Lind, who would talk to her sister two or three times a day, notes the 32 riders on TeamMaureen and the countless others who volunteer and participate in events like the dodgeball tourney. "Eventhough she'snot here, she's still pulling all of us together," says Lind. The tournament does two things: it raises funds for Team Maureen, which in turn provides funds for gynecological cancer research; and it honors the life of Maureen (Duffey) Russo, who died at age 37 after her second battle with the disease. Maureen's sister, Eileen Lind of Falmouth, says the dodgeball tourney is in keeping with her sister's spirit: fun, family-oriented and, at times, pretty dam competitive. "My sister was very familyoriented and this is a fun family llctivity;' says Lind. "It's really a celebration of her life and a tribute to all those whose liveshave been touched by cancer." Now at 32 members, Team Maureen participates in the Pan-Mass Challenge, a bike-a-thon that raises money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund. Proceeds from the dodgeball tournament will help to defray the entry
