JOB DESCRIPTION: Project Manager Rural Electrification (HOD level)

Overall Position Purpose Qualification

Responsible for Tendering, Engineering, Design & execution of energy projects. B.E Electrical from leading Institutes. PMP / IPMA-C (Desirable) 1. More than 15 years of experience in Power Generation and Transmission Industries. 2. Min 10 years in execution of Power transmission and distribution projects outside India.

35-40 years.

Position Objective 1. Execution of ongoing projects. 2. Prepare Designs, BOQ, Schedules & Specifications for Project Requirements. 3. Ensure control of schedule and budgets. 4. Contractual Closure of Projects. 5. Develop second level of technical & Managerial leadership.

President-Projects / COO / ED Operations.

PERSON PROFILE

A. Key Functional Skills Construction, Operation and Maintenance of 400 Volts to 400 KV substations and lines. Knowledge of Project Management Practice, Study the contract document, tender document, bid details and refer to the final contract for verification. Sub Contractor and Vendor Management. Knowledge of technical and financial closure of the project. Knowledge of Contract Management, Budgeting, Costing & Tendering, and also Consulting with project Division Head, Executive Director Operation and other concern authorities regarding requirement of Sub-Contractor/s and informing the same to all concern department/s. Knowledge of instrumentation, Basic MS Office

B. Key Leadership / Behavioral Skills Adaptability to new situations. Ability to work with people of the related parties. Prepare requirement of project organizational staff for better Execution Communication skills. Ability to negotiate under time and cost constraints, Co-ordinate with Accounts team for preparation of Performa Invoice, Draft Letter of Credit, ABG and PBG and submit the same to client for approval Receipt of LC from client or opening of LC by client to EXIM and co-ordinate with Procurement incase of back to back transfer with vendors depending upon contract. C. Key Responsibility Long Term and Defined (Internal) Execution of projects as planned within budgeted costs and adhering to quality and safety standards, Discuss and define quality check process/ billing process/ schedule for meetings/ escalation method in case of queries with concern people. Submit the duly approved Service Invoice of client to Accounts for EXIM Bank submission process. Monitor the BG/LC Amendment/Expiry/Extension related issue with Accounts department and ask for prior intimation for the same. And Timely follow-up with client after getting information. At time of project closure duly acquire successful PGTR (Performance Guarantee Test Run Certificate) from concern authority, demobilizes surplus staff and material which is not required Request for generation of Advance Invoice (post LC opening) and submission of Advance Invoice and Bank Guarantee to client.. Track all budgeted vs. actual performances of project, identify the reason for variation and report to Operations Head/ Project Division Head and ask for corrective action on the same

Sporadic and Undefined (External) Planning for dealing with extraordinary situations such as Delivery of Material, labour problems, local issues, etc Planning for health and life insurance of people involved in execution of the projects.
