ABSTRACT

The main objective of this project is to design a handy pocket-size transmission detector that can sense the presence of an activated mobile phone from a distance of one-and-a-half meters. So it can used to prevent the use of mobile phones in examination halls, confidential rooms, etc. It is also useful for detecting the use of mobile phone for spying and unauthorized video transmission. The circuit uses an antenna for the reception of the signal. The received signal is stored as current by a capacitor. This current then is transferred as the corresponding voltage by the converter IC CA3130. This voltage helps us to give the indication of the presence of a mobile by glowing the LED and by sounding a buzzer with the help of a transistor and a timer circuit respectively. A miniature 9 volt battery and a small buzzer are used to make the circuit pocket size. The circuit can detect both incoming and outgoing calls, SMS and Video transmission even if the mobile phone is kept in the silent mode. The moment the bug detects RF transmission signal from an activated mobile phone. It starts sounding a beep alarm and LED blinks. The alarm continues until the signal transmission cease. A cell phone detector could be used by school and college administrations to track certain nonpermissible activities by the students in the classroom, mostly during tests and examinations. The students often leverage the capabilities of their highly functional cell phones to transfer the academic notes through calls, SMS, MMS and in other forms. With the help of the specialized cell phone detector circuit, this device detects the transmission of any such data between the cell phones kept within a specified range.

Keywords: handy pocket size detector, detecting range one-and-half, silent mode, detect RF transmission.

MINOR PROJECT OUTLINE

In this project we made an attempt to design a CELL-PHONE DETECTOR that can detect the both incoming and outgoing calls, SMS and video transmission even if the mobile is kept at the silent mode. In this report

Chapter 1 introduces to the cell phone detector by considering the demo circuit.

Chapter 2 focuses on the block diagram and its literature review. In this chapter we thoroughly discussed the working of the cell phone detector.

Chapter 3 provides the description of the components used in the project.

Chapter 4 covers the applications and limitations of the project.

Chapter 5 shows the conclusion and future aspects of cell phone detector.
