Profile of the Organization:

Grameenphone widely known as GP, is the leading telecommunications service provider in Bangladesh. It became the first operator to reach the million subscriber milestone as well as ten million subscriber milestones in Bangladesh. With more than 27 million subscribers (as of October 2010), Grameenphone is the largest cellular operator in the country. It has received a license for cellular phone operation in Bangladesh from the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications on November 28, 1996. And it get started their operations on March 26, 1997, celebration of The Independence Day in Bangladesh. The shareholders of Grameenphone contribute their unique, in-depth experience in both telecommunications and development. It is a joint venture enterprise between Telenor (55.8%), the largest telecommunications service provider in Norway with mobile phone operations in 12 other countries, and Grameen Telecom Corporation (34.2% ), a non-profit sister concern of the internationally acclaimed micro-credit pioneer Grameen Bank. The other 10% shares belong to general retail and institutional investors. The technological know-how and managerial expertise of Telenor has been instrumental in setting up such an international standard mobile phone operation in Bangladesh. Being one of the pioneers in developing the GSM service in Europe, Telenor has also helped to transfer this knowledge to the local employees over the years The international shareholder brings technological and business management expertise while the local shareholder provides a presence throughout Bangladesh and a deep understanding of its economy. Both are dedicated to Bangladesh and its struggle for economic progress and have a deep commitment to Grameenphone and its mission to provide affordable telephony to the entire population of Bangladesh. Grameenphone was the first company to introduce GSM technology in Bangladesh. It also established the first 24-hour Call Center to support its subscribers. With the slogan Stay Close, stated goal of Grameenphone is to provide affordable telephony to the entire population of

Bangladesh. A connection exists between every person regardless of the distance that separates. And each person is designed to seek out those connections, to stay in touch. Grameenphone serves as that correlating string that connects thousands of people across the country, across the world. It makes the daunting physicality of distance and time trivial. And thus it brings people together, holding their dreams and hopes, joys and sorrows, helping them stay close.

Rationale of the Study:


7Ps are the most important thing in service marketing. The elements of 7Ps are product , price, place , promotion , process , physical environment, people. Collectively these elements represent the ingredients required to create viable strategies for meeting the customer needs profitably in a competitive market place. As a internee I do my internship at grameen phone. It is a service organization. The purpose of doing work in the office I get chance to observe from very closely how they are implementing the 7Ps in their organization. Previously I get knowledge from my text book which elements are most important in service marketing sector. But internship is practical learning process .From the internship I learn how the company is implementing the 7Ps in their organization. I can identify the difference between the theory and practical. The organization will also get the clear picture and proper idea about it. How they apply this theory and which tool they must need to include or improve they will get idea about this. After this internship, I will be definitely benefited in my future career. This is an opportunity where I can synchronize my theoretical background with practical experiences. Corporate culture is a place where I can learn how the official work actually runs, associate with work environment, dealings with other coworkers, the coordination of work, set the benchmark and go through a relative succession plan to achieve that objective.

Statement of the Problem:


There are many service organizations in our country who are not exactly implementing the 7Ps in the organization. The problem statement of this research is Service marketing strategies of grameen phone Ltd: A comprehensive study on the implementation of 7Ps.

Scope and Delimitation of the Study:


The project part of this report mainly focus on the implementation of 7Ps in service organization. This report covers the present status of grameen phone , their value added service, their promotional activities , their distribution , physical environment , people and other issues. In the 1st world service marketing are gradually grapping the market. In every sales of product company are giving after sales service. So it is very important to know the practical implementation of 7Ps . This study covers only the grameen phone head quarter area.

Limitations are :
One of the major limitations faced while conducting the study was to communicate with the selected respondents because they were very busy with their regular jobs.

As, I had more dependence on the primary sources, so there might be some level of inaccuracy
with those collected information. Confidential information regarding past marketing and sales information was not accurately obtained. Alike all other business holders also very conservative and strict in providing those information. Still I had tried my best in obtaining that sensitive information, as much as possible. Many of the analysis on the obtained data are based upon my sole interpretation. This in result might bring some biases, as lack of knowledge and depth of understanding might hinder me to produce an absolute authentic and meaningful report. Time constraint was another limitation restricting this report from being more detailed or analytical. The relationship managers at the operation or strategic level of the concerned department are terrible busy with meeting their targets. So, it was very difficult for me to get them free and obtain some practical ideas regarding their expectation and opportunities regarding my topic. 3

Objective of the Report:


This report has some broad and specific objectives to achieve and these objectives area followsBroad Objectives:To analysis the service marketing strategy and how do they implement the 7Ps into their service operation. Specific Objectives: Product offered by grameen phone. Call charge analysis. How do they provide network facilities? How does the company carry out their integrated marketing strategies. People who work for them. To know the process . Physical environment. To analyze the market risk involved and to verify the competitors action.

Methodology of the Report: Primary sources:


The information for this report is a combination of primary and secondary sources. In my study I will mainly depend on primary data that will be collected through group discussion and direct query with my supervisor, other employee and interns. I will always look for the information from any sources I want to have for my report . I will be able to gather more knowledge from one to one discussion with employees and observe their work or from my practical experience will help me.

Secondary sources:
I will use the hard copy and internet sources . The website of Grameenphone is containing the basic and latest information which will help me to have an idea about background of the company. Moreover the intranet site of Grameenphone provides information of each department and its responsibilities. I had some assignment and report work on Grameenphone from my previous semester. I think those report will help me a lot to complete my report as well. To perform in the office and to work on the internship report, these help will be provided from my university supervisor and our head of the department. They will give me the specific guideline to create an effective report on my whole internship semester.

Collecting Info. to select the Topic 8 to 11 week of march
