rla Bhaktisiddhnta Sarasvat hkura Translation: Nimi Paita Dsa duta mana! tumi kisera vaiava?

pratihra tare, nirjanera ghare, tava harinma kevala kaitava ||1|| Wicked mind! What sort of Vaiava are you? Merely for worldly prestige you make a show of solitary worship of the Hare Ka mahmantra, but your worship is pure hypocrisy. jaera pratih, ukarera vih, jna n ki th 'myra vaibhava' | kanaka-kmin, divasa-ymin, bhviy ki kja, anitya se saba ||2|| Worldly prestige is as abominable as the dung of a hog. Don't you know that it is an illusion created by the illusory material potency? Day and night you meditate on wealth and beautiful women. Of what worth are these? They are all temporary. tomra kanaka, bhogera janaka, kanakera dvre sevaha 'mdhava' | kminra kma, nahe tava dhma, thra mlika kevala 'ydava' ||3|| Serve Mdhava with all your wealth, since it is meant only for His pleasure. Lust for beautiful women is not your abode, since the lord of everyone's love is only Ydava. pratih-taru, jaa-my-maru, n pela 'rvaa' yujhiy 'rghava' | vaiav pratih, tte kara nih, th n bhajile labhibe raurava ||4|| Unable to attain the mirage of the tree of the desire for worldly prestige, in the desert of the illusory material energy, Rvaa fought Rghava and got obliterated. Rather, execute your worship by being rmly established in the truly prestigious position of a vaiava; else, you will attain hell. harijana-dvea, pratih-klea, kara kena tabe thra gaurava | vaiavera pche, pratih che, t'te, kabhu nahe 'anitya-vaibhava' ||5|| Why do you accept honor in anguishing for worldly prestige by blaspheming the devotees of Hari? Real prestige lies in following the path of the vaiavas, because it is never inuenced by impermanence. se hari-sambandha, nya-mygandha, th kabhu naya jaera kaitava | pratih-cal, nirjanat-jli, ubhaye jniha myika raurava ||6|| One's relationship with Hari is devoid of the reek of illusion. In it there is never worldly deceit. Know both, the witch of worldly prestige and her trap of solitary worship, to be the hell of illusory existence. 'krtana chiba, pratih mkhiba', ki kja dhuiy tda gaurava | mdhavendra pur, bhva-ghare curi, n karila kabhu sadi jnaba ||7|| "I shall give up the congregational worship of the Hare Ka mahmantra, and smear myself with the worldly prestige of solitary worship." What merit lies in seeking such glory? Always know that even Mdhavendra Pur never committed theft in the storehouse of spiritual sentiments. tomra pratih, 'ukarera vih', tra-saha sama kabhu n mnaba | matsarat-vae, tumi jaarase, majecha chiy krtana-sauava ||8|| Your worldly prestige is just hog stool. Never consider yourself equal with Mdhavendra Pur. Controlled by envy, and wallowing in worldly lth, you have abandoned the excellence of the congregational chanting of the Hare Ka mahmantra. ti dua mana, 'nirjana bhajana', pracricha chale 'kuyog-vaibhava' | prabhu santane, parama yatane, ik dila yh, cinta sei saba ||9|| Therefore, wicked mind, the solitary worship of the Hare Ka mahmantra that you are preaching through hypocrisy, is the opulence of a fraudulent yog. Please deliberate over all the instructions that Mahprabhu, with utmost care, gave Santana Gosvm. sei du'i kath, bhula n sarvath, uccaisvare kara 'harinma-rava' | 'phalgu' ra 'yukta', 'baddha' ra 'mukta', kabhu n bhviha, ekkra saba ||10|| Under no circumstance, while loudly chanting the Hare Ka mahmantra, forget these two instructions: that fake renunciation and real renunciation, and that the conditioned souls and the liberated souls, are never to be considered on the same platform. 'kanaka-kmin', 'pratih-bghin', chiyche yre, sei ta' vaiava | sei 'ansakta', sei 'uddha bhakta', sasra tath pya parbhava ||11|| One who has given up the desire for wealth, beautiful women, and the tigress of worldly prestige, is alone a vaiava. He is unattached, he alone is a pure devotee, and he alone prevails over the bondage of repeated birth and death. yath-yogya bhoga, nhi tath roga, 'ansakta' sei, ki ra kahaba | 'sakti-rahita', 'sambandha-sahita', viaya-samha sakali 'mdhava' ||12||

Dua Mana

He appropriately partakes of only whatever is necessary, and so remains unaficted by the disease of materialism. He alone is truly detached; what more can I say? Free from attachment, and enlightened in his constitutional relationship, he perceives the multifarious objects to be all non-different from Mdhava. se 'yukta-vairgya', th ta' saubhgya, thi jaete harir vaibhava | krtane yhra, 'pratih-sambhra', thra sampatti kevala 'kaitava' ||13|| Such devotional renunciation is indeed good fortune, for it reveals the material world as Hari's potency. He who performs krtana with heaps of desires to inate his worldly prestige, possesses only the wealth of self-deception. 'viaya-mumuku', 'bhogera bubhuku', du'ye tyaja mana, dui 'avaiava' | 'kera sambandha', aprkta-skandha, kabhu nahe th jaera sambhava ||14|| O mind, please reject, both, the enjoyment and renunciation of the material world, as non-devotional intentions. Perception of everything in its intrinsic relationship with Ka is the transcendental reality which is never contaminated by material inuence. 'myvd jana', ketara mana, mukta abhimne se ninde vaiava | vaiavera dsa, tava bhakti-a, kena v kicha nirjana-haba ||15|| The impersonal philosophers' mentality is averse to Ka. Haughtily deluding themselves to be liberated, they disparage the vaiavas. You are a servant of the vaiavas, and you aspire for bhakti, then why do you exhort me to the battleeld of solitary worship? ye 'phalgu-vairg', kahe nije 'tyg', se n pre kabhu haite 'vaiava' | haripada chi', 'nirjanat bi', labhiy ki phala, 'phalgu' se vaibhava ||16|| A fake renunciate who claims himself renounced, can never be a vaiava. Rejecting the lotus feet of Hari, and intensifying your solitary practices, what reward did you obtain, but the worthless treasure of hypocrisy? rdhdsye rahi, chi 'bhoga-ahi', 'pratih' nahe 'krtana-gaurava' | 'rdh-nityajana', th chi' mana, kena v nirjana-bhajana-kaitava ||17|| Ever remaining in the service of r Rdh, shun the venomous serpent of worldly enjoyment. The privilege of performing krtana is not to augment your popularity. Having abandoned the servitorship of Rdh's eternal associates, o mind, why then this deceit of solitary worship? vrajavsgaa, pracraka-dhana, pratih-bhikuka t'r nahe 'aba' | pra che tra, sehetu pracra, pratihhna 'kagth' saba ||18|| The inhabitants of Vraja are the wealthiest preachers of Ka's glories. They are antithetical to the corpse-like beggars of worldly prestige. Preaching is their life and soul, and thus they sing Ka's glories with absolutely no desire for stardom. rdayitadsa, krtanete a, kara uccaisvare 'harinma-rava' | krtana-prabhve, smaraa svabhve, se kle bhajana-nirjana sambhava ||19|| r Dayita Dsa (Bhaktisiddhnta Sarasvat) aspires for krtana, and pleads with everyone to perform the loud chanting of the Hare Ka mahmantra, whose effect will awaken the natural remembrance of Ka; at that time only is one capable of solitary and condential worship of the mahmantra.
