Other degree holders such as engineering and accounting with CGPA of at least 3.00 can be considered . Candidates with CGPA less than the minimum requirement, but have at least 3 years working experience in the related field can also be considered.

INTRODUCTION
The Master of Applied Statistics is a 36 credit postgraduate programme by coursework. This programme prepare students with advanced knowledge and professional expertise through coursework & application and also to expose them to the latest developments in the field of Applied Statistics. The objective of this programme is to produce graduates who are knowledgeable and skillful in statistics and also to offer an opportunity for advanced studies and career development in the field of statistics. This programme offers a curriculum that provides a balanced approach to the training and education of statistics professionals. The offered courses not only cover the statistical applications to a wide variety of fields, but also include the statistical theory that will equip students with advanced knowledge in statistics. Graduates from this field can have career opportunities in planning, management, research, academia and related industries. A student pursuing a Master of Applied Statistics may complete the programme with a minimum period of one year and a maximum period of three years.

PROGRAMME REQUIREMENT
a) Credit Requirement The total credit requirement for graduation is 36. The credits are distributed among compulsory and elective courses as follows:

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
1. Applicants should hold a Bachelors degree recognized by UPM in the field of mathematics or statistics with a minimum CGPA of 2.25.

Students may take additional courses offered within or outside the faculty as electives to support his field of studies. These courses must be approved by the Faculty Graduate Studies Committee.

TUITION FEES
Basic Fee Subject to the fees determined by the Graduate School. Course/Credit Fee RM150* per credit (RM5400*: to complete 36 credits hours.) in addition to the basic fees. This fee can be paid in two installment payments, and should be made through bank draft or money order payable to Bendahari UPM and must be submitted to the Coordinator, Master of Applied Statistics. * subject to changes.
