Research can be defined as an investigation, a careful study or inquiry, and this is often done for scholastic and scientific

purposes. Research is done on a systematic basis with the aim of collecting data so that you can come up with conclusions, facts or principles. It is the process of reading, analyzing, evaluating and summarizing scholarly materials about a specific topic. It is careful or diligent search. Experimentation aimed at the discovery and interpretation of facts, revision of accepted theories or law in the light of new detail. It is orderly procedure by which man increase his knowledge when someone tries to find out information in a systematic approach to obtaining and confirming new reliable data. It is also about searching systematically for solutions to management problems. It includes thorough and proper preparation in regard to the perceptions and finding the unknown and putting more light into what has been know. Activities which meet this definition constitute research for purposes of this policy, whether or not they are conducted or supported under a program which is considered research for other purposes. a careful study to discover correct information or a way of collecting information to facilitate problem solving. In most simple words, it is search and search again or Close, careful study. Research does not give an absolute answer to any problem but only assist in making a good decision. Research is one of the four factors for making appropriate and sustainable decisions leading to welfare of the business and eventually its owners. Research information is used to plan, create, and execute more effective advertising and marketing campaigns. Not many appreciate the ultimate power and potential usefulness of basic knowledge accumulated by obscure, unseen investigators who, in a lifetime of intensive study, may never see any practical use for their findings but who go on seeking answers to the unknown without thought of financial or practical gain. Research can typically fall into two distinct types: Primary research, which is looking for new data and secondary research which involves collating data that already exists and for create new knowledge that is generally applicable. It must, as far as possible, be controlled, rigorous, systematic, valid and verifiable, empirical and critical. This concept implies that whatever you conclude on the basis of your findings is correct and can be verified by you and others. It must meet certain requirements. It involves developing and testing theories and hypotheses that are intellectually challenging to the researcher but May or may not have practical application at the present time or in the future. Research is an often-misused term, its usage in

everyday language very different from the strict scientific meaning. It deals with the ways and strategies used by researchers to understand the world around us. It help us to understand our reality more clearly
