1 A brief Overview on Modeling and Simulation Software

A computer model, as used in modeling and simulation science, is a mathematical representation of something-a person, a building, a vehicle, a tree-any object Here in this page we will introduce some most famous and important software in this field .

The EDEM Simulator is EDEM's discrete element solver, providing fast, efficient detection of contact between discrete objects. http://www.dem-solutions.com/software/edem-simulator.php
Perform discrete-element simulations writing out results at predetermined intervals. Use Selective Save to only save the data you're interested in. Real-time visualization lets you interrogate during run-time to quickly identify trends and correct problems. EDEM provides a range of mechanical contact models, including: Hertz-Mindlin Linear Spring Conveyor Cohesion Bonded Particles

http://www.mvsoft.com/eqsintro.htm Developed by one of the world's leading authorities on the subject, Dr. Peter M. Bentler, EQS provides researchers and statisticians with a simple method for conducting the full range of structural equations models including multiple regression, multivariate regression, confirmatory factor analysis, structured means analysis, path analysis, and multiple population comparisons. Users agree that EQS is more complete and much easier to use than other products such as LISREL. With EQS, no knowledge of matrix algebra is required! EQS provides the most accurate known statistics for analysis on data that may not be multivariate normally distributed (real data are typically non-normal!) with the Satorra-Bentler scaled chi-square, robust standard errors, and the Yuan-Bentler distribution-free statistics. These features are not available in other modeling programs. EQS now includes polyserial and polychoric correlations for treating categorical data, additional exploration functions, enhancements to the RETEST and WTEST options, and the ability to import weight matrices.

http://www.simulia.com/products/abaqus_cae.html With Abaqus/CAE you can quickly and efficiently create, edit, monitor, diagnose, and visualize advanced Abaqus analyses. The intuitive interface integrates modeling, analysis, job management, and results visualization in a consistent, easy-to-use environment that is simple to learn for new users, yet highly productive for experienced users. Abaqus/CAE supports familiar interactive computer-aided engineering concepts such as feature-based, parametric modeling, interactive and scripted operation, and GUI customization. Users can create geometry, import CAD models for meshing, or integrate geometry-based meshes that do not have associated CAD geometry. Interfaces for CATIA V5, SolidWorks, and Pro/ENGINEER enable synchronization of CAD and CAE assemblies and enable rapid model updates with no loss of user-defined analysis features. The open customization toolset of Abaqus/CAE provides a powerful process automation solution, enabling specialists to deploy proven workflows across the engineering enterprise. Abaqus/CAE also offers comprehensive visualization options, which enable users to interpret and communicate the results of any Abaqus analysis.

http://www.maplesoft.com/products/maplesim/index.aspx With MapleSim, systems are described in a compact and intuitive component diagram using next-generation physical modeling techniques, making them easier to build and understand. Model equations are automatically generated and simplified, yielding concise models and high-speed simulations of sophisticated systems. With MapleSim, you will produce better products and dramatically shorten the product development cycle.

MapleSim is a high-performance multi-domain modeling and simulation tool which will revolutionize how you bring products to market. The world's most advanced symbolic computing engine comes together with traditional numeric solvers to supercharge the simulation and modeling process. MapleSim allows you to mix physical components with traditional signal-flow blocks. The model diagram looks like the real system. Multi-domain models are easily assembled from pre-built components. Multibody mechanical systems are simulated with a powerful, unique engine. Custom components are defined by deriving and specifying the mathematical equations that determine the behavior of the component. Units management removes potential conversion and consistency errors. Live design documentation captures the analysis behind the model. System equations are automatically generated for you. Complex models are automatically simplified using sophisticated symbolic techniques. Solutions are easy to share and deploy.
