Shemo 1

Kelly Shemo English 1102 Elizabeth Caruso 12 April 2012 The JFK Assassination: The Master Plan Almost everyone has heard of the assassination of John F. Kennedy, either from their parents, grandparents, or another source. It is one of the most well-known assassinations in American history and to people who have studied it, quite strange. However, what most people havent heard is a different twist and possible truth behind the event. When most people think of the JFK assassination, more than likely a combination of names, places, and theories comes to mind. To this day, even though Lee Harvey Oswald was the convicted assassin, there was barely any real evidence and it wasnt solid. Before Oswald was murdered, investigators never got a clear answer as to why he shot the 35th president of the United States. Soon after the assassination and continuing years after, many conspiracies arose about the overall assassination and if Oswald was alone. Of all the conspiracies, there is one that makes more sense than the rest. The theory says that Lyndon B. Johnson, with help from the government, was behind the assassination because of JFKs overall progress and the bad decisions he was making as president. LBJ: The Mastermind of the JFK Assassination is a book all about Lyndon B. Johnson, his life, his undeniable duty to be president, and mysterious clues that could link him to the murder (Nelson). The movie, The Master Plan, will prove how Johnson was the brains behind the whole assassination, even though Lee Harvey Oswald did the crime. The purpose is to show a different perspective of the assassination from the original. The assassination will be shown from 3 different points of view. A view from the assassin; Lee Harvey Oswald, of the vice president Johnson, and Phil Willis, a spectator near the motorcade
Comment [c2]: When I read your proposal awhile back I did not know where you could go with the conspiracies, but this is a good idea and concept for the movie! Comment [c1]: Can probably reword this part to make the sentence flow better.

when JFK was shot. Rather than Oswald being convicted, killed and the case handed over to the Warren Commission, it will continue and Johnson will be arrested for the murder. The purpose of the movie is to not only give a different outcome of the assassination but to show that the saying, keep your friends close and your enemies closer is true. Even though JFK was not exactly an enemy like taking over the universe, in Johnsons eyes he was. Johnson was born with the expectations of becoming the president one day. So he had to do whatever it took to become president, even if it has to be to kill the president. At the end of the movie, the audience will be stunned when they find out what happens. They will also find the movie believable because the people and places are all real. Furthermore, the main characters that will be involved in the movie will be: John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Marilyn Monroe, Lee Harvey Oswald, and Phil Willis. Other characters will be: the main news reporter and crew, Jacqueline Kennedy, the other gunman, and some government officials. Starting with JFK, the President of the United States and also the victim, he is the main character that the movie is about. The short time that he is alive, his character will be seen as very arrogant and rude. The scene that will show him alive will be him and the first lady in the motorcade shortly before he is shot. Jacqueline is trying to carry on a conversation with her husband concerning family matters and the way he treats his personnel. However he is ignoring her and says disrespectful things to her, but still with a smile on his face to hide from the crowd. The next character that will play an important role in the movie is the antagonist and former vice president, Lyndon B. Johnson. His personality in this movie will be very friendly, but fake. The book that was written about his life says that he had bipolar disorder, but hid it well throughout his life. That characteristic will be seen in the movie without stating that he has the disorder. Marilyn Monroes role adds passion and strength to the overall movie.
Comment [c5]: Since you are portraying real people from historyare you going to display how they really were or create personalities for them? I dont know if Kennedy was like that to his wife or not so I was just wondering which angle you were coming from. Comment [c4]: Elaborate more on what the audience is supposed to feel and how they will react to the movie in your pitch. Good basis on the plot of the story, but now bring the attention to why the audience would want to see itaction, romance, a little bit of bothwhat...? Also make sure to get the audience of your paper interested in your idea. Comment [c3]: Clear/reword this sentence

Comment [c6]: So this is your view of on their personality? (previous comment)

JFK has a flashback on the way to the hospital of a night he had with Marilyn. In the scene she expresses her love for him through tears and anger. Days later, she died mysteriously. Although Lee Harvey Oswald is the one that kills JFK, he is only in one main scene, when he shoots JFK. In the scene, he is setting up his gun, then he starts to have second thoughts about the crime he is about to commit. In this scene, the audience will see how unsure he is. They will also get the vibe that he isnt alone. The last character that is of great importance is the random spectator that happened to be taking pictures at the assassination, Phil Willis. His role in the movie is one of the points of view. He is keen and interested in helping the authorities after the assassination. He uses the photos he took before and after the assassination for evidence in the case. His point of views is one of the most important because he catches a glimpse of Oswald in the window after he shot JFK and takes a quick photo. Even though he doesnt know it, he had also got a photo that briefly shows the person that fired the first shot. The characters that are in the movie all have important key roles throughout the movie, whether its the shooter, lover, victim, or villain. (I still need to explain my concept, and about the audience) Questions I have: Does it seem that I have too much detail? I feel like I need to combine the plot and characters together, but then I think I wont be able to talk about the characters as much. Is my paper formal, because I feel likes its more conversational and I have a really bad time talking formally.

Comment [c8]: Maybe give a little more insight on Monroes character in the movie

Comment [c9]: Elaborate on that thoughtwhat do you mean he is one of the point of views?

Comment [c10]: Make these sentences flow better together to have a clear understanding on why Willis is important. Comment [c11]: Maybe put this before you categorize the charactersor find a better endingtransition sentence to the next paragraph.

Comment [c12]: I think you could have more detail about both, the plot and characters. And I think its formal, but has a touch of conversational wording which I think is fine because you want to connect with the audience of the paper and really pitch the idea to them. But to make it more formal, you could possibly fix the wording up a bit, cut down sentences that may repeat, get rid of fluff(which you dont have much of) and that should help give that formal look.
