Theory MP-211: Kinematics and Dynamics of Machinery Recommended Books Theory of Machine Author: R.S. Khurmi Theory of Machine Author: S.S. Rattan Tips KDM is not an easy subject. You are advised to study it properly because it is a high scoring subject. Both the above mentioned books would be required since none of them explains all the topics in detail. You are also advised to go through your class notes on a daily basis as it will enable you to answer at least 80% of the questions asked in the examination. MP-212: Control System Recommended Books Control System Authors: I.J. Nagrath and M. Gopal Modern Control Engineering Author: Katsuhiko Ogata Modern Control System Author: B.S. Manke Tips You must go through the book by I.J. Nagrath and M. Gopal (along with your class notes) in order to understand the concepts. Try to solve as many numericals based on the topics covered in class as possible since this will help you improve your score. Tips

Practise all the solved examples as well as the exercises (at least go through them once). It is advisable do this while the chapter is being taught in class rather than leaving it for the week before the exams (that wouldnt give you much time for the other subjects). Do not be under the impression that the tough questions given in the exercises cannot be asked. Anything that is included in the syllabus can be asked. So, make sure that you can solve all the exercise questions. Secondly, and more importantly, dont confine your preparation to solving the exercise questions .i.e. also go through the questions done in class carefully, since 60% of the questions asked relate to the topics covered in class (both theorems and numerical problems).

MP-214: Manufacturing Process II Recommended Books Manufacturing Processes and automation Author: R.S. Parmar Publisher: Khanna Publishers Workshop Technology(Vol. II) Authors: S.K Hajra Choudhury, A.K Hajra Choudhury and Nirjhar Roy Publisher: Media Promoters & Publishers Pvt. Ltd. Tips This is quite a scoring subject if you read it thoroughly. Notes given by RSP Sir and PRK Sir are generally sufficient to fetch good marks. So, be regular in their classes. You can also refer to the above mentioned book. Just a tip for the exam: try to support your answers with well labelled diagrams.

MP-215: Management of Manufacturing Systems No books recommended. Search for topics on the Internet Tips Generally, all the questions asked in the exam can be answered on the basis of a knowledge of your class notes. So, maintain proper notes for this subject and also try to interact with your professor as this would help you a lot.

Practicals Use the same books for practicals as well

MP-216: KDM lab Maintain your file properly and try to be regular in your classes as regularity also carries marks. MP-217: Control System Lab The experiments are not very easy. So, you are advised to perform all the experiments at least once before the exam. MP-218: Manufacturing Processes II Lab Attend all classes regularly. Only a thorough knowledge of the subject can help you sail through the viva. Also complete the given workpiece in time.
