Q1: What are the barriers to efficient and effective planning in local business environment? Ans: Effective planning requires a lot of thought provoking process and lecture planning. Planning is the challenging process. An affective manager has to look beneath the surface because managing is the continuously evolving process. In order to get any optimum result managers have to and deal with any barriers that inhibit successful planning. Some are as follow:

i- Inadequate knowledge:
Managers are not born with ability to know everything. Some managers are not successful planners because they lack the basic and background knowledge of the business.

ii- Poor communication :

Planning process is complicated when communication within or between groups lacks. Insufficient communication will reduce efficiently and managers would definitely make wrong choice.

iii- Insufficient resources:

If plans become over optimistic, managers will make short sighted choices and planning will not do good business.

iv- Lack of creativity:

If a managers runs out of creative ideas and efficient plans to boost a certain process, the planning not remain effective and efficiency cannot be achieved.

Q2: Relate planning function to other important function in management with the help of an example each. ANS: Planning is a very vital component planning is related to all other important functions controlling leading and organizing.

i- Controlling and planning:

Planning is related to controlling in a way that if one is having control over his thought and mechanism, then he would have to effectively plane for the goals. In order to control effectively, one has to plane carefully and wisely. So these functions are related closely.

ii- for instance:

Apple Inc.is a US based company headed by late Steve Jobs. He was a lower manager and he controlled Apple in an effective way. His ideas were original and as CEO,he was successful because he dealt with issues wisely and made perfect strategies to control Apple globally.

ii- leading and planning:

Leading and planning are closely related too. Because only a good leader can decide what path his organization should choose I order to gain success. A good leader has a natural talent of effective planning.

Example:
Bill gates, the CEO of Microsoft are a perfect example. He had the leadership qualities and vision to make Microsoft flourish.

iii- organizing and planning:

Organizing is a such factor of planning. Planning revolves around organization and making right choices. An efficient planner knows how to organize thoughts and plans to carry his business forward.
