The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul: the command of the Lord is true, and makes wise the simple. 8 The precepts of the Lord are right, and rejoice the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, and gives light to the eyes. 9 The fear of the Lord is clean, and endures for ever: the judgements of the Lord are unchanging, and righteous every one. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold: sweeter also than honey, than the honey that drips from the comb. 11 Moreover, by them is your servant taught: And in keeping them there is great reward. 12 Who can know their own unwitting sins?: O cleanse me from my secret faults. 13 Keep your servant also from presumptuous sins, lest they get the mastery over me: So I shall be clean, and innocent of great offence. 14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight: O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.

Second Reading: 1 Corinthians 1:18-25 18For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart. 20Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, God decided, through the foolishness of our proclamation, to save those who believe.

22For

Jews demand signs and Greeks desire wisdom, 23but we proclaim Christ crucified, a stumbling-block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25For Gods foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and Gods weakness is stronger than human strength. Hear the word of the Lord: Thanks be to God The Gospel: John 2:13-22 The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to John chapter two, beginning at the thirteenth verse. Glory to you Lord Jesus Christ 13The Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14In the temple he found people selling cattle, sheep, and doves, and the money-changers seated at their tables. 15Making a whip of cords, he drove all of them out of the temple, both the sheep and the cattle. He also poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. 16He told those who were selling the doves, Take these things out of here! Stop making my Fathers house a market-place! 17His disciples remembered that it was written, Zeal for your house will consume me. 18The Jews then said to him, What sign can you show us for doing this? 19Jesus answered them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. 20The Jews then said, This temple has been under construction for forty-six years, and will you raise it up in three days? 21But he was speaking of the temple of his body. 22After he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken. For the Gospel of the Lord: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. Please pray for those who are sick and in need: Seth Gunther, Adrian Walsh, Ethan Forcier, Jeannette Jolley, Gwenda Stomann, Eileen Matts, Rosemary Homewood, Diana Kelly, Fr. Dien deNiet: We write to advise you (rather belatedly) that a former Kilmore Parishioner, Mrs Dien de Niet, passed away peacefully on Sunday on the Queensland Sunshine Coast. Dien will no doubt be remembered by many of your Parishioners. She left the Parish of Kilmore in 2006 to join our Parish in Maroochydore after some 16 years at Christ Church and 52 years in the Kilmore community. Her funeral service will take place at

St Peters Church in Maroochydore at 1.00pm (Sunshine Coast time) tomorrow, Thursday, March 8. We have attached a copy of Diens service should any of your Parishioners wish to receive a copy. Dien always spoke lovingly of her time in the Parish of Kilmore and treasured the album presented to her at her farewell. The photograph on the front of the order of service was taken at her farewell and was included as a special memento of her time in Kilmore. Diens service will be a true celebration of her faith. Yours in Christ, Revds Bob & Christine Woolner. Parish of Maroochydore. Diocese of Brisbane # Please pray for Hans and Heather and the extended deNiet family. Ian and Lucy Staring thank all those who have been praying faithfully for Ian - both during his operation, and for his recovery and healing. A Flood Appeal from the Bishop of Wangaratta:
Tuesday, 6 March 2012 1:56 PM

Dear all, There is much concern about the current flooding and evacuations around the Diocese. This morning Bishop John and John Davis both drove to Katamatite and Nathalia as part of the our diocesan ministry of support in conjunction with the Victorian Council of Churches Emergency Ministries. They are planning to stay much of this week. I know that many other diocesan clergy and laity are similarly involved in work to help those who are suffering. So we as a diocese are ministering to those in need both in presence and in prayer. There is now another way we can show our compassion and share our resources with those affected by this natural disaster. That is through your financial contibutions to the "Bishop of Wangaratta Flood Appeal". In order to do this and to obtain tax deductability have partnered with the The Bush Church Aid Society. You can make your donation online through this link www.bushchurchaid.com.au - and then through the "donate" button. Specify the "Kirkby Trust" and in the notes the "Wangaratta Flood Appeal". Or you can send a cheque made out to the Bush Church Aid Society, designated for the Wangaratta Flood Appeal, to BCA level 7, 37 York Street, Sydney 3000. If tax deductibility is not an issue then you can send a cheque to the Bishop's Registry at Box 457, Wangaratta, VIC 3676. Make the cheque out to the Diocese of Wangaratta Flood Appeal. We will ensure the money donated is distributed directly to those in need as soon

as possible. In either case, please pray and give as you can to those who are suffering with the floods. Peace, Rob. Pew Reflections for the Third Sunday in Lent Sunday 11 March 2012

Is it ok to be angry? Some people think that Christians are always supposed to be happy. Jesus got angry when he saw his Fathers house turned into a den of iniquity. He saw how the Temple, which was supposed to unite people to God (Jews and Gentiles), became a place which kept people away from God; a place which profited from the pilgrims journey. And so, Jesus was filled with righteous indignation. When he cleansed the Temple, he was removing all of the obstacles which separated humanity from God. How can we be sure that we are not putting obstacles in other peoples way? Pray for all persons seeking God; that all obstacles would be removed from their paths and that they would meet God through

Jesus Christ. Give thanks for the work and witness of the Nippon Sei Ko Kai the Anglican Church in Japan
