PAY SCALE The above posts carries pay scale Pay Band 1 i.e. Rs. 5200-20200 with grade pay of Rs. 2000/-plus usual allowances as sanctioned for the members of the Force from time to time. In addition, Ration Money, Washing Allowance, Rent Free Accommodation, Free Medical Aid, Free Uniform, Free Leave Pass (Railway Warrant) etc. are also admissible as per rules. New Contributory Pension Scheme which has come into effect from 1/1/2004 will be applicable to all the selected candidates.
Ward (s) of serving CRPF personnel may also apply, if so desired accordingly. They will be required to compete with common candidates. Wards of CRPF serving personnel / died/ invalidated out from service should have an

undertaking to be issued by the concerned GCs/BNs that the candidate who has appeared for recruitment is a CRPF Ward by giving full details about the Govt. servant to avoid any bogus entry in the recruitment. 3. SERVICE LIABILITY The selected candidate has All India Service Liability and can be posted anywhere in India or outside the country. 4. (a) ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS Age Between 18 to 25 years (Relaxable for Government servants upto the age of 40 years in the case of General candidates and 45 years in case of SC or ST candidates in accordance with instructions or orders issued by the Central Government from time to time. Three years upper age limit is also admissible to OBC candidates as per Government orders. Note-1: The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be 01st August of the year in which year subject recruitment is being conducted from the candidates in India. Note-2: The children and dependent family members of those who were killed in the riots of 1984 would be eligible for relaxation in age by 5 years. If the applicant belongs to SC/ST or OBC category, the relaxation so provided in this clause will be in addition to the age relaxation as applicable to their categories. To obtain this relaxation a certificate from the concerned District Magistrate of the district where the victim was killed, should be produced. Note-3: Upper age limit upto 05 years is also relaxable for those persons who had originally been domiciled in the State of J & K during the period from 1st January, 1980 to 31st December,1989. If the applicant belongs to SC/ST or OBC category, the relaxation so provided in this clause will be in addition to the age relaxation as applicable to their categories. The persons claiming relaxation under this category should produce a certificate to the effect that they had been domiciled in the State of J & K during the period from 1st January,1980 to 31st December,1989 from the District Magistrate within whose jurisdiction they had originally resided or from any authority designated in this behalf by the Govt. of J & K. Note 4 : The children and dependent family members of those killed in the riots of 2002 in Gujarat would be eligible for relaxation in age by 5 years. If the applicant belongs to SC/ST or OBC category, the relaxation so provided in this clause will be in addition to the age relaxation as applicable to their categories. To obtain this relaxation a certificate from the concerned District Magistrate of the district where the victim was killed, should be produced at the time of recruitment. The candidates should be physically fit in all respects. Male candidates should be able to complete 1 mile race in 10 minutes & for female candidates 1 mile race in 12 minutes. 6. i) ii) MEDICAL STANDARD Eye Sight Visual standard both for male and female should be 6/6 right eye and 6/12 left eye or 6/9 both eyes without optical device. The candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defects likely to interfere with the efficiency performance of the duties. In case of an exservicemen who got discharged from Army at own request before completing 5 years of service will not be eligible for recruitment. No race/ physical efficiency test will be held for Exservicemen at the time of their recruitment in CRPF. However, Ex-servicemen will be required to appear in written test, trade & medical examination. Ex-servicemen having put in not less than 15 years service in allied cadre/same line of duties in Army/Navy/Air Force will also be eligible to compete the test against the vacancies reserved for them. Ex-servicemen who have already secured employment in civil side under Central Govt in GroupC posts on regular basis after availing of the benefits of reservations given to Ex-servicemen for their re-employment are not eligible for fee concession or for claiming benefits of reservation under Ex-servicemen category. However, they will be eligible for age relaxation.

METHOD OF SELECTION STAGE I {PET/PST} a) PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST (PET) / RACE At the beginning of the recruitment process, candidates will be subjected to 1 mile race to be completed within 10 minutes (For female 12 minutes). This test will be only qualifying in nature. Candidates who do not qualify the race would be eliminated from the recruitment process by giving rejection slip intimating reasons thereof by Presiding Officer. Note: No PET will be held for Ex-Serviceman, However ex-serviceman will be required to qualify requisite written test, Trade test and medical examination.

b) SCREENING OF TESTIMONIALS Required original testimonials/documents of those candidates who qualified 1 mile race will be checked and only eligible candidates will be permitted to the next stage of recruitment. Candidates who fail to produce the requisite testimonials/certificates should be eliminated from the recruitment process and in no case candidates should be allowed provisionally. c) PHYSICAL MEASUREMENT The candidates who are found eligible on screening of testimonials will be screened for height, chest and weight by the Board of Officers. The candidates who meet the requirements of physical standard will be allowed to participate in the written test. The candidates who do not fulfill the laid down physical standards will be eliminated from recruitment process by giving rejection slip, thereof, by Presiding Officer. STAGE II WRITTEN TEST i) ii) The candidates who qualify in physical standard test will be required to appear in written test. The written test will be of 100 marks consisting of two parts i.e Part-Iknowledge expected from a Class 10 pass candidates and Part-II relating to knowledge of the Trade. Questions in Part-I & II to be answered by using a pen. Use of pencil will not be allowed. iv) While all the question papers in the examination will contain the same set of questions, the question papers will be in 3-4 different series having the questions serially numbered in different order. The question paper consisting of 50 objective type Questions carrying 1 mark each will be set to assess the (i) general awareness/general knowledge, (ii) knowledge of elementary mathematics, (iii) analytical aptitude (iv) ability to observe and distinguish patterns and to test the (v) basic knowledge of the candidates in English/Hindi. The questions will be set both in Hindi and English. The question papers will be bilingual and can be answered either in Hindi or in English. The standard of the questions should commensurate with the knowledge expected from a Class 10 pass candidates. In order to assess the knowledge of respective trade, both objective/descriptive type questions consisting of 50 marks will be set. Question paper of part-II (Trade) will be separate for each trade and a candidate having applied for a particular trade will be given question paper (Part-II) pertaining to that trade. The duration of the Written Test will be 2 hours.

STAGE III TRADE TEST The candidates who qualify in written test will be put through trade test. The Trade test will be of qualifying nature. During trade test a candidate will be asked to perform any activity pertaining to the particular trade for which he has applied. Out of 50 marks for practical Trade Test a candidate must secure 20 marks to qualify. The expenditure so incurred on raw material used in Trade Test will be met from within the sanctioned budget grant of respective Sectors. The parameters for each trade will be as under:i) Constable (Daftry) : Preparation of gum & ink, envelopes. Cyclostyling and preparing Photostat copies of letters. Maintenance of office machine/ current files their backward/forward linking. Binding of registers and ledgers. : Opening & closing of office. Filling water in the cooler/matkas/water filter. Arranging lay out and cleaning of tables, chairs and other furniture items. Collection and distribution/ receipt of mail/dak. Preparation of envelopes/parcel packets and taking the mail to post office/letter box for registration/mailing. : Sweeping of floors, open area and cleaning of toilets, bathrooms etc. : Opening & closing of office. Filling water in the cooler/matkas/water filter. Arranging lay out and cleaning of tables, chairs and other furniture items. Collection and distribution/ receipt of mail/dak. Preparation of envelopes/ parcel packets and taking the mail to post office/letter box for registration/mailing. : Receipt/dispatch of mail/dak/books. Arranging/layout of newspaper/periodicals books etc.

{MEDICAL EXAMINATION} i) The candidates will be medically examined to access their physical and medical fitness as prescribed in the eligibility condition. The number of candidates to be medically examined will be equal to the number of vacancies increased by average failure rate during medical examination determined on the basis of past experience/ recruitment. Candidates will be called for medical examination in order of merit. The medical Officer while carrying out medical examination will declare a candidate FIT or UNFIT. In no case a candidate may be declared temporary unfit.

APPEAL AGAINST MEDICAL EXAMINATION (i) A candidate declared unfit for appointment in CRPF in detailed Medical Examination, the grounds for rejection will be communicated to him by the Medical Officer duly countersigned by the Officer detailed by the Sector IG. The candidate, if not satisfied with the findings of the Medical Officer, can submit an appeal to the appellate authority i.e Range DIG for review medical examination with a proof of his/her fitness, from a Medical Practitioner, in the form of a medical fitness certificate as given in Annexure V. The medical certificate will not be taken into consideration unless it contains a note by the medical practitioner concerned to the effect that it has been given in full knowledge of the fact that the candidate has already been declared unfit by a Medical Officer for appointment in CRPF. The appeal will also not be taken into consideration unless it contains medical re-examination fee of Rs.25/(Rupees Twenty Five) only through crossed IPO/Demand Draft/Bankers Cheque in the favour of appellate authority and the same should be submitted within 15 days from the date of issue of the communication in which the findings of the Medical Officer are communicated to the candidate. STAGE V {DRAWAL OF FINAL MERIT LIST} Final selection of the candidate will be made in order of merit in each category on the basis of marks secured in the written test. The minimum cut-off percentage of marks for appointment will be as under:General/ Ex-servicemen SC/ST/OBC 9. The General/OBC candidates should send their application forms alongwith application fee of Rs.50/- (Rupees Fifty only) by means of Crossed Indian Postal Order (Non refundable) drawn in favour of Deputy Inspector General of Police of concerned application receiving centre as mentioned above. The IPO should be purchased after the date of publication of the advertisement and should be payable/encashable at the Post office/Bank where the applciation receiving centre is situated. Candidates belonging to general/OBC categories will be straightaway rejected if application fee, as above, is not attached alongwith the application. The candidates belonging to SC and ST categories are exempted from payment of application fee and are not required to attach Indian postal orders. Similarly, Exservicemen candidates eligible for reservation are also exempted from pay application fee. Fees once paid will NOT be refunded under any circumstances. 11. DESPATCH OF APPLICATION FORMS
The candidates may utilize the format as application form and the same duly filled in should reach any one of the centres of his choice on or before stipulated date. Applications received after the last date fixed for receipt of application will not be accepted. 12. a) b) GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Decision of the concerned recruitment boad will be final. Candidates will have to appear for selection/test at their own expenses and no TA/DA will be admissible. They will also have to make their own arrangements for stay during recruitment. Candidates not producing original documents shall be rejected at the initial stage itself. e) Candidates seeking reservation benefits as SC/ST/OBC/Ex-servicemen must ensure that they are entitled to such reservation as per eligibility prescribed in the advertisement. They should also be in possession of the certificates in the format prescribed by Government of India in support of their claim. Date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination certificate or an equivalent certificate produced during the course of recruitment will only be accepted for determining the age eligibility and no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted. The admission of candidates at all the stages of examination will be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. Undergoing medical examination at the end of the recruitment process does not guarantee appointment as the offer of appointment will be made only according to allotted vacancies, for each categories in respective posts, from the merit list in order of seniority of the candidates. The candidates selected for the appointment shall be subject to Chest X-ray & Pathological test in the presence of a CRPF Medical Officer or in the presence of an authorized official. All the posts are combatised and are purely temporary but likely to be continued. Selected candidates are liable to be posted anywhere in India or outside. Selected candidates on their appointment in CRPF will be governed by the CRPF Act 1949, CRPF Rules 1955 and other Central Government Rules and regulations as applicable from time to time. Selected candidates will have to undergo prescribed training for specific period at any time of the Training Centres of the Force. If any, candidate does not qualify the prescribed training, his/her services are liable to be terminated. After his/her selection/appointment if any candidate is found ineligible or guilty of suppressing facts, on any ground, his services will be terminated without assigning any reason. Canvassing in any form or bringing outside influence will automatically disqualify the candidate from appearing the test without notice. Candidates having the right aptitude, capability, fitness and knowledge of respective trade, may apply for the posts. Before applying, all the candidates who wish to appear for enlistment are advised to go through the requirements of educational & technical qualifications, age, physical standards etc., and satisfy themselves that they are eligible for the posts.
