OI YOU! Totul a inceput dintr-o joaca, o joaca de copil mare. Dupa o perioada de mIRC, forumuri, calatorii cu personalul interminabile, concerte in diverse orase, fete cu converse si rucsac cu punk scris cu marker-ul, baieti cu tricouri negre si tatuaje, bere la cetate, bere la digul cu slipknot, baschet la un panou stramb, 1 de mai la Costinesti si Vama Veche, revelioane in aprtamente mici si galagioase, oameni buni si minunati, prieteni adevarati si trupe ce inca ne mai incanta si ne fac sa zambim. Am intalnit oameni care mi-au zambit din prima clipa, oameni care si azi imi spun ca sunt cu nasul pe sus, oameni care ma sunau la miezul noptii sa-mi spuna problemele, oameni care au trecut de la zambetele simple la ironi si vorbe aruncate aiurea. Oameni ce au trecut de la Ramones la Vijelie si la Tiesto, oameni care si-au sters cuvantul punk de pe rucsac, oameni care acum merg cu intercity-ul (cu bilet), oameni care te suna doar cand au nevoie de tine si foarte multe tipuri care te fac sa zambesti sau te intristeaza. Vise ce nu mai au aripi, falsitate si mandrie, lipsa de modestie si lauri primiti pentru nimic. Noi ramanem aici si zambim, ascultam muzica ce ne place (inca) si ne jucam in continuare. Ne auzim in curand prieteni.

I DONT WANT TO GROW UP

E din ce in ce mai greu sa ma joc cum vreau eu, tot mai multe persoane mari pe langa mine care ma sperie...pana una alta ne vedem pe la concerte, pe strada, la cafea, la mare, la soare, la munte...simplu si frumos. Multumesc Constangeles! pentru ca inca imi este dor de tine, si trupelor si prietenilor si oamenilor buni si frumosi si sinceri si care ma fac sa zambesc. Ma inclin!

TNS simply couldnt exist without the help of everyone who buys our releases, supports us and obviously all the bands involved. This compilation is a collective release between ourselves and all the bands who feature and it could not have happened without their help. All of these bands work very hard for very little (or no) financial gain, because they love the music they play and the amazing community our music scene provides, which stretches worldwide. If you can help them out by picking up their other albums and EPs or by watching them live (or even by putting them on in your town or city... seriously if we can do it, anyone can) we know it means everything to them. The underground scene is thriving at the moment despite the fact that we are facing such difficult times politically and socially, so lets keep it that way. Support your local bands, promoters, fanzines and radio shows and they will continue to go from strength to strength and exist outside of the commercial world. This album is just a snapshot of the bands we listen to and have worked with. There are so many more amazing bands everywhere who also deserve your support, some of which have been on previous compilations/releases and many whom we are yet to even hear.

Mel Tepid, godfather of Minnesota ska, began playing ska in 1995. As he found his rock band at the time running out of steam, one night he dreamt that one of the guitarists left the band. In the dream, he suggested to the two remaining bandmates that they form a ska band. Strangely enough,within a week, one of the guitarists did indeed quit the band and Mel formed Umbrella Bed with his two remaining bandmates. Mel soon built his ska credentials opening for such noteworthy acts as The Specials, The Selecter, The Beat and even the legendary Skatalites at the equally legendary Minneapolis venue, First Avenue. Over time songs written by Mel were included in dozens of videos, movies and CDs eventually influencing the next generation of Midwest ska musicians. Mel has played around the U.S., U.K., and mainland Europe having spent hundreds of nights playing to sweaty, crazed, dancing fans. Mels newest project, Mel Tepid and the Soul Ska Farmers, combines the foundation of two tone ska, with a smooth melodic layer of 1960s & 1970s soul, and an extra kick of early punk with his debut CD, Stead Fast, released on Mad Butcher records.

NEW YORK CITY HC MURPHYS LAW

Murphys Law s-au format undeva in 1982
in New York si sunt una din trupele pioniere ale hc/ punk-ului din US. In toti acesti ani trupa a lansat doar 5 materiale in schimb membrii trupei de-a lungul timpului s-au perindat pe la trupe ca: Dog eat Dog, Agnostic Front, Danzig, Bouncing Souls sau Hanoi Rocks. Primul demo al trupei apare in 1983, Bong Blast la Spliff Records urmat de primul album Murphys Law in 1986 la Profile Records. Trupa incepe sa devina cunoscuta in undergroundul New Yorkez si incep de asemenea un turneu in US. Back With A Bong urmeaza in 1989 si in 1991 cel de-al treilea album The Best Of Times. Un mix de punk, hc, ska probabil cel mai reusit album al trupei, fiind produs de nimeni altul decat John Fisher de la Fishbone. EP-ul Good For Now este lansat in 1993 si aduce o maturizare in stilul trupei fiind produs de Daniel Rey ( celebru datorita colaborarii cu nume ca: Ramones, Misfits, Gang Green ). Dedicated a urmat in 1996 fiind produs de acelasi Daniel Rey la Another Planet Records, acesta fiind ultimul album al trupei pana in 2001 cand lanseaza The Partys Over. Albumul s-a bucurat de un mare succes fiind dedicat primarului din NY: Rudolph Giuliani, de asemenea o alta piesa intens promovata si de succes a fost Wlaking Alone si bineinteles un cover dupa celebrii Symarip, Skinhead Girl. Dupa numeroase schimbari de case de discuri, colaborari si compilatii, trupa semneaza cu I Scream Records care le propune si o re editare a albumelor precedente, pe vinil si digital.

In 2002 trupa apare alaturi de Agnostic Front in filmul lui Matthew Barney, Creamaster 3. Fosti membri ai trupei au mai cantat de-a lungul timpului in cele mai cunoscute trupe de hc/punk ca: Warzone, Subzero, Agnostic Front, Skarhead, Madcap, Cro Mags, Merauder, Anti Heroes. Trupa a mai lansat doua materiale intre 2002 si 2005 la NYHC Tattoos Records si au aparut si pe cateva compilatii cunoscute cum ar fi: Warped Tour, Tribute To The Real Oi volume 2, Jager Music volume 2 sau Tribute to The Clash.

Legendari Madness au anuntat o serie de concerte pentru martie si aprilie in SUA. Printre cele mai cunoscute festivaluri la care vor participa se numara: Coachella Valley Music si Arts Festival, ambele in aprilie. Dropkick Murphys au lansat editia deluxe pentru cel mai recent material: Going Out in Style sub numele de Fenway Park Bonus Edition. Prima piesa ce a fost promovata a fost Tessie live at Fenway. The Aggrolites una din trupele icon ale celor de la HellCat Records au anuntat despratirea de label. Ultimul material lansat de trupa a fost Rugged Road in 2011, in prezent Aggrolites sunt in turneu alaturi de Mike Pinto Band si pregatesc un nou material. Tim Armstrong (Rancid) a inregistrat recent o serie de piese acustice pentru Guitar Center din Hollywood. Doua piese de la Rancid ( Its Quite Alright, East Bay Night ) si un cover dupa Johnny Cash ( Big River ). Canadieni de la Real McKenzies pregatesc lansarea noul material ce va fi lansat pe piata in aprilie sub numele de Westwinds. Prima piesa promovata de pe album poarta numele de The Message. Epitaph Records arunca pe piata noul album al celor de la Pennywise pe data de 1 mai 2012. Noul material al trupei poarta numele de All Or Nothing. Albumul se gaseste in pre-order la cei de la Epitaph. Veteranii din South Bay LA promit un album la fel de bun ca si celebrul Full Circle din 1997. WE ALL SING ALONE

The Bouncing Souls sunt mandria orasului New Jersey. S-au format in 1987 si raman un icon in scena punk chiar si dupa 25 de ani de la infintare. Numele trupei vine dintr-o reclama a celebrilor Doc Martens care spune with Bouncing Soles. Primul material al trupei vine in 1994 la Chunksaah Records (propriul lor label), The Good, The Bad and The Argyle in fapt acest prim album este de fapt o compilatie a celor mai bune piese din EPurile anterioare. Maniacal Laughter vine in 1996 si ii aduce in atentia celor de la Epitaph Records, tot cu acest album trupa pleaca intr-un turneu alaturi de Youth Brigade. Primul album la Epitaph poarta numele de The Bouncing Souls si cuprinde unele din cele mai apreciate piese ale trupei ca: East Coast Fuck You, Kate Is Great sau Cracked. Hopeless Romantic urmeaza in 1999 si odata cu acest album tobosarul Shal Khichi a fost inlocuit cu Michael McDermott (fondator la Murphys Law). How I Spent My Summer Vacation a venit in 2001 sub noul line up. Trupa a mai participat alaturi de Anti Flag pe celebra serie de la BYO de spli cd-uri cu materialul: The Bad, The Worse and The Out Of Print. Cel de-al 6-lea album Anchors Aweight vine in 2003 si reprezinta unul din cele mai mature ale trupei si un sound destul de catchy dupa spusele unor critici. Pe 6 iunie 2006 adica pe 6/6/06 o coincidenta dupa cum recunosc cei din trupa, lanseaza The Gold Record pe care il promoveaza in cadrul Warped Tour. Trupa a mai lansat Ghosts On The Boardwalk in 2010 si a participat pe o serie numeroasa de compilatii. Noul material Comet a fost lansat anul acesta si o prima piesa Static poate fi ascultata pe siteul lor ca preview.
