A Passenger Name Record (PNR) is an automated record of a complete reservation. This record stores all the
details of the clients itinerary for future reference and modification. There are basically 2 types of PNR fields in
a PNR. They are Mandatory and Optional fields. Lets first learn how to create the PNR mandatory field.

The five mandatory items needed to create a PNR. Without these five mandatory items, the computer will not
allow the agent to save record. ABACUS will upon creation of the PNR generate messages to the airlines
concerned with the relevant information.

The code appended at the end of each flight segment in the city pair availability or schedule timetable display is
called Total Access tag code. Each tag code represents the booking level of participation among airlines in

because each level determines the proper way of selling a flight seat.
