Rob Wilson

Rob Wilson is simply the best driver coach in the world.

Peter Windsor, former Williams and Ferrari Team Manager

Rob Wilson is regarded by most people in F1 as the best driver coach and judge of talent in the world. A fast and successful competitor in all types of racing cars for the past 36 years, Rob has coached many leading F1 drivers including Kimi Raikonen, Nico Rosberg, Juan Pablo Montoya, David Coulthard and even Valentino Rossi and the Ford WRC rally drivers. Rob has a very busy life. One minute competing at Le Mans or Daytona, the next evaluating F1 drivers for Mercedes Grand Prix or training drivers for Red Bull Racing. A New Zealander, Rob was instantly successful in Formula Ford when he first came to Europe in 1974. He moved swiftly upwards into British

Formula 3, where he beat future World Champions Nelson Piquet and Nigel Mansell in some of the most dramatic wheel-to-wheel races ever seen in the junior ranks. He made it to the fringe of F1, receiving offers to drive for both Tyrrell and Fittipaldi, but never had the budget required. He also says that he could have become a McLaren driver in the late 70s but the team didnt like his rock star image! Rob, now 56 has won over 400 races throughout his career including the FIA "World Endurance Touring Car Championship" as recently as 1999. When not racing, driving or flying all over the world, Rob plays bass guitar and sings in his blues-rock group.

British Formula Ford 2010

Tio raced in the 2010 MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain with the front running JTR team. It was his first season of car racing and he had just 40 laps in a Formula BMW at Pembrey Circuit under his belt at that point. Tio only got 4 full tests done before the first race at Oulton Park. All 4 tests were in poor weather conditions and were red-flaged for much of the time.

Tio was fastest in the official Friday test in wet conditions and in qualifying was in pole position until title favourite and eventual winner, Scott Pye, pipped him on the last lap. As it was, Tio was only the second driver since Ayrton Senna to start on the front row of a British Formula Ford race on his car racing debut.

Tio was 60 seconds away from being the first driver since Ayrton Senna in 1981 to get a British Formula Ford pole position on his car racing debut.

British Formula Ford 2010

Tios fourth position in the MSA British Formula Ford championship is the best placing for a novice driver since Jenson Button in 1998.
Other notable performances Tio had at least a pole, win, podium, fastest lap or fastest "ideal" lap at every circuit he went to. The only driver to have a "perfect" weekend with pole, lights to flag victory and fastest lap in both races and the lap record. Everyone who was ahead of him in the championship is a current or previous Formula Ford champion.

He overtook 11 cars and moved from a distant 27th to 7th at the end. Tio never drove on the Brands Hatch GP circuit before race day where he qualified 4th at 2:00PM and then came third in the race at 5:00PM with a lap time just 0.003s off the fastest lap. With 3 poles, winning his quarter and semi final races and finishing 3rd in the Final with fastest lap, Tio had the best performance at the Formula Ford Festival since Jenson Button in 1998.

Formula Ford Festival 2010

Tio is the first driver ever to get pole position, fastest lap and a podium at the Formula Ford Festival in his first year of car racing!
The Formula Ford Festival is an end of year event open to Formula Ford drivers from all over the world. Very often, drivers come back to the Festival despite graduating to higher formulae to have another go at winning this very prestigious event. The weekend consists of testing, qualifying, heats, quarter finals, semi finals and a final. 2009 Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Buton and Red Bull Racings Mark Webber have both won the Festival while names that didnt triumph include Damon Hill, Nigel Mansell, Mika Hakkinen and Kimi Raikkonen. Ayrton Senna refused to compete to avoid being judged in one race! Such is the experience and talent at the Formula Ford Festival that drivers rarely make an impression in their first year of car racing. Two drivers have won it in their debut year: Jenson Button and Johnny Herbert both successful F1 drivers. Of the 8 novice drivers to finish on the podium in the last 25 years, 7 made it to F1 including 2 World Champions! Tio is the first novice driver EVER to get pole position, fastest lap and a podium finish in the Festival Final. He is the first driver regardless of experience to achieve that in at least 14 years. Tios 2010 Festival performance was easily the best since Jenson Button in 1998.

Formula Renault 2.0 UK 2011

Formula Renault UK is the country's leading single-seater championship, launching the Formula One racing careers of Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Rikknen and Heikki Kovalainen. Its popularity and reputation as a source of future world champions leads to extensive coverage in the UK motorsport media both in print and online. The Championship enjoys a high level of exposure due to its place on the support package of the British Touring Car Championship, leading to television coverage on the ITV network.

Success in Formula Renault could mean Formula One is just one year away for Tio!

Kimi Raikkonen (left) won the Formula Renault UK title in 2000 in his second season of car racing. He moved straight to F1 the following year which was unheard of since the 1960s! Although Rob Wilson compares Tio to Kimi, a move to F1 that soon is impossible now due to the restriction on F1 testing. However, the aim is to win the title in year one like Kimi. Lewis Hamilton (below left) moved straight to F Renault from karts and won the title in his second year.

Why Tio ?
If a motor racing driver is to scale the heights of Formula One they must have the complete package. Tio, a selfmanaged driver with no management commitments and having been family funded, possesses all the tools in his armory to reach the top step of the motor racing ladder and become a Formula One World Champion. The rationale behind this bold statement was concluded as a result of the compelling statistics listed below; comparing Tio with other F1 drivers in their first year of Formula Renault, together with feedback given from one of the most respected driver coach Rob Wilson. Tio's ground breaking results and manner in which he conducts himself in press conferences, combined with his unique ability to bring motorsport to a market which has yet to be penetrated, make Tio an incredibly exciting prospect.

The Future Tio wants to build a relationship with a premier team to help plan the next stage of his development.
