BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION OF KSA BOARD POSITIONS

1. President: The President is responsible for leading the board members in all meetings and events. The President is also responsible for delegating tasks and setting organizational goals. He/she will assist all board members with their responsibilities when needed. 2. Vice-President: The Vice-President assists the President in carrying out his/her duties. If the President is unable or absent to carry out his/her duties, the Vice-President assumes the leadership role. * The President and/or Vice-President also are required to hold office hours once a week at AsianAmerican Student Union. 3. Secretary: The secretary is responsible for taking meeting minutes. The secretary is also responsible for managing the KSA email account and making room/contact table reservations. 4. Treasurer: The treasurer has access to the KSA bank account. The treasurer is responsible for maintaining the KSA bank account. The other main responsibilities include applying for grants, collecting receipts, making budget summaries, and preparing for pre- and post-event summaries with the Student Union & Activities Office. The treasurer will work with the President and the Vice-President to prepare budgets for events and consult with other board members for budget items. 5. Activities Coordinator (2): The activities coordinators are responsible for planning, coordinating, and organizing the activities that will take place at a given event. They may also be responsible for leading events, preparing games/ice-breakers and being in charge of the decorations/materials needed for events. Other duties include reserving rooms, submitting permits for the event and participating in the pre-event meeting with SUA. ACs are also responsible to ensure everything for a event is planned out before the day of the event. 6. Public Relations (2): The Public Relations Chairs are responsible for promoting KSA and its events on campus. The public relations chairs must have general knowledge of making flyers and great communication skills. When the flyer is done, the public relations chair will create a Facebook event page with the flyer image. During the summer, the public relations chairs will seek sponsorships for the KSA. The PRs must have general knowledge on how to make business contracts, as they will be needed for sponsorships. 7. ASU/MISA Representative: The ASU/MISA representative is responsible for attending the bi-weekly Asian-American Student Union GA meetings and monthly MISA meetings to represent the KSA. In the ASU/MISA meetings, the ASU/MISA representative will talk about upcoming KSA events. They will also share ASU/MISA and ASU/MISA affiliate event information during the KSA board meeting. 8. Web Master: The webmaster is responsible for updating and maintaining the KSA website. He/she will also work with PRs on creating Facebook event, updating, and uploading photos. Previous knowledge with or strong desire to learn website design is strongly recommended. The webmaster must also communicate regularly with PR in promoting KSA events. 9. Roles that everyone shares: Have passion in sharing Koran culture, attend affiliate events, stop by at ASU/MISA every once in a while, get to know those interested in Korean culture on campus, assist fellow board members and most importantly, HAVE FUN representing KSA!
