Satellite Backhauled, Solar Powered, 2G/3G Solution for Remote Communities

Altobridge is a leading provider of 2G/3G solutions for remote communities. With over one billion people worldwide not connected to a mobile network or an electrical grid, the solar powered Altobridge lite-site enables mobile network operators to deliver cost-eective, commercially viable remote community connectivity. Meeting the needs of up to 1200 subscribers with trac capacity of 18 Erlang per altoPod (no limit with clustering), the Altobridge lite-site has been specically designed to optimise satellite bandwidth and minimise power consumption.

Combining 2G/3G and VSAT technologies, the Altobridge litesite provides: > Lowest backhaul bandwidth utilisation: 50 kbps for 2 TRX (4kbps per call) Lowest power consumption: 90W typical for 2 TRX (10W RF output power per TRX), enabling solar-power-only sites (100% renewable energy) or lowering the cost of diesel generation (lower genset CAPEX, lower fuel consumption) Lowest site cost: the all-in-1 compact altoPod enables a simpler, quicker to deploy and lower cost site than with traditional BTS

Altobridge lite-site architecture is transparent to the core network. Billing, rating and subscriber management are controlled by the operators existing core network at all times The network management feature, altoManager, provides bandwidth and network-wide monitoring capability plus BSS performance indicator statistics through a single user interface
