My son Karim is 15 and a proud Terra Nova Tiger and my twin girls, Amirah and Ananda are 13 and are enjoying their final year as IBL Middle School Bulldogs. My children are the reason I am running. SADHANA (SANDY) NARAYAN FRANCHI (Hillsborough) Candidate for CD 14 Obama Delegate I was one of the founding members of the Hillsborough Democratic Club (HDC) in 2008 and have served as President of HDC since 2010. I have been active in the Democratic Party most of my adult life and have worked over the last 15 years in helping elect President Barack Obama, Tom Lantos, Jackie Speier, John Garamendi, Kamala Harris, Tom Lantos, Jerry Hill, leland Yee, Gina Papan, Dr. Ami Bera and other Democrats. I served as an Associate Delegate to the California State Democratic Convention in San Diego in 2012. I grew up in SSF/San Bruno, attending SSF High School, UC Berkeley and USF Law School, where I met my husband, Gregory Franchi. For the last 25 years I have been a civil attorney and successful law firm/small business owner and employer in Burlingame/San Mateo. I am also an Adjunct Professor of Law at UCSF. I have lived in Hillsborough for the last 13 years. We have two children in the local public schools, Burlingame High School and Crocker Middle School. I love living on the Peninsula. I have worked hard in my community to make it a better place; and have served or currently serve on the Board of Directors of the San Mateo County Bar Association, the Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center, the Young Mens' Service League-Peninsula Chapter, and the South Asian Bar Association Foundation. Having been born in Fiji, I have established, funded, and distributed scholarships for an underserved group of students of Pacific Island background for the last 7 years. My father, who worked for 30 years at the United Airlines Maintenance Base and was a Machinist Union member, always told me that "it is our obligation to give back to this great country".
