1.6 An introduction to Problem Solving


Objectives: Write algebraic expressions that can be simplified. Apply the steps for problem solving. Writing and Simplifying Algebraic Expressions
In order to prepare for problem solving, we practice writing algebraic expressions that can be simplified.

1. Writing algebraic expressions from verbal expressions. Identify key words/phrases: more/less than, increase/decrease, times, of, is, etc. Addition Subtraction Multiplication Division
