Hi Shivi, Further to our communication on skype, in order to start preparing for GMAT, you can take a look at these websites : www.mba.com - this is the official website of GMAT conducting body named GMAC. You can start by registering yourself here and start getting all the updates through subscription to their newsletter. You will also find a software with mock GMAT test. You might want to take those as and when you start with your serious preparation for GMAT. However the format has changed from last year when I had given, so you may want to take a look at the site for the information. www.beatthegmat.com - this is a very useful forum for GMAT aspirants. Visit it once and you will know why. It has all the information stacked up. The more you surf this, more things you are going to come across www.crack-gmat.com - similar to beatthegmat.com, its a very famous forum for GMAT. For preparations, their are many institutes which run exclusively for GMAT. If you feel the need of it you can enroll yourself for a classroom program with them for preparation. You might want to check these out : Princeton Review Jambooree Veritas C-square Crack Verbal, etc ( you can google and get more names to find the classroom program to suit your convenience) Certain books are also advised for preparation, I am writing down the names of the ones which I used. If you join a classroom program, they will also give you their material and they will tell you which book to buy: Official Guide, 12th edition (this is considered to be the text book for GMAT) Manhattan - Sentence Correction Kaplan - premier princeton review - cracking the gmat For the starters on GMAT, here is the breakup of the paper. Once again, the below format is two years old when I had given the paper. Now the format has been changed so take a look for the latest marking scheme and section wise weightage. 1. Two essay writing - 30 minutes each - rated on a scale of 0 to 6 with step value of 0.5. 2. Quant section - 37 questions - rated on a scale of 0 to 60 - time limit is 75 minutes 3. verbal section - 41 questions - rated on a scale of 0 to 60 - time limit is 75 minutes The combined score for Quant and Verbal sections is scaled up to 800 and the score is then given from 800 with a step value of 10. The essays are rated by professionals and the score for essays comes in about a week's time. Quant and Verbal scores are readily given at the test venue itself.
