The top ten areas that impress the parents the most (I have amalgamated some comments which

were very similar) 1. The caring Catholic Ethos and values of the school. 2. The commitment, dedication, support and approachability of Headteacher, teachers and all staff both in or outside the classroom. 3. Good communication between school and home which ensures parents are kept informed. 4. The behaviour, discipline and rules of the school. 5. The friendly, diverse and welcoming community. 6. Learning is fun and creative and there are high standards and expectations of the children. 7. Children are looked after and kept safe in a positive learning environment. 8. The way the school responds to concerns. 9. Assemblies and other well organised school events. 10. The increasing range of extra curricular activities. How we could make our school better: 1. More homework. 2. More parent workshops. 3. More information / meetings regarding childrens homework. 4. Less dangerous driving and impolite attitudes by parents outside school. 5. More school trips. 6. Increase extra curricular activities. Explanation of answers A number of parents did not feel able to comment about behaviour in class as they were not able to see for themselves what it was like. Several parents said they could not comment on how the school dealt with concerns or bullying as they had never experienced it. Several parents explained that although their children had not been bullied in school, they were not confident about how it would be dealt with it if happened. A few parents were concerned that naughty children got too much attention or too many rewards and good children were overlooked Response to some issues: Our reviewed Homework and Anti-Bullying Policies and procedures will be available for parents before the end of term We will be organising a Maths workshop for parents and also sending out a calculation help sheet A list of parent consultation dates, meetings, main events for each year is already sent out to parents in September and available on the school website We would also like to increase the number of education visits, but due to an increasing number of parents who feel unable to contribute to any costs, and the decrease in the number of parents who can help on a trip, this is proving difficult. However, your child should still experience a wide range of visits whilst they are still in school. We do already send out termly curriculum letters to inform you about what your child will be learning. Daily or even weekly written reports on each childs progress are not practical for teachers. However, when there are particular concerns about progress or behaviour, weekly written or oral reports are provided. We will change the Advent Service to 2.30pm next year. We have three parent consultation days already for parents, but will consider more open afternoons when parents can look at displays, work etc

Parents are very welcome to discuss any concerns about their childs progress at any time during the year. You do not have to wait for parent consultation days, simply phone the school for an appointment. We do already offer an extensive range of extra curricular activities, before, during and after school. In fact, we do not have the space to facilitate many more, especially as we have a breakfast and after school club. However, do look out for the activities when they are available. Since September, we have offered a range of activities such as: Spanish, Gymnastics, Dancing, Tri-Golf, Cheerleading, Basketball, Hockey, Netball, Football, Art Club, Film Club, Choir, Orchestra The childrens toilets are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected every evening. Unfortunately, some of the children do not use or leave the toilets as we would like.

We particularly appreciate so many positive comments about the school and by your support and acknowledgement that our staff are dedicated and committed to providing the best learning opportunities for your children. We acknowledge that there are and will always be areas we can improve and we will continue to strive for outstanding practice today and in the future.
