IMAGE MOSAICING
Ahlam Ansari
Mosaicing is blending together of several arbitrarily shaped images to form one large balanced image so that the boundaries between the original images are not seen.
Ahlam Ansari 4
Mosaicing is one of the techniques of Image processing which is useful for tiling digital images.

Application
1. The most common mosaicing applications include constructing high resolution images that cover an unlimited field of view using inexpensive equipment, creating immersive environments for effective information exchange through the internet.

2. Creation of completely navigational ``virtualized'' environments by creating arbitrary views from a limited number of nodes, i.e. the reconstruction of 3D scene structure from multiple nodes.

Translation
Corner detection algorithm highlights points of interest Triangle formation algorithm forms triangles out of the points Compare triangles for congruency and alignment, if matched, then difference in position is translation

Rotation
Uses corner detection and triangle formation to check congruency of images Compare triangles for congruency and alignment. If matched, then difference between its angular position is rotation One image is rotated w.r.t the other and angle of rotation is displayed
Ahlam Ansari 23
Scaling
Corner detection and triangle formation used similar to Translation to check similarity of images Ratio of triangles are calculated to find scaling ratio for images One image is resized w.r.t. second using scaling ratio

Mosaicing
Checks for similar points in both images for blending Blends the image to form a virtual complete image
