(psychomotor): perform the dance to music without making more than 3 mistakes 2. (cognitive): demonstrate mastery of the dance by reciting the cues when called upon by the teacher 3. (affective): constructively criticize an assigned classmate about the execution of the dance when given an assessment sheet H. National Standards: 1. Demonstrates competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities. 5. Exhibits responsible, personal, and social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity settings. I. ISBE Standards: 19. A.3 Demonstrate control when performing combinations and sequences of locomotor, nonlocomotor and manipulative motor patterns in selected activities, games and sport. 21.A.3c Remain on task independent of distraction (e.g., peer pressure, environmental stressors). Health-Related Fitness (HRF) Component & Activities that Support Learning of HRF: Muscular endurance will be addressed during this lesson during the repetition of the dance. This will be addressed at the end of the lesson by teachers during the closure. L. (4-5 min) Instant Activity: Cupid Shuffle 1) Description: The students will do the explicitly stated dance moves to the song Cupid Shuffle. The students will be standing in a grid and they will start facing forward (toward the teachers). 2) Safety: Students will remain respectful of each others space. Body parts will be kept to

themselves. 3) Diagram of activity: See Attached 4) Transition to next lesson component: The music will end and the students will be instructed to sit where they are. M. (1-2 min) Set Induction The students will be asked, How many of you have done some kind of dance in the past? How many of you have ever line danced? It is important to learn how to line dance because line dancing is everywhere. N. (6 min) Task 1:The First 4 Steps to the Rocky Mountain Line Dance 1) Description: The students will be instructed to get into one large circle. The students will then turn their attention to the center of the circle to see the teachers. The teachers will demonstrate the full Rocky Mountain Line Dance to the students. The teachers will then show the students the first 4 steps to the dance (see attached). The teachers will then ask the students to perform the first 4 steps of the dance without the assistance of the teachers while the instructors look on. 2) Safety: Be respectful of other students space 3) Diagram: see attached 4) Extension: The students will perform the dance to music 5) Refinement: Right heel, crossover toe Right heel Together 6) Application: Can you do the dance while saying the cues to the dance? 7) Transition to next lesson component: The students will return their attention to the center. O. (5 min) Task 2: Steps 5-10 of the Rocky Mountain Line Dance 1) Description: The teachers will demonstrate steps 5-10 of the dance while giving cues (see attached). The students will then be asked to perform the steps with the teachers leading. The teachers will then ask the students to perform steps 5-10 without visual guidance from the instructors. The students will then perform the whole dance up to this point while following along with the teachers. The students will then be asked to perform the dance with the teachers leading. The teachers will ask the students to perform steps 11-16 without visual guidance from the instructors. The students will then be asked to perform the dance with the teachers leading. The teachers will ask the students to perform steps 17-24 without visual guidance from the instructors. The students will then perform the entire dance up to this point while following the teachers.
