CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE AND METHODOLOGY

Scope of Work: Broadly includes broadly Construction of ROB @ 1 nos., VUPs @ 2 nos. and Superstructure of Minor Bridge @ 1 nos. Construction Sequence: We intend to commence construction of both the VUPs simultaneously and upon completion of such works, the shuttering and staging materials shall be used for Minor Bridge and ROB superstructure works. In the mean time, we intend to complete foundation works of ROB before the commencement of Monsoon. Construction Methodology: Construction Methodology of different types of structures are mentioned below

(I). Construction Methodology of Superstructure of Minor Bridge

1. Upon completion of Abutment Retaining wall construction, the RCC Pedestal shall be cast. Thereupon the Elastomeric Bearing shall be installed. 2. In the mean time the weep holes need to be installed and backfilling shall be completed at backside of retaining wall after installation of filter media if any. 3. Necessary Heavy Duty Staging shall be installed underneath along with necessary shuttering works for shuttering and cast of RCC girder and deck slab. The Heavy Duty staging shall be tied up with integrity to avoid any buckling or slippage due to water flow in the canal down below. 4. Necessary TMT Re-bars shall be cut, bend and installed in the RCC girders. 5. Prestressing works shall commence thereon including profiling and installation of HT strands. 6. Necessary M-40 grade RCC shall be laid in Pre-stressed members. Upon concreting, grouting and stressing shall be commenced as directed by the Structural Engineer. 7. Further TMT Re-bars shall be laid for the Deck slab and necessary M-30 Grade RCC shall be cast. 8. Necessary curing of concrete works shall be carried out. 9. Expansion joints wherever required shall be installed. 10. Re-bar fixing shall be carried out for RCC crash barriers and shall be cast thereon with M40 grade concrete. 11. PCC of M-15 grade shall be laid over backfilled soil for base of Approach slab. 12. Reinforcements shall be laid for Approach slab and RCC of M-30 grade shall be cast thereafter. 13. Fixing of necessary GI drainage spouts shall be installed.

(II). Construction Methodology of VUP 1. Existing road traffic shall be diverted and site area for construction of VUP shall be cordoned to avoid intrusion of general public and others keeping the safety aspects in mind. 2. Necessary survey using Total Station shall be carried out for the alignment and orientation of the VUP. 3. Excavation works shall be carried upon for foundation works of Abutments. 4. Thereupon PCC- M15 grade shall be laid as a leveling course for foundation works. 5. Necessary TMT Re-bars shall be installed for foundation works. Thereafter RCC M-30 grade concrete shall be laid duly providing necessary shuttering. 6. Necessary backfilling shall be carried out upon completion of foundation RCC works and necessary curing. 7. Further Re-bars shall be laid for Abutment wall construction. 8. Necessary shuttering works shall be carried out thereafter up to a height of 2.4 to 3m to cast RCC wall. Entire Abutment wall shall be cast in stages in 3 to 4 lifts. 9. Upon completion of Abutment Retaining wall construction, the RCC Pedestal shall be cast. Thereupon the Elastomeric Bearing shall be installed. 10. In the mean time the weep holes need to be installed and backfilling shall be completed at backside of retaining wall after installation of filter media. 11. Necessary Heavy Duty Staging shall be installed underneath along with necessary shuttering works for shuttering and cast of RCC girder and deck slab. The Heavy Duty staging shall be tied up with integrity to avoid any buckling or slippage. 12. Necessary TMT Re-bars shall be cut, bend and installed in RCC girders and deck slab. 13. Upon completion M-30 Grade RCC shall be cast for construction of girders and deck slab. 14. Necessary curing of concrete works shall be carried out. 15. Expansion joints wherever required shall be installed. 16. Re-bar fixing shall be carried out for RCC crash barriers and shall be cast thereon with M40 grade concrete. 17. PCC of M-15 grade shall be laid over backfilled soil for base of Approach slab. 18. Reinforcements shall be laid for Approach slab and RCC of M-30 grade shall be cast thereafter. 19. Fixing of necessary GI drainage spouts shall be installed.

(III). Construction Methodology of ROB Existing road traffic shall be diverted and site area for construction of ROB shall be cordoned to avoid intrusion of general public and others keeping the safety aspects in mind. 2. Necessary survey using Total Station shall be carried out for the alignment and orientation of the ROB. 3. Existing Railway track being very near to the edge of Abutment footing, excavation for Abutment footing need to be carried out maintaining side slopes 1: 1.5 or 2 to prevent collapse of soil beside Railway track. 1.

4. Apart from above safety measures, cordoning near abutment footing shall be carried out with GI sheets fixing deep inside to prevent exposure to the rail movement and slippage of soil from railway track side. 5. Excavation works shall be carried there upon for foundation works of Abutments and Piers.

6. Thereupon PCC- M15 grade shall be laid as a leveling course for foundation works. 7. Necessary TMT Re-bars shall be installed for foundation works. Thereafter RCC M-30 grade concrete shall be laid duly providing necessary shuttering. 8. Necessary backfilling shall be carried out upon completion of foundation RCC works and necessary curing. 9. Further Re-bars shall be laid for Abutment wall and Pier constructions. 10. Necessary shuttering works shall be carried out thereafter up to a height of 2.4 to 3m to cast RCC wall. Entire abutment wall and Piers shall be cast in stages. 11. Upon completion of Abutment wall and Pier construction, the RCC Pedestal shall be cast. Thereupon the Elastomeric Bearing shall be installed. 12. In the mean time the weep holes need to be installed and backfilling shall be completed at backside of retaining wall after installation of filter media. 13. Girder and Deck slab in between A1 and P1 (i.e span over Rail crossing) shall be made Precast and shall be erected thereafter to avoid Railway traffic. 14. Necessary Heavy Duty Staging shall be installed underneath along with necessary shuttering works for shuttering and cast of RCC girder and deck slab. The Heavy Duty staging shall be tied up with integrity to avoid any buckling or slippage. 15. Necessary TMT Re-bars shall be cut, bend and installed in the RCC girders. 16. Prestressing works shall commence thereon including profiling and installation of HT strands. 17. Necessary M-40 grade RCC shall be laid in Pre-stressed members. Upon concreting, grouting and stressing of HT strands shall be commenced as directed by the Structural Engineer. 18. Further TMT Re-bars shall be laid for the Deck slab and necessary M-30 Grade RCC shall be cast. 19. Necessary curing of concrete works shall be carried out. 20. Expansion joints wherever required shall be installed. 21. Re-bar fixing shall be carried out for RCC crash barriers and shall be cast thereon with M40 grade concrete. 22. PCC of M-15 grade shall be laid over backfilled soil for base of Approach slab. 23. Reinforcements shall be laid for Approach slab and RCC of M-30 grade shall be cast thereafter for Approach slab. 24. Fixing of necessary GI drainage spouts shall be installed wherever shown as per drawing.
