ESPNS AUSSIES ABROAD A NINE TIME WINNER AT 33rd ANNUAL TELLY AWARDS

ESPNs outstanding series Aussies Abroad has picked up a Silver Award (the highest honour) and 8 Bronze Awards at the prestigious 33rd Annual Telly Awards. With nearly 11,000 entries from all 50 US states and numerous countries, the series won awards in the Documentary, Sports and Live Sports events categories.

Bristol, C T April 24, 2012 ESPNs outstanding series Aussies Abroad has b een widely celebrated at the 33rd Annual Telly A wards, collecting NINE Tellies. With nearly 11,000 entries from a ll 50 US states and numerous countries, Aussies Abroad won awards in the Documentary, Sports and Live Events categories. The h ealthy haul included a Silver Telly for the one-hour documentary f eaturing the remarkable story of 2011 Tour de France champion Cadel Evans, shot b efore and after his h istoric win. Titled Cadel Evans -Road to Glory, the Silver Telly - the A wards h ighest honour with less than 10% of entries chosen as winners - was a warded in the Documentary Category. The series, hosted by Bristol-based Aussie Jason Bennett, who co-produces the p rogram with Sean Riley and Tim Coakley (One World Sports Media) a nd, is broadcast in Australia, New Zealand, UK and Caribbean. Aussies Abroad p rovides v iewers with unique insight into life as a p rofessional athlete half a world from home.
