Community Vision
Local communities would like to contribute to a day when there is enough clean water and healthy wildlife habitat in the Colorado River in Mexico to support and improve recreation, environmental education, and economic opportunities (like hunting, fishing, and tourism) for local people.

We implemented a total of ten community work days that include one or more of the following: invasive species clean-up, irrigation system installation, and tree planting.
The Adopt-the-River program is designed to increase community responsibility through direct action because experience has shown that without capacity-building and active local participation, restoration projects are not sustainable over the long-term.
