Course Specification
Course Title Course Code Length of the Course Core or Optional Course Level Semester availability Learning Hours Credits Awarded Professional Accreditation Instructor Prof. Sayed Fadel Bahgat: Phone: 0502877390, Office: FCIS building, ROOM 18 (W 103 B), Email: Sayed_fadel2006@yahoo.com, S.fadel@tu.edu.sa Course Description The objective of the course is to provide participants with the knowledge required to specify, evaluate and use a wide variety of digital data acquisition systems in laboratory and field applications. Basic principles of sampling and digitizing theory are presented and reinforced with practical examples from everyday testing operations. Emphasis is placed on understanding the theoretical concepts through "mechanical feel" rather than mathematics Course Objectives Data Acquisition Systems 503423-3 1 Semester Core Eight Second Semester 3 Hours weekly 100 ???

Pre-requisite
Course Policy
Class participation and regular attendance is expected. Students are responsible for bringing themselves up-to-date on class material and assignments.
Assignments
Anonymous marking: Assessment for this course will be carried out in accordance with the current university and faculty guidelines, which include advice and procedures for anonymous marking where this is possible. Assessment feedback: Feedback is provided to students in accordance with the current university and faculty guidelines. Normally, marks and formative feedback are given within 15 working days of the submission of an assignment.
Absence Policy
As participation is considered essential to a successful educational experience, students that exceed class absences (25% of lectures) are being considered dropped from the course and prevented from entering the final exam. There will be no makeup exams; students must instead make arrangements with the instructor to take the exam prior to the planned absence. Students failing to maintain a passing grade at any point during the semester may be involuntary dropped from the course through an instructor-initiated withdrawal process. There will be two exams in the course. The mid-term exam will be in week 9 during the lecture time. The second exam will be held during the course final exam period. Grading mechanics: Mid-Term Exam lab 20% 10% Home Work Final Exam 10% 50% External work 10%
