Conference Theme:
The International Conference on Chemistry for Mankind: Innovative Ideas in Life Sciences is organized by Department of Chemistry, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur, in association with Institute of Science, Nagpur and St.Francis de Sales College, Nagpur under the auspices of Indian Society of Chemists and Biologists (ISCB) on 9th and 10th February 2011. The conference will provide a forum for the national and international scientific community to discuss, debate and network for furthering the latest innovations and advances in Chemistry and celebrate their applications for the betterment of mankind. The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and American Chemical Society (ACS) are actively collaborating with this conference.

Medicinal Chemistry, Drug Discovery and Development Environmentally Benign and Green Chemistry Bionanotechnology and Biotechnology Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Genetics Organic and Inorganic polymers Nanomaterials and Nanocomposites

N A G P U R
Situated in the heart of the country and popularly known as the Orange City, Nagpur, is well connected to the four corners of India by air, rail and road. It has become an educational hub. Several National Institutions are located in the city. Excellent Town planning, good roads and ample free space have created an ambience for scientists and research workers to enjoy life and cultivate productive commendable research. Good facilities exist within the city, while other infrastructure is a source of pride and joy for the community.

ICCM-2011

Indian Society of Chemists and Biologists (ISCB) : It was founded in 1995, with headquarters at Lucknow, with the following aims and objectives :
To promote and advance the cause of multidisciplinary research by providing a common platform for better cooperation and coordination. To develop national consensus among the younger generation to strive for interdisciplinary cooperation. To promote awareness of recent developments in frontal areas of science. To organize symposia, conferences and special lectures in different disciplines of science.

Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur


The University was established on 4th August 1923 with six affiliated colleges and 927 students. Nagpur University was renamed as Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University in 2005. There are currently more than seven hundred affiliated colleges, of which more than 60% are Government aided, with thirty six Post-Graduate Teaching Departments (PGTD), three constituent Colleges/ Institutions (Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Law, Laxminarayan Institute of Technology and College of Education). The University is accreditated by National Accreditation and Assessment Council. It has established a Discovery Park to exchange ideas about research activities in various fields. A Biodiversity park is in advanced planning stage. The University figures amongst the top 50 Universities in India.

Department of Chemistry, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur


With almost five decades of dedicated service to the Nation, the Department of Chemistry of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur has been rendering yeomen services by turning out skilled scientists who have excelled in every aspect. The Department has been very active in engaging National Seminars on topics of relevance to the Nation and has held several workshops, summer schools and has so far completed number of research projects mainly through the UGC, BRNS, DAE, DST etc. It has produced a large number of doctorates. Several of its staff have had the opportunity of visiting abroad to propagate Indian talent and bring in new ideas that could motivate future research in this country.

Department of Chemistry, Institute of Science, Nagpur


The Institute of Science is a premier State Government Institute in Central India. It has recently been declared as A Center for Potential of Excellence by University Grants Commission. Established in 1929, it has been making steady progress with enviable achievements and has been recognized as one of the best Science Institutes catering to the students of Vidarbha and Central India. Institute of Science is one of the largest institutions in Maharashtra imparting diverse and vigorous programs in chemistry par excellence in both teaching and research. The Institute has completed 80 fruitful years of its glorious existence. The growth of the Institute and its achievements in the generation and dissemination of science amongst the student community is inspired by the motto of the institute Per Ardua Ad Astra by steep and toilsome ways, reaching towards the stars.

St. Francis de Sales College, Nagpur


St. Francis de Sales College was established in 1956 with a vision of providing holistic education which excels in its concern for quality and human values. The college conducts programmes in Arts, Science and Commerce streams. Master's programmes are available in Chemistry and Biotechnology. Students from different parts of India and International students on Rotary Exchange Programmes with hostels for men and women make S.F.S. College a desired destination for education. The College has been accredited with 'A' grade by NAAC .

Programme
A galaxy of internationally renowned Scientists from academia, government and industries has been invited to participate. An exciting program of keynote address, invited lectures, oral and poster presentations have been planned.
