Once logged in, do the following to access the Enterprise Cloud Service: STEP 1 STEP 2 link. From the top action bar, select Service Management. Locate the Enterprise Cloud Service under the My Services section and click on the Service ID
STEP 3
On the Service Details screen, under the Enterprise Cloud Resource Pool section, click the button to access the Cloud login screen.
NTT Communications
STEP 4
Enter the correct login credentials for the Enterprise Cloud Service. Then click the
button.
SERVICE CHANGES
Operations performed on vApps and Virtual Machines are logged under the Service Changes section.
NTT Communications
STEP 2 Allocate specific amounts of CPU, Memory, and Storage to be used within the Virtual Room. The total resources ordered for the Enterprise Cloud Service is the possible maximum resources that can be allocated. Click the button when finished.
STEP 3 The allocated resources are now associated to the Virtual Room and a link appears to add a new vApp.

VAPP
A vApp is a logical entity comprising one or more virtual machines. Before creating Virtual Machines, a Cloud vApp needs to be created first.
CREATE VAPP
Creating a vApp will create the logical entity where Virtual Machines can be created and managed. STEP 1 link. From the Virtual Private Datacenter Resource Pool screen, click the Add New vApp
STEP 2 Enter the Name, Description, and select the Template from the appropriate Template Catalog and click the button.
Name: Can be any identifying name for the single or collection of Virtual Machines. Template: For the first vApp created, the only template catalog available is the NTTA Template Catalog. This example only has one Virtual Machine, but a template may consist of multiple Virtual Machines. See the Move to Template section in this document for more details.
NTT Communications
STEP 3 In the Virtual Private Datacenter Resource Pool screen under the Virtual Room section a new vApp section will display with a processing message for creating the new vApp.
When complete, all the Virtual Machines that were part of the defined template will display in the vApp section as powered off. A unique identifier is generated for each Virtual Machine. The Virtual Machines are not deployed until the button is pressed. See the Deploy vApp section in this document on how to deploy a vApp.
STEP 4 To add additional Virtual Machines to the vApp, click the Recompose vApp icon for each Virtual Machine to be created. See the Virtual Machine section in this document for instructions on creating and configuring Virtual Machines.
Once all the Virtual Machines have been setup and configured, the vApp can be deployed.
NTT Communications
DEPLOY VAPP
Deploying a vApp will build the Virtual Machines and make them available to power on. This process can take some time depending on the number of Virtual Machines that are in the vApp. STEP 1 From the Virtual Private Datacenter Resource Pool screen, click the deploy all the Virtual Machines in the vApp. button to
STEP 2 Check the Confirm check box to confirm the deployment. Optionally, check the Power On check box to have all the Virtual Machines powered on once deployment is complete.
STEP 3 Once deployed, all the Virtual Machines within the vApp are now available to be powered on.

UNDEPLOY VAPP
Undeploying a vApp will power off any running Virtual Machines, free up the CPU and Memory resources, allowing the resources to be utilized by other Virtual Machines. The Storage resources are still required by the undeployed Virtual Machines. The undeploy process can take some time depending on the number of Virtual Machines that are in the vApp. STEP 1 From the Virtual Private Datacenter Resource Pool screen, click the to undeploy all the Virtual Machines in the vApp. button
STEP 2
Check the Confirm check box to confirm the undeploy and click the
button.
STEP 3 Once undeployed, all the Virtual Machines within the vApp will now display the Powered off state.
11
NTT Communications
EDIT VAPP
The name and description of the vApp can be modified. STEP 1 From the Virtual Private Datacenter Resource Pool screen, click the Edit vApp icon .
STEP 2 As necessary, edit the Name and/or Description fields, check the Confirm checkbox and click the button.
The changes will display on the Virtual Private Datacenter Resource Pool screen.

DELETE VAPP
A vApp can be deleted. When deleting a vApp, all the Virtual Machines associated to the vApp will also be deleted. The resources from the Virtual Machines are returned to the resource pool and are available for other vApps in the Virtual Room.
WARNING: This is an unrecoverable operation; any and all data on the Virtual Machines in the vApp will be deleted.
STEP 1 From the Virtual Private Datacenter Resource Pool screen, click the Delete vApp icon .
STEP 2
button.
The vApp is now deleted and the changes display on the Virtual Private Datacenter Resource Pool screen.
13
NTT Communications
STEP 1 From the Virtual Private Datacenter Resource Pool screen, under the vApp section click the button to begin monitoring of Virtual Machines within the vApp.
STEP 2
The Virtual Machines in the vApp are now being monitored. See the Enterprise Cloud Service section in this document to learn about monitor graphs.

MOVE TO TEMPLATE
A Template is created from an existing vApp, which is a grouping of defined Virtual Machines with default resource allocations. The Template can then be used for creating new vApps. The process below shows how to move a vApp to a Template. NOTE: Only undeployed vApps can be used for creating a Template. When a vApp is moved to a template, the vApp is removed from the Virtual Room. Optionally, contact support to create the Template without removing the vApp, open a support ticket make sure the vApp is undeployed. Once a Template is created, it cannot be removed. STEP 1 From the Virtual Private Datacenter Resource Pool screen, under the vApp section, click the button.
STEP 2
button.
A Capturing Virtual Application Template processing screen will display while the vApp is being moved to a template.
Once completed, the vApp will no longer be displayed on the Virtual Private Datacenter Resource Pool screen. Instead, the vApp will now be available as a Template when creating a new vApp.

Memory Balloon in bytes. The memory balloon driver is used to reclaim memory from a Virtual Machine when the physical host is under memory pressure due to high memory utilization. This value fluctuates based on host memory needs.
37
NTT Communications
Memory Consumed, in bytes. This is the actual consumption of RAM on the physical host. This value may vary significantly from the value the guest operating system believes is in use because of various memory sharing and reclamation techniques utilized.
Memory Swapped in bytes. This value is the amount of physical memory swapped to disk for the Virtual Machine. This will only occur in the event of severe over allocation of physical memory resources, and causes heavy performance degradation. Please contact support for assistance in the event of swap usage.
38
