9. WORKPROCEDURE:
9.1 TheworkshallbecommencedafterobtainingstatutorypermitsfromtheTrafficpolicedepartment andGreaterHyderabadMunicipalityCorporation,andotherGovernmentbodies. 9.2 TheconstructionteamshallbeeducatedabouttheapprovedConstructionWorkProcedure(CWP) byConstructionmanager. 9.3 Asperthecoordinategiveninthetablegiveninsection1.0scope,keepingthecoordinateasthe centeroffoundation,areaofexcavation(2.5mx2.5m)shallbemarkedbylimepowder. 9.4 The footing load test area (12.0m x 8.0m) shall be marked and barricaded with 16nos steel fabricatedboards (L=2.0m x H=2.4m each). These barricades shall be firmly secured by nailing downintotheground.Fournosofredblinkinglightsshallbefixedashazardsignalsalongandat thetopofbarricadingline.Otherroadsafetycautionaryboardsshallbeprovidedfacingtowards theapproachingTraffics.Trafficmarshalsshallbedeployedtocontrolthetrafficduringtheentire procedureoffootingloadtest. 9.5 Fournos.of150mmdiameterboresdrillingshallbecarriedoutatallfouranchoringpositionsas perthedrawingasannexureA.Depthofeachdrillholeshallbe20.0mminimumfromEGLto ensure10mofhardrockanchoring(FixedLength).Theboringdepthshallbemeasuredbyusing sounding chain.Each hole shall be capped tight immediately after boring completed to protect fromfallingofanyforeignmaterial.BeforeinsertingtheLowrelaxationhightensilesteelstrands into the hole each hole shall be flushed with compressed air to ensure the bore is clean from water,anylooseandforeignmaterial.10nosof15.2mmdiameterstrandsof24meachinagroup

shallbeinsertedbyproviding10nosofPVCspacerplatesat1mc/cplacedthroughoutthefixed length,sothatthestrandsarenotentangledtoeachotherwhileinsertingintothedrilledbore hole.AnAnchorheadshallbefixedattheendofstrandgroupandaguidebulbshallbemadeat thecutendbeforeinsertingofstrandsusingEpoxy(mixofHardenerLapoxK46andResinLapox B47)grout. 9.6 AHighDensityPolyEthylene(HDPE)pipeof16mmIDand25minlengthshallbeinsertedthrough thecenterofthespacerplatesuptothebottomforpouringcementgrouttoanchorthestrands intherockhole.Allofthestrandsinsidetheboreholeabovethe10mrocksocketingforthefree length shall be inserted thru individual HDPE Pipes of 16mm ID to keep the strands free from contactwithmoistureandsoilaround. 9.7 Grout shall be prepared by mixing Cement and water uniformly using a mechanical mixer to a watercement ration of 0.40per bag of cement, water to be added is 20lts) which shall be pumpedintotheanchorholethroughthecentrallyplacedHDPEpipe.Asuitablepressuregrout pumpcapabletopumptheabovecementgroutshallbeusedtopourthegrout.6nosormoreof groutcubesofdimension(100mmx100mmx100mm)shallbecasttoascertaintheageatwhich aminimumstrengthof30Mpaisachieved.Groutshallbefilleduptothefixedlength(Bottom 10.0m) portion i.e. up to the rock socketing length. Confirmation of filled depth shall be measuredbyusingsoundingchain.Thefreelength(11.50mminimumfromthegrouttop)ofthe anchoriskeptfreetoelongateforstressingeffectduringloadtest. 9.8 Dismantling of the concrete median, hard top road surface shall be done by pneumatic pavementbreakerandtheexcavatedmaterialshallbedisposedoffinasuitabledisposalarea. 9.9 Theunderneathlayersshallbeexcavatedmanuallybyusingpickaxeandspade.Excavationshallbe done up to 3mtr below the existing ground Level. Excavated material shall be kept aside for backfillingofthetestpit.Thebaseofthetestlocationshallbeleveledandcompactedwiththe lightdutyplatecompactor.A75mmthickPlainCementConcrete1:3:6shallbeplacedoverthe excavated,leveled&compactedtothedimensionsgivenasperthedrawinginAnnexureA. 9.10 Abrickmasonry/solidprecastconcreteblockwallofheight150200mmshallbemadearound thetestpitattheexistinggroundleveltoprotectthetestareafromsurfacerainwaterentering in. 9.11 Cutting,bending,andtyingofReinforcementbarsforthefootingshallbecarriedoutasperthe Bar Bending Schedule. Adequate water tightness of shuttering for the RCC footing shall be ensuredbyusingthefoamstripsandsealant(putty).TheRCCfootingshallbecastinsituattest location with M30 grade concrete. Subsequently a central RCC column of dimension 0.75m x 0.75mx1.26mshallbecastwithM35gradeconcrete.6nosormoreofconcretecube(150mmx 150mm x 150mm) shall be cast to check compressive strength. Water Curing shall be startedafter24hoursofconcretingbycoveringthefooting withhessian cloth and sprinklingof wateronit,Curingshallbedoneuptoaperiodof14daysandsimultaneouslycareshallbetaken topreventfloodingaroundthefootingalso. 9.12 Thesteelbeamstructureforkentledgeshallbeliftedbycraneandpositionedcentrallyoverthe support blocks. The grout cubes shall be tested for compressive strength. Once the strength

achievedismorethan30N/mmbutnotbefore14days,strandgroupsfromeachrockanchors shallbestressedonebyoneusinga multistrandjacktoremoveslacknessifany. Therequired pressuretoremovetheinitialslacknessshallnotbemorethan0.72MT. 9.13 Asgiveninthedrawing(AnnexureA),thearrangementsofplacingDatumbars,andHydraulic Jack,fixingoftwosetofdeflectionmeasuringgaugesof50mmtravel(4nos)and25mmtravel (4nos)withthedatumbars,settinguppressure/Loadmeasuringgaugeshallbedone.Once loadingcommences,readingsshallbeobservedfromthe50mmdeflectiongauges(First setof dialgauges)forthesettlementoffooting.Afterthedeflection(settlement)reachesabout45mm travelanothersetofdialgaugesof25mmtravel(Secondsetofdialgauges)shallbesettoitszero positionandsubsequentreadingsshallbestarted.Inasimilarmannerifthesettlementreaches 20mm(inthesecondsetofdialgauges),againtheprevious50mmgaugesshallbekeptreadyfor the next settlement reading. The observations in settlement shall be continued until the final loadof400MTisreached. 9.14 As an additional measure to check elongation of strands comparing with yield of ram of jack, four level instruments shall be set with a paint mark on each set strands before loading started.The survey instrument shall be used to note the change in reduced level on each increment of loading, immediately and after elapse of 60minutes. This shall provide a relation betweentheelongationsofstrand;pressureappliedandyieldsoframofjack. 9.15 Concrete cube sample shall be tested at the age of 14days or later to check the compressive strength of concrete is achieved more than 30Mpa.And once the concrete achieved the compressive strengththeactivityfortheloadtestshallbetakenup.Initiallyminimumseating loadof2.80Tshallbeappliedandremovedbeforestartingoftheloadtest.Theloadingpatterns intermsofpressureshallbecalculatedbasedontheRAMdiameterofjackatsite.Thenfooting shallbeloadedtoamaximumloadof400MTandthedesignloadintensityof100MT/m.Thisis done in 10 equal increments. 9.16 Readingofdialgaugesshallbetakenbygettingdownfromexistinggroundleveltothetopof footing level,but outside the footing through the steps made from two opposite barricaded sidesasinthesketchasAnnexureD.Ineachsideoftopoffootingthereisaclearanceof1.2m inbetweendatumbars.Careshallbetakenthatdatumbarsmustnotbetouchedordisturbed duringdialgaugereading. 9.17 Upon completion of loading, unloading shall be done in 10 equal decrements. After reaching theultimateload,thesettlementshallbeobservedforsuchthreehourlyreadingswherethere is no further settlement (less than0.02mm/min) is notedor elapse of 24 hours,whichever is earlier.Aftereachdecrementofload15minobservationtimeshallbeallowedforrecoveryin settlementandrecorded. 9.18 After completion of test, the testing instruments (Pressure gauge, Deflection gauges) shall be removed,packedandsealedcarefullyandshallbestoredatQualityControlDepartment.Other Kentledgearrangementshallbedistressedanddismantledbyusingcraneanddemobilizedfrom sitebynexttwodays.Strandsfromtheanchorholesshallbecut150mmbelowtheholetopand the hole shall be filled with crushed rock sand followed by full water saturation and 150 mm concretecapping. 9.19 BackfillingofthetestpitshallbecarriedoutaspertheConstructionWorkProcedure andthere by road shall be restored.At last the barrication and road safety Cautionary boards shall be removedandopenedtotraffic.

13.MANDATORYSAFETYREQUIREMENTS:
EveryworkmanmustbeengagedafterScreening,Safetyinduction&medicaltest. EveryworkmanshallbeallowedtoworkwithPersonalProtectiveEquipment(safetyshoes,SafetyHelmet,ReflectiveJackets,handgloves,nose musk,earplug,safetygoggles). AreaofworkshallbebarricadedwithBoardswithproperanchoring,boltingandweighttobekeptforstabilityofbarricades. Whileplanningexcavationoftestpit,itisimportanttoplanagainstthefollowing: Collapseofthesides, Materialfallingonthepeopleworkingintheexcavation, Peopleandvehiclesfallingintotheexcavation, Peoplebeingstuckbyplantandmachinery, Accesstotheexcavation, Fumes,Toxicgas Undergroundutilities Incidentstomembersofthepublic. Certifiedcrane&vehicleshallonlybedeployedforthejob Operatorofvalidlicenseshallbepermittedtooperatethecrane. Properaccessandworkingplatformshouldbeprovidedtoreachtheworkspot.
