O God, who by the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, did prepare a worthy dwelling place for Your Son, we beseech You that, as by the foreseen death of Your Son, You did preserve Her from all stain, so too You would permit us, purified through Her intercession, to come unto You. Through the same Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns

First, recite the Prayer to the Immaculate Conception. Then, recite the appropriate prayer of each of the nine days.
Day Nine (May 19, 2012) O Mother of the King of the Universe, most perfect member of the human race, "our tainted natures solitary boast," we turn to you as Mother, advocate, and Mediatrix. O Holy Mary, assist us in our present necessity. By your Immaculate Conception, O Mary conceived without sin, we humbly beseech you from the bottom of our heart to intercede for us with your Divine Son and ask that we be granted the favor for which we now plead... (State your intention here...) O Mary of the Immaculate Conception, Mother of Christ, you had influence with your Divine Son while upon this earth; you have the same influence now in heaven. Pray for us and obtain for us from him the granting of my petition if it be the Divine Will. Amen

On behalf of the Filipino Catholic Community in the Diocese of Allentown (FCCDA), I would like to warmly welcome you to our sixth Flores de Mayo in celebration of our Blessed Virgin Mary, mother of Christ. In conjunction with St. Francis Retreat House, we have another amazing opportunity to celebrate as a Filipino community and rejoice the special tradition of the Santacruzan, rightfully named Queen of Filipino Festivals. Over the years, we have witnessed the endearing growth of our Filipino community here in the Lehigh Valley. As a resident of this county since 1999, I find great joy in encountering fellow Filipinos in various circumstances. In the process, we discover together the unity that inherently binds us in heart, soul and spirit. Let us take this opportunity to unite as kababayans to uphold our Catholic faith. I would like to extend my unparalleled gratitude and appreciation to all the volunteers and committee members of the Flores de Mayo. You have worked tirelessly over the weeks; this event will never be possible without you. I would also like to thank all the participantsthe sagalas, reynas, consortes, friends and family members you are the reason why this event is a success. Finally, let us seize this opportunity to grow together as a community and embrace the traditions that makes us one in Christ. Warm regards,

Flores de Mayo 2012 May 19, 2012 Welcome Friends, to the 2012 Flores de Mayo!! Truly we are blessed to come together once again as a community to give honor to our Blessed Mother Mary during this month of May. One of the defining aspects of being Catholic is our devotion to our Mother Mary. Around the world, Catholics of many cultures view May as the month of devotions to Mary with feast days including Our Lady of Fatima, Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament and Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. So it is only fitting that we bring flowers today to show the love we have for our dear Mother. We love and venerate you, O Blessed Virgin Mary, for you are the Mother of our Savior, Jesus Christ, who is God incarnate, true God and true man. Mary always points us to her son, who is the source of her strength. We also meditate on Mary whose life teaches us so much about our relationship with God. We continue our festive tradition with our Flores de Mayo/Santacruzan now in its sixth year and pass on the honor of bringing flowers and crowning our Queen of heaven and of our hearts to the young men, women and children of our community, to whom we also pass on our Catholic beliefs. We wish to express our sincere gratitude to our Chairwoman who, with the tireless work and dedication of the committee members of the FCCDA, makes this event a success year after year. Thank you to our sponsors and benefactors for their continued generous support. To Father Robert Kosek, our Mass celebrant today, all the participants, volunteers, parents and guests, we are sure that our Blessed Mother Mary thanks you for honoring her this day.
