An introduction to Licensing CFdesign uses a license management system called LMX. This system provides two fundamental ways to license CFdesign:
Nodelock
The license is placed in the CFdesign installation folder. Only the licensed computer can run CFdesign.
Network
The license is kept on one computer (the license server). Computers on the network access the license, and can run CFdesign. When a computer is finished with CFdesign, it releases the license, and another computer can then use it.
There are several methods of requesting the CFdesign license, and the chosen method affects the installation procedure. The recommended method depends on your installation environment and situation. The installation procedures for these methods are presented:
Note: Licenses for CFdesign 2010 will not work for CFdesign 2011. A CFdesign 2011 license is required to use CFdesign 2011.
Note: A separate installer is available on the installation CD and from the Customer Portal that contains just the license manager. 2. 3. 4. 5. The license file will be e-mailed to you. Run the installer as an administrator. Follow the steps to accept the license agreement, set the destination folder, and modify the list of selected CAD launchers. On the Configuration Wizard, select Browse for a license file. If the license is a nodelocked license, it is automatically copied into the CFdesign folder. If the license is a network license, the license manager is automatically configured. After all settings are installed, click Finish.
