RATIONALE The role of the cooperative movement in nation building particularly in the countryside cannot be discounted considering the benefits being derived thereof. Thus, prompted the concerned residents of Pinget to conceive and organize and the Pinget Credit Cooperative in March, 2011. From a small beginning of five (5) founding members, its membership increased little by little and at present there are already at least fifty (50) members. However, due to the economic crisis brought about by the fluctuating oil prices which is very unpredictable, and the cost of basic and prime commodities was greatly affected, the proponent thought of expanding the Pinget Credit Cooperative into a multi-purpose cooperative to address the pressing needs of the community. And this saw the birth of the Pinget Community Multi-Purpose Cooperative to integrate credit and consumers therein. And so there is a need to enhance the budgetary requirements to augment the seed money based on the subscribed share capital for the realization of the project. In addition, the provision of ambulatory services is being conceived to respond in case of any emergency in the community. This also needs a sizable budget. III. OBJECTIVES 1. To encourage thrift and savings mobilization among its members. 2. To create funds and grant loans to members for productive and providential purposes. 3. To procure and provide the goods and services and other requirements of the members. 4. To engage in the supply of production inputs to members and market their products. 5. To develop and boost the image of the cooperative as a caring institution and enterprise responsive to the needs of its members and the community. 6. To actively support the government and other concerned organizations, both local and foreign, in promoting cooperativism as a practical means towards sustainable socioeconomic development under a truly and just democratic society. 7. To develop the knowledge of the members on the principles in managing the affairs of the cooperative.

8. To institutionalize a dynamic savings mobilization and capital build-up schemes to sustain its

developmental activities and long-term investments, thereby ensuring optimum economic benefits to the members, their families and the general public. 9. To implement policy guidelines that will ensure transparency, equitable access to its resources and services, and promote the interests of the members 10. To provide ambulatory services to cater to the community in cases of any emergency. 11. To adopt such other plans as may help foster the welfare of the members, their families and the community. IV. PROJECT DURATION The task of implementing a program or project requires monetary consideration specifically for material and human resources. As stipulated above, the target coverage is from April December 2012, however, it will depend on the availability of the funds.
